i want cutler to have a good o-line and a #1 receiver. if he struggles than il belive mel kiper but until than mel should keep his nose where it should be cause i believe with the good offencive talent. jay can throw more than 30tds and 11 int. last year he was sacked 56 times!!! but he still managed to lead his team 11-5 with a 23td to 16int.
Cutler is a sour grapes prima donna prototype modern day athlete. He showed his true colors in Denver when things didn't go "The way of Jay". Yes he has a big arm but he can't read a defense, as Mel says has horrible on the field body language and constantly throws off his back foot ala Jeff George. Slighlty above average QB at best.
@Vipersinferno everyone says cutler is a bad guy...show me where he was arrested....were he has blown up at coaches and ran down teammates...he was the most sacked qb in the league and yet says good things about his o-line...cutler showed guts against the seahawks...ran over earl thomas for a touchdown...body "launguage" huh?...kiper is an a-hole who takes money from agents to build up players so they get drafted higher...guess cutler's agent didnt cut him in...Bear Down...
@TRON91 Well I will say Cutler has amazing talent as I am a diehard Broncos fan. If Cutler was drafted by Chicago and cried his way out to go to Denver you probably would see things a little more my way. He wouldn't even answer his phone when the owner called him!!! At times he just doesn't get it.
@Vipersinferno Don't believe everything you hear through the media. Be smarter than that. Do you know for a fact that he wouldn't answer the owner's calls?
@VicInNocal Well when Pat Bowlen says he didn't answer his calls and Jay Cutler avoids the whole subject... then yes I do. About as much as you can without actually being there. Why would a long time respectable owner who has always treated his players and staff well lie??? Come on VicInNocal you Bears fan. Be smarter than that. Take off your Bears colored goggles.
@Vipersinferno Jay Cutler doesnt avoid the subject, he has said that he did in fact return Bowlen's messages. Bowlen says he didn't. It's he said/he said. But from what I hear Bowlen's mind isn't at 100% anymore and he sometimes even suffers memory lapses. Maybe this is what happened, and instead of bringing that up, Cutler decides it's just better to move on and take the high road.
@VicInNocal Lol that is ridiculous. I just had a vision of Pat Bowlen sitting in his Broncos front office desk with Broncos memorabilia everywhere going "where am I!??". Lol that is absurd. Did you see for yourself that Pat Bowlen is losing his memory?? Probably not. Im sure this is some ridiculous media report. Didn't you tell me not to believe everything you hear?? Well I know how you stubborn Bears fan are so guess you'll find out for yourself. So enjoy Jay Cutler and his antics.
@TRON91 Nobody is saying he's a bad person. He just isn't a team leader. Ok so maybe he actually was seriously hurt in the NFC title game. Where is his team spirit when he was on the bench?? He seems aloaf and uninterested. You have to see that!?? Right!!????? I would assume Tron you are a Bears fan just from how incessantly you defend him. I find it really hard to believe an unbiased person would do the same.
@Vipersinferno i know...but at the same time, if he carried on the sideline...yelling at coaches and smashing equipment to go back in...everyone wouyld have said..."see i told u he was a punk!" see how he conducts himself, see he is a crybaby....instead Jay sat there and took it...it was a lose lose for him as soon as he got hurt,,,i think its unfair to judge him...as far as phil Rivers goes...yea he hurt his knee and played....but the game he originally got hurt in...he did not return.
@TRON91 Yea as a Broncos fan I can't stand Philip Rivers. He was always trash talking him when Denver had the ball. Never in my life saw a QB trash talking from the sideline to the other starter. Very childish. But anyway I hope for your sake Cutler turns out to be a great QB.
@Vipersinferno He is actually the anti-modern day athlete. If anything, he's oldschool. He's not out there Twittering, or doing commercials, or trying 2build some kind of brand for himself. All he wants to do is play football, hit the gym, run his charitable foundation, & mind his own business. Media dopes want him to be more than that, to be some kind of media darling & quotable. He rejects that, so they talk shit about him & overanalyze his every last facial expression & "body language".
No Offensive Line, average at best weapons at the skill positions, new offense in consective years and the result is a 90+ passer rating and completing 61% of his passes on a division championship level team with a first round bye.
Mel Kiper is right 905 of the time pretty good for a predictor and analyst his job is to honestly evaluate talent he doesa good job and if he was a gm he would do better than most of the nfl
look at his best weapons....greg olsen, a solid TE, matt forte, a decent back, and devin hester, speed but no hands, if this guy had the same weapons as a brady or manning or warner, holy shit this guy would be good, look how he did with the broncos, a team with skill at receiver
@opperry95 Yeah he had weapons in Denver and still never made the playoffs. The great ones can still excel without great talent around them. Manning is doing it this year, Brady did it early in his career and Montana also did it earlier in his career. Cutler has a great arm but he is not a great QB.
@landinmycourt your dumb... did you know that all those qbs that u mentioned have good o-lines. . football is a team sport, u wouldnt know that cause u spent all your life sitting on the couch eating cheetos and judging qb's performance. try to play on a football team and you will find out that havving good route running recivers and a decent o line is crucial.
@jigsaw5401 In 2008 Cutler was sacked 11 times, threw 18 INT's and finished with an 8-8 record. In 1981 Joe Montana was sacked 26 times, threw 12 INT's and won his 1st SB. In 1984 Montana was sacked 26 times, threw 10 INT's and won his 2nd SB. In 1988 Montana was sacked 34 times, threw 10 INT's and won his 3rd SB. In 1989 Montana was sacked 33 times, threw 9 INT's and won his 4th SB. Those aren't my opinions, those are the FACTS!!! Don't believe me, then look them up.
agree with him or not, he's a professional at what he does and is dead on in most cases. cutler is too cocky with his arm strength... you saw how he overthrew not one but TWO wide open receivers that would have been an easy 6. so glad we didn't trade for him in the offseason. that would have been a big mistake.
Yeah Kiper did call it.....but I still hope he comes down with a case of knuckle cancer. Listening to him talk makes me wanna punch a nun in the face.
