You have to try it. I've done it all; surfing, skateboarding, longboarding, bmxing, water skiing and nothing has felt freer than snowboarding. I've never skied before but I imagine it's close to the same feeling. Boarding & skiing isn't as difficult to learn as people make it seem, the first few days I fell.. a lot, but then I got used to riding on an edge. After I was comfortable riding on my heel edge I began riding on my toe edge. After one month I was passing yearly participants.
