After reading your intro, you said he is the only one to know that this the Iraq war would turn out poorly? Have you heard of Ron Paul? He not only predicted it, but he also voted against it. Ron Paul is the only one to have done that. He also voted against the Patriot Act...did Obama?

Hey PMorphy if you read closely I said "one of the only people" I know of Ron Paul and Kucinich but Kucinich unfortunately don't have the votes and i don't think the Ron Paul voters realize but his version of pure capitalism already failed us and will never return as a form of Government again. I do think Ron Paul is a good man though and a patriot.

Yeah I'm sure. FDR had to create the New Deal which included Social Security because millions of hard working Americans eventually got too old to work and left literally millions of senior citizens in poverty.

Conservatives called it socialism and Democrats consider it effective Government. I hope people haven't convinced you that Democrats are Socialists or Communists because that's just flatout wrong.

Good point. We are at the cusp of the "Baby- Boomers" now. In 2017, this country has to pay its foreign debts...hold on tight, it's not going to be good. Not to mention Bush has over a year left in office. I wouldn't be surprised if this country goes into a depression. We owe China about a Trillion dollars, all in all, we are about broke.

If China tries to cash in their markers, this country will either go to war with China and paint them as an "Evil Empire", or we will just have to pay up.  Either way, this country will be screwed. China is already posturing for the middle east oil with Russia! My advice is to start investing in as much Gold as you can.

I don't believe in everything that Ron Paul says, but I do believe in keeping this country safe. Larger government, in turn, will corrode our liberties and make increasingly vulnerable as a nation.

I like Ron Paul and if all conservatives were as much of a stand-up guy as he is I think our country would be a better place. I believe in effective gov't you don't and thats okay. In my view a bigger gov't doesn't make up for hard work and personal resposibility though. It's been a fun conversation. I just pray that if a Republican is Pres. it is Ron Paul and not Giuliani!

Giuliani not being President is what we can agree upon. I was in the military when I was your age, and I have witnessed how the U.S. government works. In fact, no one wanted to go to their hospitals or trust them with sensitive issues. The perfect oxymoron was: Military Intelligence. Everyone knew it. Trusting them with our health care is concerning. Thanks for your words :)

What change will there be? Try affordable health care, smart foreign policy, a move towards energy independence so we don't have to rely on the middle east to keep our country moving, tax cuts aimed at middle class families and lower income workers instead of being in favor of the wealthy.

I don't think its time for smaller government but for effective government.

That all sounds good, but "effective government"? I my opinion, the only way for the government to become more effective, is to make it smaller. Sounds like he wants it to be larger. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice for all citizens to have free health care, but corporate America is strangling us.
