...I'm supposing that a tipping fee or tax applied for waste drop off or curbside pick up..

In cities near me they hold

"Free trash exchange days",..where residents place unwanted items on their driveways on an announced weekend, ..& ppl are free to pick up if they wish.

Eventually your city will give in, as it counts its pennies & find

"Hey the less we pick up & bury,..the greater costs recouped".

It would be a municipal decision..

hell yeah! it does pay too be a garbage picker, it starts getting scary, when Barbecues you find on the side of the street are at the same level as your own, i mean in condition wise, so i am always upgrading repairing and replacing parts on my Barbecue, people throw out good stuff! plus i pick up BQQ's for scrap metal, along with many other metal objects, one mans junk is another mans treasure! garbage picking is smart, and i see no problem with it, you can find some nice stuff, for sure

Ya, it does suck. I see people garbage-picking often though, so I don't think it's really enforced much. It's also illegal to walk along rail-road tracks. Seems like everythings illegal where I live!

I found a hude CRT floor model tv in the garbage the other day, it didn't work too well so we tossed it back to the curb & upon doing so I accidentally dropped it on it's back & of course the back end of the tube pop & when the air came in, it force all the grey stuff in the front middle of the tube aside as if it were a small black hole LOL, I wish I had my cam at the time, lol
