10 year old graphics and gameplay are still 10 years old no matter how good they might have been at the time.

There's nothing wrong with the game. I'm just trying to point out how ridiculous it is that the koreans treat it and the players like it's anything but an old PC game.

The graphics and gameplay were good 10 years ago and 9 years ago and 8 years ago and so on until now. As far as I know, the game hasn't changed significantly at any point, aside from bugs and maybe balance issues being fixed.

Seems pretty foolish to me to try to point out ridiculousness in something that's not particularly ridiculous at all, but interesting and entertaining. Personally I have enjoyed and can still very well enjoy video games that are even older than Starcraft.

They were good 10 years ago, but not now. There's a new standard for graphics and gameplay that is expected from games and RTS games in general.

I already said that there's nothing wrong with the game. It's fine. My point is that koreans take it far too seriously for whatever reason, and it's absurd.

People are taking this way too personal as if I'm attacking the game for being what it is: An old RTS. I'm not. I'm attacking the korean players for making it out to be something more than it is.

Starcraft's gameplay and graphics are just fine even today. Just like those of many other games that are even older than Starcraft. There is nothing particularly absurd about liking Starcraft as a sport, be it Koreans or others. Starcraft seems to have worked well as a sport so far.

I'm just pointing out that you're wrong when you make the assertions that you do - nothing more, nothing less. That's why I think you're being a fool.

If starcraft came out today rather than before, exactly as it was 10 years ago, it would not be able to compete with today's games. It would be compared to the same standards that have been set by these newer games. It wouldn't be able to garner or hold the following it already has.

And no, I am not wrong. Look at any game from an older console that was ported to a newer one with little to no changes. It will receive a lower score because of the comparison to more modernized games.

The fact is that newer iterations of Command and Conquer, World in Conflict, Supreme Commander, etc. aren't fun to watch. Starcraft, at least for myself and many other people around the world, is. That's all that matters.

What your argument TRIES to prove (though you don't seem to grasp it) is that Starcraft shouldn't be PLAYED anymore. And it's a retarded idea.

As home entertainment, it is outdated. But as a sport driven by intellect and dexterity, it might as well be, again, chess.
