Well the app has been updated and many people are claiming that the app runs faster than it originally did. So check for the update and compare it. I didn't have the app before the latest update.

If you have the iphone 4 you can double tap the home button then hold down on any of the app that appear in the bay so they shake. Hit the minus button and you can close each one. A friend told me they were running in the background. Not sure if that's true, but it may help your performance.

The game is running at 1/2 the speed it should after the iOS4 update and it's barely playable. Getting really tired of waiting for sega to fix it. There is probably some dude sitting in the basement over at sega hq, working on it whenever he feels like.

I hate how motherf***ers of SEGA destroying this CLASSIC game by porting it on any device, carelessly just to make money! This makes me mad and sad, especially on idevices, Sega Genesis games running awfully, like a bad freeware emulator!

If you wanna play Original Sonic, play it on Genesis (or at least on a non-portable emulator)! BTW Sonic kicks SMario's butt!

Yes, it lacks the personality and charm of other early Sonic titles. The very reason why the game hasn't been ported so frequently as Sonic 1 and 2 is because it's not very good.

I have this game for the 3GS in which it there are no slow downs. The controls of this game are a bit awkward in the beginning but then got used to it. Would be nice if there was a video game controller dock for the iphone while the app would support that controller.

I initially bought this for my 1st gen Touch hardware and also encountered the same slow downs and dropped frame rates. However I had recently purchased a Touch 3rd gen and Sonic plays as smooth as silk on the faster processor. To me it seems as though Sega had optimized this game for the 3GS hardware rather than bothering to make it run smooth on anything less than a 3GS. I highly recommend this only for 3GS and 3rd gen Touch owners.

I liked this game, but not to play. Personally, I love all things Sonic....except the games. I mean, if you were a hedgehog that could go half the speed of light, why would you stop to turn around or stop to jump? Why would you even be in a place with cliffs higher than you can jump while running anyway?
