  • NO MAME BLUE

  • Edge's guitar is unparalleled.

  • best song from the album

  • This is so deep, brilliant, meaningful. This is proper U2, not that sweetest thing/beautiful day nonsense they seem obliged to make (and there are more) to keep the masses happy. Their B-sides contain some of their best stuff!

  • For those of you wondering what is this song about, it narrates the migration movements of Arabs living in Europe and moving back to their north African countries for holidays. I live about 300kmts from the Bay of Cadiz they talk about in the song, which is the main Spanish door to go to Morocco by car ferry. When you listen to this song while driving in the highway, and see them with their old cars crowded with stuff and family, the whole thing makes sense. Brilliant and stunning.

  • @osocalvin Thanks for your insight. Youtube should be more about that!

  • Lights.. flash past

    Like memories

A speeding head, a speeding heart

I'm being born, a bleeding start

The engines roar, blood curling wail

    Head first then foot

    The heart sets sail

IN MY 35 YRS SINCE BIRTH AND PROBABLY THE TIME I AM TO LIVE, I WILL NEVER COME ACROSS SUCH BEAUTIFUL LYRIC WRITING.

  • @wisenumb amen!

  • what a friggin great song!

  • the beginning of the song absolutely kills the whole thing..too bad cuz the actual song isnt bad

  • Awesome!

  • 1:35 hair raising. brilliant.

  • Favorite song off NLOTH......

  • @JelitoBoba , No, this song is probably about Fez, Morocco, where they did some recording for No Line On the Horizon, and they got plenty of inspiration from Morocco and Africa. Hope that answers your question.

  • This song is so amazing. I don;t get it why they are not playing this song on their tour..

  • I hear a lot of Pink Floyd on PRR, and The Gloaming is uncannily like U2's Do You Feel Love (try them together) Maybe we should call them rip-offs? But since Otto has mellowed his cry of rip off to 'inspiration', I too will be charitable.

    PRR has 'influences'.

  • "African sun.. at last.."

Expect the unexpected... and i love them too much not to let them search the globe and have unique experiments in their music to their heart contents... :)

  • the intro is very interesting. not bad but just interesting. not what i would expect from U2 and exactly what i would expect. they are a very brilliant band.

  • This song scares my friends in the beginning... they were in the front yard now they are saying what? I LUV this song!!

  • Is that song about FEZ from Thats 70 show?

  • @JelitoBoba i lol'd hard

  • MY GOD WHAT A POWERFUL SONG THIS IS....

"Head first then foot, then heart sets sail"

    DEAR LORD, BLESS THIS BAND

  • A love music

  • i dig that bass in the intro

  • it sounds really evil at the start then it just explodes hahaha i love this song

  • intro is a complete rip off of pure reason revolution

  • @0tto777 which song? I've always thought "this songs reminds me of something else", but until now I couldn't find exactly what.

  • @Xalira06 can't think of a song in particular but if you listen to pure reason revolution you'll hear the similarities. Even when the guitar and drums come in it's typical of PRR

  • @0tto777

If its a complete rip off of something else, it helps to be able to name what is being ripped off. Otherwise you dont know what you are talking about.

Lots of music sounds the same at basic levels.

  • @0tto777 U2 work this kind of guitars, drums and progressions since their first album in 1980. Maybe PRR was inspired by U2.

  • @genzoman Well the album in general has really obvious inspiration that's all I'm saying like Stand Up Comedy sounds like a Led Zeppelin track and No Line On the Horizon sounds like a Kings Of Leon track that's all I'm saying

  • Perfect Driving song!

  • @purpleoscar especially at night!

  • F*ck yes, they are experimenting again. LOVE IT!!!!

  • still the greatest BAND, more so than any, thank you U2 for making my life better and inspiring me.

  • It sounds something like they're stuff from Achtung Baby...kind of obscure and out of focus

  • Unusual song... very overlooked

  • Unlike any song they've done before. Pretty good, I guess.

  • My favorite song from the album, it was originally supposed to be the opening track and I wish they'd left it that way.

  • it really is like nothing else they've done-unless you can enlighten me...

  • Amo este grupo!!!!!U2 en Cantabria ya.Revilla lee estas plegarias.
