We've been diving in Akumal twice yearly since 1987. The biggest heartbreaker for me was the the massive Bahia Prinicipal hotel being built where the DIF camp had been. The Bahia has 2000 rooms (that;s a lot of sewage). We took our kids to the DIF camp to watch turtle hatching and releases many times. I know that the DIF people still collect and protect turtle eggs but I don't know where.
Akumal is beautiful but it is not as pristine as it was.

In the answers on video "Tulum is asking for your love" the last footage saddly was filmed just in Cozumel... Sorry...

Keep up the great work Drew. Underwater footage just fabulous. Marine park protection is so important for many areas like this. Thank goodness for the Barrier Reef here being protected. Rhonda, Australia
