  • Omg please say "you are a girly maaaan"

  • I want to start working out. I used to be quiet big in school but lost it due to being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I've recently started running and eating more healthy and now by top abs have started to show. I was wondering if you have a diet plan I can follow or get a general idea of. I know carbs, protien and water is really good for your body and healthy eating but me and many others just wonder how much of these should we take each day.

Would like to just get a general idea thanks :)

  • @PhoenixTalks Btw I got a video on what my body looks like atm so you can check that out on my channel to get a rough idea on what i look like atm thanks.

  • @PhoenixTalks paleodiet

  • Love it, it makes complete sense ...But how do i figure out how much protein, carbs, and fat to eat in my diet ?

  • German Accent : )

  • @Evilcyber sozz not fat weight i ment :DD

  • @Evilcyber man i want to start parkour and i need to do conditioning and all this staff so i can build musles for parkour moves anyway if i start exercising i will loose fat? cause i really dont want to loose any fat just to make my body stronger ...is that possible? plss answer

  • @cukGRAFFITISTREET Yes, it is. You just have to watch out for the things talked about in the video.

  • and just one question: is it possible to reduce your calories even more? i mean as long as you keep getting enough protein and stuff, so will it be possible to lose fat even faster?

  • @marcosdelapinta It will be really hard to get enough protein and the rest if you go below your BMR. Slowly build a solid foundation and you can enjoy it for years to come :)

  • thank you, this video was very useful!

  • Mate, you're genius. Greetings from Poland.

  • @wyciskTV Dzięki, wycisk, wiele pozdrowienia!

  • Hi Evil. I was wondering if when my body fat goes past a certain percentage (Say 10% for example), will I still be able to lose fat and gain muscle? I heard somewhere that when your body fat gets TOO low you have to eat more in order to continue gaining muscle.

  • @livingstonem10 For people with less than 10% BFP it is doable, but it is harder. You have to make really sure about having enough carbs (to fuel heavy workouts) and protein (to let the body build muscle), while *still* eating below your TDEE.

  • @Evilcyber Thanks for the reply! I think I'll just stay at 8-9% body fat all year 'round then. All of that bulking and cutting stuff seems like such a waste of time.

  • I think we need to clarify something here..."Losing Weight" is NOT the same thing as "Losing FAT."

That same 200-pound guy could lose Fat and STILL be 200 pounds if his muscle mass increases at the same time.

  • @jarden69

haha that's what's happening to me. I've been back to the weights after a long lay off, but also trying to lose some weight with cardio. I got a little discouraged by the scale not showing any weight loss after a month, but I look so much better, and the muscles are waking up again. I've learned to stop paying attention to the scale.

  • @adrencg

Good luck with it! Keep working hard!

  • is running strips muscles???? coz last 2 years i am running 12k in an hour everyday. and i have notice that i am not gaining any muscles........So.far i am not doing any weight training. Guys! pls help me out. Shall i stop running n do some weight training or Do only 30-45 mins run n do some weightTraining???? pls guys help me out..... Thanks very much!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrLoadke Do both. Check my teen starter workout video.

  • @MrLoadke Hey dude first you need to find out what your goal is my man if you're running that much its tough to keep muscle without eating a lot of high protein and carbs, if you're trying to gain muscle mass you don't need all the cardio trust me you burn more fat lifting heavy as opposed to cardio. What are you trying to achieve?

  • hey evil do you have an idea of how to lose excess skin after weight loss?

  • @joralva100 Wait six months to a year to see if it grows back. If it doesn't, the only way out is probably surgery :(

  • also why would eating more calories than your TDEE cause you to gain weight if a Calorie is a measurement of energy (I just looked it up =P)? Wouldn't it be possible to eat a high calorie diet with very low fat? What would the gain in weight be caused by then, if not fat?

Again, just thoughts for another video ;)

  • @Obsidian1392

first things, low fat foods are typically going to be high in protein and carbs. cabs get turned into glycose which if not used, is stored in adipose tissue as fat. so lets say you eat 500 carbs a day but only use 250 of it, thats 1000 calories(1 carb =4 calories) extra you have. same for protein 1g=4calories. extra protein will get stored in the tissue as fat as well. macro-nutrients get fun, especially when trying to drop those last 10 pounds ;) good luck with your diet tho bro

  • Great video as always evil! You explain confusing concepts in a simple way so that even I can understand it :-)

I was hoping you would explain what calories are also though? I mean, what exactly is a calorie and why are they so relevant to weight loss and weight gain? I know I can go look this up and I probably will just maybe thoughts for your next vid!

  • i have a question, i currently wrestle at 130lbs and in the furture like when im a sophomore i really wanna wrestle at 160lbs then go on at 200lbs in collage. so i heard the best/fastest way is useing supplements and lifting highy and intense training. is this right or the best solution? TO GAIN BIG

  • forum down again :(

  • @abcdrcill1

    nvm saw ur blog.

  • Great videos, thank you and scooby for all the information given !

  • Great video Evil...plenty of very important information...keep the great videos coming...thumbs up for sure!!

  • @marcellosings Thanks Marcello! :)

  • Really...I only have to eat 0.5 g of protein per pound?

  • @ebutuoy88 Check my video "Protein: How to use it".

  • Love your videos, keep up the great work ! And please use kilos and metric system, after all, you are from EU (:

  • @SimekDA Sorry about that! I usually try to use both, so everyone understands, but this time I forgot :(

  • My ADD meds (I'm 18, but didn't take them before now because they are very powerful) reduced my appetite so much that I am losing weight very quickly (started out at 245, one month later I'm 230) so I got concerned about muscle loss (as I have some naturally strong lower muscles). I looked all over Scooby's stuff, and have started eating my meals healthy (generally veggies, whole grains, fruit, lean meat, natural peanut butter etc....) along with working out so this video reassured me greatly!

  • Great video. One thing, imo you should have said ''losing fat'' instead of ''losing weight'' a number of times in the video, as there is a difference.

One thing people looking to gain muscle forget is that gaining muscle is a calorie burning process, that should be accounted for in your TDEE. TDEE calculators are never 100% accurate, so to find out your actual requirements would take some experimenting with the amount you eat.

  • @0wenSlattery Thanks, Owen!

Yeah, I thought about that, but figured that most often people use the terms interchangeably.

  • If I could put 10000 thumbs up I would.

I hate people saying that you need to lose muscle in order to lose fat, the answer is so simple: keep those darn workouts heavy and restrict a bit the number of calories!!

  • @Nicolax777 Well, it certainly is easier, but if you manage your nutrition well, it certainly can be done to keep or even increase the muscle.

  • Conclusion:

If you don't care that much about fat and dont have too much of it either, go for a diet that SLIGHTLY surpasses your TDEE.

If you at the other hand want to loose some fat while gaining muscle, go for the technique presented in this video.

    Again, GREAT video

  • @crocjump Yep, exactly. A bodybuilder with visible 6 pack, meaning 5-7% bodyfat would find this very hard to do and is in my opinion better advised to stay slightly above the TDEE. All others won't find it that difficult.

  • Still it is necessary to mention that when it comes to building muscle, eating the same amount of energy that you burn in a day or more is a more efficient way to become stronger and more muscular on. The loose fat while you gain muscle technique is mainly for those who wants to be lean all the the time, and those who mainly wants to burn fat but still wants to keep or build muscle.

  • It is not only while you are doing low energydemaning tasks that you burn fat, if your exercise session surpasses the amount of carbohydrates you have eaten prior to the trainig session, then your body start converting your fat reserves into energy. Great video though! Its tiring to hear people say that its impossible to loose fat while gaining muscle at the same time. The truth is that it is indeed possible, due to the reasons you talk about in this video.

  • Very nice video Evil. Simple yet informative.

  • Great video! Answered alot of my questions!

  • @Lordofo2 Thanks Lord!

  • Nice vid man, very helpful information.

  • I got the impression you were talking about only about "internal" fat a.k.a. fat stores and not external dietary fats.

It's just that dietary fats play an important role as well by keeping the hormonal balance in check. They alsohelp in the absorbation of certain vitamins, maintains healthy skin and hair, keeping ones brain functional. And of course we can't forget the EFAs either.

  • @JuhQman No one said following a NO-FAT diet is healthy. If you want six-pack abs, your have to remove it, but as most people know, six-pack abs are not the healthiest thing.

  • @dgnmwn you can't survive on a "NO-FAT" diet.Fats are essential nutrients that are used for much, much more then calories and storage. An example for this would be hormones that are responsible for bodily functions. No fat-no functions.

If someone wants to get six pack abs they need to lose weight while doing resistance training.

If someone is interested in exactly how, head over to the askscooby forum that's linked in the description.

Look for the FAQs on Nutrition and Losing Weight.

  • @TooCooLFoRYou123 Yes you can survive. But it's extremely unhealthy.

  • @dgnmwn I'm talking about extended periods of time,not "fad-dieting"

  • @TooCooLFoRYou123 I know. Truth is, you'll probably die of old age before dying of fat deficiency. Not enough research has been done into "HOW MUCH WOULD A HUMAN BEING SURVIVE WITHOUT FATS", and for obvious reasons, it never will be. So, that's just my take on this, my opinion, and you can't argue with your opinion. Bring facts. To my knowledge, there aren't any regarding this matter. I await to be proven wrong :D

  • @dgnmwn I await going to sleep in the not-too-distant future.Lets just agree to disagree. You do have a point,I can't find any studies on it but I think you should look up Rabbit Starvation.(malnourishment condition)

  • @dgnmwn "fat is your bodys major fuel reserve". Evil is talking about dietary carbs, protein and bodyfat. He didn't say anything about the importance of dietary fats in weightloss, musclebuilding and day-to-day life.

  • @JuhQman I know he didn't. I know they're important. But you can survive without dietary fats! You'll probably just be very very sick. But you can survive without them.

  • @dgnmwn Just as you can survive without carbs.

That is besides the point though. This videa is about gaining muscle while losing fat and in that process fat is important. And Evil doesn't state that.

  • @JuhQman If you want to get really, really cut, you have to remove fat entirely. You said it's vital for survival. It's not. It's mandatory for well-being, not for losing weight when you have body-fat under 5-8%.

  • @dgnmwn Actually I didn't. I only said it's an important aspect in losing fat, gaining muscle and day-to-day life.

  • @dgnmwn Although losing all body fat would be very, very unhealthy.

  • @Evilcyber I know, that's what I said. :D

  • @dgnmwn That is true - from an evolutionary perspective a six-pack makes no sense.

  • @Evilcyber Like most of the things we do to look great :D

  • @JuhQman Yep, my point here was fat as a fuel reserve. Cutting out all fats from your diet wouldn't be a good idea, because, just as you said, they play an important role in metabolism.

  • @Evilcyber Not only that, but the so called fat soluble vitamins need fats to be absorbed in the body. A varied diet is more important than many people think, as all the nutrients interact with eachother. For example, protein is useless if you dont eat certain types of vitamins that help you absorb it. The lesson is; DONT replace real food with supplements! Protein powder is fine, but should be mixed with real food like oats, milk, fruitjuice etc.

  • Very informative as usual!

  • @FunnyHaHa312 Thanks funny!

  • So one lb of fat is 3500 calories of stored energy. Does anyone know how much energy your body gets from burning a lb of muscle?
