Just a man that was jamming, funkin, and a true classic of the 70's. Music that will never come back. Different era and time zone. Just pure great music. The artist's of the 70's just original. Nobody copied anyone. Old school of the 1970's and 1980's is still the best music and is timeless. It is just a shame the young kids today never here this music.
@firetko14 Music is timeless and ageless. It may not be as accessable as it should be, but kids today will hear what they choose to hear. Not everybody likes that garbage so called 'popular' music. There are great artists in all genres spanning from country to rap to jazz to classical. It's all about the souls of who is playing and what they are about. Check out some young cats like "Snarky Puppy" or "Dirk Quinn Band" or "Thundercat: Golden Age of the Apocalypse" or "Marco Benevento.

Pure unadultirated funk.... I can't believe there are 3 dislikes to this. Evidently... Those 3 ppl don't know real music when they hear it! CLASSIC ISH RIGHT HERE.
Just read that he added Sheila (E)scovedo to his band shortly after her 18th birthday. He had to get permission from her dad Pete to take her on tour for this album.
@vlove43 Yeah they dont know any better but I can listen to rap songs all day if they sampled classic funk like this but then again sometimes its better to leave the classics alone instead of trying to remake them while destroying em in the process...LOL
"everybody funking but they dont know how" george clinton was taking about george duke, cameo and rick james for trying to use his style. but george duke did a good job with this jam!!!!
@1hungtomahawk so george clinton, who said that in 1975, was referring to a song that was made 3 years later by george duke? yeah that makes sense...time travel.
The first time I heard old school was when I was 7 and the song was Lets Groove by Earth, Wind, anf Fire. I remember my dad having CDs full of old school. I heard this song and loved it lol. George Duke. AWESOME
Has anyone seen the video clip of George and the band doing this in the studio? it was posted here and I only saw it once and haven't seen it again since.
I've been looking for this for years heard it on the radio way back in '77 but I didn't know the name of the song. I thought this was Bootsy!!! Thanks for posting!
