Geforce 5200 FX fails..

the fx5200 is a card from 2003. what do you expect? I use to play a ton of counter-strike source with it and it never died unlike today's cards.

the previous owner put a fx5200 now i know why, BECAUSE THERE LIKE 10 pounds, i tired oblivion 1 FPS i had to get oldblivion and .ini mod and then i tired Driv3r its ok but then i tried GTA SA 800x600 20fps WTF?

I still have two of these cards still working and operational on my office computers. Even back when these were new, the FX5200 was an entry-level graphics card. I used to play Half-Life 2 on my FX5200 at max resolution, low settings. No HDR.

You can't expect performance from an entry-level card. However, it is now a good cheap alternative if you've got spare mobos with AGP slots for office computers.

yea, gta sa, css, everything until 2006 more or less. I spent 100s of hours playing css and gta sa with that card.

It makes me sad that I don't have it anymore, would've been a great piece of history :/

Wow dude. How the fuck would buy a 5200FX now. They're not selling anymore, they're ancient. That was a decent graphic card some time, but now of course newer models are coming. Even the 590GTX in 10 years will be shit. :)

I don't know why there is so much hate for these cards. The card design is originally from 2003. The components in your computer need to fit what you are planning to do with that computer. A video card design from 2003 will not play modern games but it wasn't designed in 2003 to play games like Crysis.

I own 6 desktop computers. I purchased this card for a computer that I originally purchased in 2000 and use for pre 2000 games. Mine is the PNY 256mb, 128bit card. Read before you buy.
