  • Simply beautiful, and the mark of just how wonderful Gerry Rafferty was. An amazing thou complex man, but genius allows it. God luv you, Gerry miss your music an my biggest regret is that I never got to see you perform live maybe because you were a difficult bugger?!!!!

  • The song is a tribute to his mother. His father wasn't the best! Hopefully his mother heard this song.

  • gerry nobody can touch you for lyrics abolutley the best ,never to be forgotten

  • Trying to find his 1966 single Benjamin Day

  • Gerry at his most poignant and haunting (especially in this version). I'm just one of the masses saddened by his passing. I once led the applause at the Hammersmith Apollo in '93 when he walked on in darkness with his band, and he gave me a thumbs up ! It was the closest I got to meeting him, but it was a proud moment.

  • @CroxleyEducator Caught him on the same tour at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Top Man with a Top Band. R.I.P.

  • Thank you, this song has been with me for many years

  • Thankyou for the music Gerry.(this is my life right here,it's as if this is written for me ). I am crying xxxx

  • Sweet Sacrament Devine, indeed !!

  • This song demonstrates Gerry Rafferty's versatility very well. It may not be 'main stream', but it is thoughtful, touching and a delight to the ear. We have lost a great talent in this quiet man's passing, but eternity will probably have more good music than it can handle now. Thanks for so much good music, Gerry and thanks, too, CapnQuisp, for the post.
