  • oooh, a clear disk.. i get 2 of those with every pack of cdr's i buy

  • Those HVD disc are theorized to store up to 6TB.

  • Guess some big company saw a future without this product because there product made more money in the long run, and bought the whole shebang.

  • this is vaporware

  • its 2011

so what happened to this tech ?

  • @labobo your right .. capitalism hollywood cant compete, its coming out in 2016

    futuretimeline. net/ 21stcentury/ 2016

  • @hurasane No they have it already, check online but right now its extremely expensive and their waiting for the price to drop.

  • @labobo They have it but it is extremely expensive and their waiting for the price to drop.

  • holy shit inphase made it!! yayayy

  • Why do all these holographic storage videos have comments about Nintendo and Sony!?

  • because nintendo is investigating this new technology...

  • Rumors had it that Nintendo was teaming up with a company creating these disks to either be used in the Wii or in a future console.

Who knows, Nintendo's R&D budget this time around is immense, we might just see these have a release in 2011.

  • so its a normal hard drive where you can install windows on and play games and other things? or does this just work good for movies? because i think it would be a little bit messed up if there are so many files around the disc, windows would propably take long to boot

  • why is the disc round? what a waist of space.

a cube or a flat square would have been better.

    or am i wrong?

  • its so the drive will be compatible with last generation disks.

  • Nintendo is working with this Company to work on something like this.

  • the nintendo wii2 (?) is more than likely going to have it.

nintendo was wise skiping blue ray.

  • lets hope its not a wii 2.0, and more of a completely new console.. the new storage will allow for a huge leap in visuals, and a mindblowing control system? they wont confirm it until at least late next year though... id imagine E3 2010...

  • well, as soon as the information is released Sony is going to "push back the PS3", so it can once again copy nintendo.....

  • its the way it goes... wii's motion sensing "quick lets slap on a sixaxis control that will be barely used in games and doesnt function correctly! that'll make us look superior!". shame, really. lets just hope that Nintendo dont reveal anything too soon, so sony dont have time to copy it.

  • yea,

a couple of my sony fan boy friends really enjoyed that cheap gimmick thats suppose to make "the ps3s motion sensor better than the wiis" since its six axis.

  • Same, they claim that it 'enhances play' and its 'just like the Wii's'. I know the Wiis is by no means perfect, but it is lightyears ahead of the Ps3's quick botch job gimmick. lets hope nintendo smash any competition next generation, or at least prevent any form of copying

  • well we all know that the psp2 is going to be touch screen...

  • yep, and with the arrival of the DSi... maybe SD storage and a camera built in? That would be original, and in no way stolen from Nintendo...

  • lol, sony is just going to add a couple more pixels to the camera and make it sound so much more supperiors to the DS

  • Its very annoying. When you look at it, Nintendo have always been leading new technology... the Game and Watch used 2 screens, the Virtual boy was WAY ahead of its time, the gameboy was a phenomonal success, and even current genrations - the gamecube (overall) had better graphics power than the PS2! (though the Xbox was better than both) - and as for the Wii, well, its lightyears ahead of the PS3 and 360's control methods. You can always trust nintendo to come up with fresh and interesting ideas

  • and you can always trust sony to steal the ideas,

well atleast microsoft has inuff dignity not to obviously steal nintendo/sony ideas.

  • And what ideas are they? beacuse the wii has nothing new that hasnt been done before. Eyetoy ( playstation ) 4-5 years ago. Playstation was also the first games console to have online gaming.

  • @mgoandy33 LOL The Dreamcast was.

  • @thedarkone2134 Yer I know that, I forgot all about Dreamcast oops.

  • lol you obviously don't know anything about microsoft. To say that they have dignity is like calling blackwater security a humanitarian organization.

  • Hackers will take this apart and will use the 3D recording feature for 3D art and will burn pictures into light sensitive gel. Just use the focal length to extend the burning.

  • HVD, is a spinning disc... It could be holographic cube. I saw one - the Gallium+Potassium Titanide(GaK2Ti3) crystal being rendered by a X-ray laser (to write up to 220 TB data) - UV laser is also operable - but it will have lesser memory.

  • I want my HVD! =) Holographic disc is the future!

  • u bet,but right now its Blu rays time to shine.Imagine the impact on game industries of using Blu rays................
