  • I just try out in kitchen, the sause I made is very pleasing, thank you very much !

Is it possible to use margarine rather than butter ?

  • @boscoshoeb Nutmeg is a spice that comes in the form of a nut. You can grate it fresh or but it ground. Please do not let the lack of it deter you from making this. It will be fine! Thanks you for stopping by!

  • @pastryparrot1 hey thank u soo much...i am goin to try this today itself..

  • is it better to use cornflour or normal white flour?

  • @mkam619 Use plain white flour for this recipe. Cornflour will thicken it too much. Thank you for stopping by!

  • Thank you. Very helpful because you explained it so well.

  • @roohaghaznavi You are very welcome! Thank you so much for watching!

  • you can also add browned crumbled sausage and make sausage gravy. Or shredded cheddar and jack cheeses to make cheese sauce. Or add cinnamon, sugar, and spiced rum to make a dessert glaze. Is there anything bechamel sauce can't do?

  • @brtshstel Thank you very much for coming by!

  • is this same with carbonara sauce?

  • @sekarsonia No. I have a video on carbonara. It is completely different. Check it out. Thanks for coming by!

  • Would you please tell me how long I can keep WHITE SAUCE in the fridge if I want to prepare it in advance in order to save time and use it when needed?THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO .

  • @jawad384 You are welcome! Thank you for coming by. I would not keep this for more than 2 days. Also, you will probably get a thick crust on the top. If this happens, go ahead and remove it before you heat it up. Do not mix it into the sauce. Good luck!

  • Hey!! I was hoping you could help me out. I was wondering what kind of flavor Nutmeg adds? I have it but I really am at a loss for what kinds of things I can put it in. Are there flavor complements to nutmeg I should know about? Any advice would be great!! Thanks!!!

  • @Radjehuty Hi there! I use nutmeg in this sauce, some cookies and on egg-nog. Nutmeg has an earthy, woody, cinnamony taste. It compliments many things. I hope this helps. You will definitely use it a lot at Christmas time in cookies and desserts. Some people like it in their coffee.

  • i am so happy thanks a lot

  • @killdeth1 You are welcome! Thank you very much for watching!

  • I've never heard of using Nutmeg. I've been to culinary school. The Tradition classic white sauce is flavored with salt and white pepper. Then when you make your cheese sauce, you add a hint mustard powder and cayenne pepper.

  • @Yargbarg123 Thank you for coming by. Fortunately, not all culinary schools are exactly the same. Imagine how boring that would be! A little nutmeg in your white sauce renders a great result. Have a great week!

  • @pastryparrot1 Alrighty then, I'll take you're word for it. Perhaps I will try it myself. Thanks.

  • @Yargbarg123 Very cool! Hope you like it!

  • what type of milk did you use?

  • @StiXArTist You are welcome! Thank you for coming by!

  • Can the nutmeg be replaced by something else? It's a spice i personally never heard off and i don't know where i could find it. This looks really good and easy to do! I'm going to try it with cheese and pour it on coliflower.

I'll be looking up more of your recipes for sure! :)

  • @chinimasse Go ahead and forget about the nutmeg. It will be fine! I hope the cauliflower comes out great. Thanks for coming by!

  • how much cheese 2 add 2 use it in pasta although i don want it 2 cheesy !

  • @vrdhond Try 3/4 cup of grated cheese. That should be more than enough. Thanks for watching!

  • can this sauce be prepared in advance and store in the fridge?

  • @fakhrain Yes. YOu can make it and store it for a day or two. Thanks for coming by!

  • yummy

  • @TrisJash619 Thank you!

  • @pastryparrot1 thank you

  • What you you add if you were to make this sdauce for a fish plate

  • @wootza I would add mustard. That goes very nicely with fish. Thanks for coming by!

  • would it takes good if i added bacon

  • @4fashionpassion1 You could add crisped bacon to this at the end. I don't think that would be a bad combination. Thanks for coming by!

  • Wow, thank you so so much..

  • Thanks so much. everytime I made rue, I always got it lumpy and hard, but I guess adding the milk slowly was the key.

  • @iwatcher69 It is my absolute pleasure! Thank you for coming by. I am glad this helped!

  • @MickieJamez I personally used 1 Tbsp of Extra virgin olive oil and another 1 Tbsp of that fake butter from a tub (Probably margarine?) instead of pure butter and it came out great with some granulated garlic and italian herbs

  • Thank you for this. Have done it today and it was lovely,

  • @SweetKanfetka I am so happy to hear this! Thanks for letting me know!

  • can it be used for lasagna

  • @PrincessNUN Absolutely! You can add cheese to it if you want. Simply whisk it in until it is melted. Thanks for coming by!

  • thanks that was quick and easy !!!

  • @felcampos31 Thank you for letting me know! I am happy this worked!

  • @MickieJamez I have never used margarine for this so I do not know . . .sorry! Maybe you can try it out and let us know! Thanks for coming by!

  • Hi! Thanks so much for this, it looks super easy!

I am a little concerned about the flour (Cornflour is ok right?) going lumpy when I cook it though. Is it possible to mix the flour and milk first and then cook them together?

  • @smenon7 You can do that, sure! However, if you follow the video you will not get lumps! Promise!

  • @pastryparrot1 - Thank you so much! Cheers :)

  • Thanks alot do you suggest half cream half milk for a thicker sauce for pasta

  • @twobrOs678 You could do that, sure! I have a video on pasta & shrimp with Alfredo sauce. That is made with half and half and lots of Parmesan cheese. Check it out. Have a great night and thanks for coming by!

  • thank u mam 4 showing step by step precedure..i made it b4 but my mistakes were i had raw flour smell, and it was thickened...this sauce is very much popular in Bangladesh and available in every fast food..again thank u so much ...1 last question..how long can i preserve this in the refrigerator?

  • @thornykat I am very happy this helped you! This will keep only for about 2 days. It will get thick and clumpy if you save it. I would use it right away. If it does thicken, go ahead and whisk in some more milk as you are heating it. Thank you so much for coming by!

  • do you need to add nutmeg?

  • @weiwei6969 Not if you do not want to. It will be perfectly fine without it. Thanks for coming by!
