Romans 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
For the second consecutive day, LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson and other leaders described, praised and celebrated the church's long-standing efforts to aid the poor.
The LDS Church's welfare program is "inspired of God," Monson told more than 21,000 people in the Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City, and millions more watching via satellite in chapels across the world.
I really enjoy debating people who misrepresent what their own faith really teaches. Expecially those that dont know I am an estranged member but still a member none the less and know what is currently being taught. Why do people believe they have to lie to make their faith look good? :P
They fell in love and were married. And because of a testimony of the Spirit, which began as they heard the words of priesthood holders under the influence of the Holy Ghost, they were sealed for eternity by priesthood power
The boy and the girl chose to be baptized. The two of them met for the first time on the dusty trail years later, walking hundreds of miles to the mountains of western America. They talked as they walked. What they talked about was the miraculous blessing that in all the world, the servants of God had found them and even more miraculous, that they knew their message was true.
Both of them heard a priesthood holder testify of the restored gospel—for the girl by the fireplace of her little home in Switzerland, and for the boy it was sitting in the balcony of a rented hall in America. Both of them knew by the Spirit that the message those elders brought to them was true.
One of those ancestors was a young girl living on a small farm in Switzerland. Another was a young man, an orphan and an immigrant to the United States from Germany, living in St. Louis, Missouri.
here is something that is interesting if you care to check it out. I was once a catholic and can attest to the catholic and christian portion personally. As for the Mormon and Jehovah's witness... well, i wont be able to change anyone's stance on anything. Only God can truly change a person's heart.
Please do not insult me with name calling and derogatory terms. also please do not call others names, it detracts from honest arguments.
SALT LAKE CITY -- Evangelical leaders from across the country will be here Thursday for their first ever board meeting in predominantly Mormon Utah, and experts say the significance extends beyond the religious divide.
@omiolo This would be important to the LDS if this was to try to make Mormonism a denomination, but that has nothing to do with this meeting. Gregory Johnson (a ex-mormon) is just trying to bring evangelicals stronger into Utah. This is nothing significant except it can bring the truth to more lost Mormons.
@Exodus314IAM "except it can bring the truth to more lost Mormons."
how about the truth about why the last leader of the EVANGELICALS was kicked out? How about why he too had a drug habit and liked prostitutes? Did him and Shawn McCraney serve the same master, because their fruits are the same?
@omiolo "leader of the EVANGELICALS" the leader of the trut evangelicals is Jesus alone...no man. Mormons follow man, man and man. Mormons have no idea of who Jesus is and what He did for us all, the worst thing is they are fooled by man into a false Jesus!
Trust Jesus alone not man. Trust the inspired by God Bible alone not other writings by MAN.
You cannot save you, only Jesus can save you and me! trust Jesus...thats it!
@Exodus314IAM "the leader of the trut evangelicals is"
why don't you give me a list of who the FALSE leaders and true leaders are since I believe you are WELL aware of the countless different EVANGELICAL organizations and their leaders.
@Exodus314IAM Jesus is the head of the Church: "And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all," (Eph. 1:22-23)
Four hundred years ago, 54 scholars put the finishing touches on seven years of work spent creating the King James Version of the Bible.
There have been subsequent discoveries of new texts and a profusion of alternate translations, but the KJV is still the English Bible of choice for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

@PCEggo You have no idea what I understand. I dare you to start looking into Joseph Smith's history. And not the church's version-the accurate version.
@sonsofmosiah i do. I don't just roll with what the church comes to me with, it doesn't satisfy me. I do my own studys. You're right, there's a lot of accusation to go around, but you gotta be careful too. For example, in his day, the enemies of Jesus stirred up the public against him and created quite a rukus. Many were convinced he was a liar, or a power-whongerer, or whatever. If Joseph was a prophet, we can expect the same attitude. There might be a good argument here or there...
@sonsofmosiah but Anti-Mormons both Ex's and other Christians' books will also use two or three dozen arguments and accusations that the authors must have known were invalid. For example, Joseph Smith is still attacked as a swindler for the Kirtland Safetly Society failing, when in reality, the Kirtland ledger book has been found, studied by everyone, friend and foe, and there are no illicit transactions in it.
You think Smith was a phony, but its a phony image of Smith in your head you hate.
@omiolo I've always enjoyed stirring shit up. Even when I was LDS. For instance, when there was a singles broadcast a few years ago telling us we had to date at least once a week and they had to have the three "p's" Planned, Paired, and Paid for, I openly criticized the church asking who they thought was going to pay for those weekly dates. I was a poor college student with barley enough money to pay the rent. I'll date when I'm damn well ready, willing and able, thank you very much.
Drinking tea reduces cholesterol, contains antioxidants, reduces cavities and gum disease, increases bone density, and it can even help you loose weight!
@TsarIvanIV Tea has tanic acid that is used in the tanning of leather and other hides. so you are slowly tanning your stomach. we can drink herbal tea but not sweet or iced tea.
@omiolo That is absolutly a lie. The Chineese and Japaneese having been drinking tea for thousands of years and have allways had a tendency to live longer.
@omiolo If you believe in the mormon God, they teach the holy spirit cannot aboube forever in your heart, they teach it looks like an invisible man and moves really fast from believer to believer. We can debate this and I can pull out guotes if you wish. Or you can admit this and save yourself some embarrisment.
After a three-month investigation, Provo Fire & Rescue Fire Marshal Lynn Schofield determined that the fire started when a technician left a lighting fixture too close to a wooden speaker box in the tabernacle's attic the night of Dec. 16. The light fixture, which was still connected to power, heated the wood during a dress rehearsal for Lex de Acevedo's "Gloria" to the point that it ignited.
Like the ancients who centered their cities around hallowed ground, the LDS Church is investing more than $2 billion in downtown Salt Lake City and Ogden to flank its temples with housing towers, retail hubs, rows of restaurants and office space.
The 21st-century campus approach is a lucrative bet that revitalizing each city's urban core also will inoculate each city's temple block from urban decay
Other speakers Sunday during the morning session of the church's 181st Annual General Conference discussed Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice, the need for repentance, hope for the future and the path of discipleship. Apostle Richard G. Scott repeated, for the third time during the conference, the dictate for single Mormon men to stop postponing marriage.
For the second consecutive day, LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson and other leaders described, praised and celebrated the church's long-standing efforts to aid the poor.

In 2010 popular Fox News commentator and radio talk show guru, Glenn Beck, received an honorary doctor of humanities degree and gave the commencement address at Liberty University, the world's largest evangelical university. What is unusual about the invitation is that Glenn Beck is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his address he talked about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the atonement, etc

Bring on the funeral potatoes. The brilliant BYU Cougars' 2010-2011 basketball campaign has come to an end. You already know that BYU enjoyed its most wins ever, the Sweet Sixteen and nearly a trip to the Elite Eight.
But even more historic just might be the program's unprecedented national press coverage. Jimmer, the most famous one-named star since Prince, appeared on ESPN so often he's now a registered voter in Bristol, Conn.
One question I would ask all Mormons. Are you born again? The veil was toorn when Jesus died for us so that we would have direct access to the Father when we are born again. Mormon has put the veil back up with their priesthoods that must be received from men, temple works that are deemed worthy by men. Very unbiblical.
Heretical. Jesus did not teach self esteem. Successful careers. Or longevity of life on earth. You must let go of the earthly desires. Repent and trust in the Lord. And you will be born again. Jesus said this was a requirement to see the kingdom of God.
@BurningLove17 Of course. Mormons strive to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of our heart, might, mind and strength. Our faith in Him brings great peace and joy. Also, we are motivated to do things like: pay our tithing, follow the Word of Wisdom, serve others, etc. The happiness that comes is a result of focusing on a higher purpose in your life, and not in earthly things as you mentioned. However, material blessings often flow from goodly living, and that is not a bad thing.
@DefendingMormonism Mormons "strive" to worship Jesus Christ. Other Christians just do. One of the reasons I quit the LDS church is because everyone is so miserable. Pay attention next time you go to testimony meeting. Those people getting up and sobbing uncontrollably aren't happy. Sure, they tell themselves and everyone else they are. But anyone with a basic understanding of body language can see they aren't.
@sonsofmosiah What? There's an unspeakable joy that is often accompanied by tears and emotional responses. Besides that is just stage fright. Why would LDS members queue up to testify of the truthfulness of a gospel, when in reality their tears are tears of utter misery?
I don't know your story, but this being the best evidence you can come up with against the church either means you haven't thought this out very well or you're trying too desperately to justify something to yourself.
You are required to tithe. I encourage you to not ever pay tithing to the church at all. If you don't nothing bad should happen and nothing should be said about you not paying tithing. Tithing is optional. Nothing you do can get you to heaven. Only God's grace and mercy can save. If you are a Christian then read the bible and follow it not the Mormon doctrine. Jesus said, "i am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me."
There is no judgment for the Christian in respect to salvation (Rom. 8:1). We were judged in Christ on the cross 2000 years ago. However, as Christians we will be judged according to our works (2 Cor. 5:10) with, most probably, varying degrees of rewards. But, remember, the judgment of our works does not affect our salvation.
Search Google. Judgment, Carm for the actual article.
@omiolo In James 2:24, James says that "faith without works is dead," and he says that, "do you see that faith was working together with his works and by works was faith made perfect?"
Faith without works is dead faith. Living faith produces good works. Christ died for our sins. there is no way we can earn our way to heaven. What matters is living up to the standard God laid out for us. The ten commandments. we cannot fully keep them but we must try if we truly love God and follow him.
@DefendingMormonism The problem is by the Law tithing was for Jews or Converts to Pay to the Aronic Priests that could only come as literal desendants from the tribe of Levi, and your leaders teach as law to gentiles.
My good Brother U forgot a few little details about why were all happy . ;-) God commanded us to be happy , the gift of eternal happeness is a gift of the spirit and well its worth working at ^_^ ( knows this to be true )
@DefendingMormonism The spirit is available to anyone who does what they believe is right. Mormons don't have a monolopy on the spirit of god just because they don't smoke and drink and pay tithing. I've met plenty of Christians who are just as spiritual and happy as Mormons, if not more so.
@DefendingMormonism The Spirit you believe in is smaller that his creation and cannot forever abide in you. The Spirit I believe in Is allways larger than the universe and lives forever in me and I in Him.
You do not know the Truth, as you and your church claim. The Truth is in Jesus Christ the SON OF GOD who died for everyones sins on the cross (Ephesians)
LDS general authority Dallin H. Oaks will be the keynote speaker at a Constitution Day event next month sponsored by the University of Utah’s Hinckley Institute of Politics.
Oaks, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, is a former Utah Supreme Court justice and was on President Ronald Reagan’s short list for the U.S. Supreme Court.

The United States collections include the 1910 U.S. Census and states’ birth, marriage and death records. There are 10 million new records from New Jersey and Michigan, 4 million from Tennessee, an amazing 41 million from Massachusetts, and many more from other states.
FamilySearch announced the addition of over 200 million new searchable historic records representing 18 countries to its online database. The new records were added to the hundreds of millions FamilySearch published earlier this year at a similar event in Salt Lake City, Utah. The number of records on the pilot site totals 700 million.
SALT LAKE CITY 18 August 2010 As the nation’s genealogical societies gather in Knoxville, Tennessee, at the Federation of Genealogical Societies Conference this week to share tips and tricks for finding one’s elusive ancestors, there will certainly besome clamoring over an unexpected gift from FamilySearch, a world leader in historic records preservation and access
"His response to the different needs of cultures and nations around the globe is — for me as one who has an international background and has experienced the peoples of the planet Earth — very impressive. He really has a compassionate feeling and heart for all people around the globe.
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, second counselor in the First Presidency, said, "I am deeply impressed by President Monson's kindness toward those in need. He is always concerned about the members and all people who are in need and what the Church can do to help."
"I believe that is one of the reasons he is so persistent in going to the rescue. He is so optimistic about people and what they can become. He keeps searching for the lost sheep with confidence that they can be found if only we keep looking."
"I read and prayed and pondered about this 16th President of the Church and prophet of God," Sister Swinton said. "I outlined and categorized his themes and his personal experiences and began to write. This last year, I have had almost daily contact with him. I have come to know this remarkable prophet and leader; the book communicates what I have learned

Costumed re-enactors representing battalion soldiers and wives presented a flag ceremony, some of them firing muskets in salute.
Meletiah Hatch saved the youngest member of the battalion by retracing his steps on the trail night after night to feed and give water to a sick boy until he could march on his own. The boy was his 16-year-old brother, Orrin Hatch.
Sculptor Neal traced some of the history of the battalion march, explaining his inspiration in creating the statues.
"It was common for the stronger soldiers to fill the canteens of water when the camp was struck and retrace their steps to find the soldiers that had dropped out exhausted along the way," he said. "Then, after giving them precious water, they would help them to camp during the night, arriving before dawn in time to see the main battalion leave and the cycle repeat.
SALT LAKE CITY — Brigham Young pledged that the Mormon Battalion would be held "in honorable remembrance to the latest generation." Now, those 500 Mormons who enlisted in 1846 as U.S. Army soldiers in the war with Mexico are honored at This Is the Place Heritage Park, the Emigration Canyon location where the LDS Church president himself led his pioneer followers into the Salt Lake Valley.
"There are currently over 8,500 registered forum members and 915 people who have signed up to help with projects," said Brother Welch. "Members or non-members of the Church can help out. We just need them to register. We have volunteers who contribute anywhere from 1 hour to 30 hours every week."
I didn't see many bible verses to support your happiness, am I to take your word on it? Why don't you talk about contraditing the word (Jesus) of God!´?
@omiolo Words of our savior as in BoM? I prefer not to add to scripture as God tells us. I walk in Christ every day bro. No1 is good except God. I'm bad the core if it wasn't for Jesus working in me..
@mcriot80 actually the Mormon Savior is CAPITALIZED. I am sorry if yours is NOT. You must have a NON-biblical God because NO where does it say that the scriptural canon is CLOSED.
@mcriot80 "no man cometh unto the Father, but by me"
I wish you believed that. Unfortunately you worship some 3 in 1 pagan trinity, which prohibits someone coming unto the Father, through Jesus Christ because you have them as ONE being! REPENT!
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
@mcriot80 "If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."
the problem is you believe that SALVATION is independent of keeping God's words. Thus your beliefs are NOT biblical! as John 14:23 says, you have to keep God's commandments in order to abide with God! REPENT!
@mcriot80 The problem is that your types think commandments are OPTIONAL. Which means you have deceived yourself, because EVERY one else knows what the word root COMMAND means.
@omiolo You obviously don't know the feeling of the holy spirit changing you from inside. When you love Jesus you want to follow them cause you develop a hate for sin, not the sinners.
Do you know anything about masonry? The inner circle of masons worship Lucifer, period.
March 15, 1842, before authority was given to set up a lodge in Nauvoo and to induct new members. Joseph Smith became a member. At the time of the lodge organization, Joseph Smith received some of the degrees in Masonry.
@omiolo Well I can promise you that you also would "feel" when the flesh is slowly dying, the flesh is screaming in pain. It feels.
And yes, I feel uplifted by the holy spirit.
But go ahead and reject the evidence before you cause
Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
@omiolo wow, you are really loosing this discussion. Anyone can see that.
You don't answer to any of the verses, you just keep calling me a sinner and that is the only thing you've got right bro. I am a sinner. And so are you.
Why do you rely on doctrine given by a demon "angel"? The bible clearly says we shouldn't.
I don't interpret the bible it says we shouldn't do private interpretations. I let the bible interpret itself.
@omiolo Ok then. Just give me one answer since I have gotten zero from you, and I am trying to understand. I don't have personal issues with you or Joseph.
Are you telling me that the gospel wasn't preached on the earth from the first century until the 19th century when reveled to Joseph?
Demanding that you be HONEST is nothing huh? I even tried to help you realize that you should take the Bible says instead of twisting it to fit what you want it to say. And you call that NOTHING?
1. Why don't you test the Mormon books with the oldest one, the Bible, if the same God wrote them who cannot lie? Since he never lies they should not on one single point contradict each other, but they do. Why?
2. Are you telling me that the gospel wasn't preached on the earth from the first century until the 19th century when reveled to Joseph?
@omiolo Please pile up your questions and I will gladly answer them. And then you will answer my 2 questions, which btw are not vague and they cannot be interpreted in different ways.
@omiolo Ooops, repent.. you just lied. I asked the first question check above.
I thought your types were AGAINST feelings? Nope.
so NOW it is a competition? Nope.
Demanding that you be HONEST is nothing huh? I...(too long) ... instead of twisting it to fit what you want it to say. And you call that NOTHING? Ok, something but not much.
Why do your types ALWAYS do that? What?
why don't you answer them UNCONDITIONALLY?? Cause I want you to see your own answers.
@mcriot80 They probably can't. In fact, Mormons don't trust the Scriptures because of alleged "corruption" and must be amended or redacted by their doctrines. I'm sorry, man, but I don't trust and rely upon the doctrines of MEN.
@Agent1W That's not true. Mormons absolutely believe in the Word of God as revealed through prophets. We simply do not believe in the creeds and councils and faulty "doctrines of MEN" that resulted from those extra-Biblical writings. We trust that God, through his spirit, can help us understand the scriptures, and we also are grateful for Prophets and Apostles in our day who hold the authority to interpret scriptures correctly.
@DefendingMormonism Then what makes Mormons different from the only Church ever mentioned in the Scriptures? If what you say is true, then wouldn't Mormons just be simple, true Christians? Why do we have denominations at all?
The whole Word is revealed to us. God has given us just what we need to know. The last bit of info was the Revelation of Christ recorded by John the Apostle, before the turn of the 1st Century. DESPITE this, some guy named Joseph Smith came along...
@mcriot80 Firstly, the doctrines of the Book of Mormon do not contradict the doctrines of the Bible. Secondly, the Bible itself is full of contradictory verses, so will you please explain that?
The gospel was not preached in its FULLNESS during that time. Truth was still on the earth, and there were many inspired reformers who did their best to interpret the scriptures. However, a Prophet with the authority to speak for God was not around during the great apostasy. The restoration solved that.
@mcriot80 I trust in the lord. before you start bashing on a freemason, learn your history on them, they arent a specific religious sect they are a group of different denominations coming together and talking about the scriptures. the reason they are called freemasons is because they tend to be stone masons. Go Figure!
@MrBlayneoh If you want to believe that that's ok... The word of God tells us NOT to keep things in secret or make secret signs... Truth stays out in the open, lies in the dark.
@mouseman905 lol... not what I want. What my father in heaven wants, it's his words, his Bible. If I believe what I want I would interpret it selfishly and personally which is how sects emerges. ....No, I pray that my will be put aside for His will.
President Packer, the church's longest-serving general authority with a tenure of a half-century, said he plans to return for the dedication.
"I'm getting a little rickety," quipped the 85-year-old, who sat while giving his address, "but I feel confident in promising you that I'll be back for the dedication of the temple.
"And I think I have enough authority to get me assigned to be here."
Windows mentioned in the Jaredite barges in the Book of Ether need not have been comprised of glass, but could have been of other materials such as mica, he said. "But where are they at this time? They are in the Old World still, Also, when the brother of Jared obtained the stones that appeared like glass, to light the barges, they were in the Old World."
That Smithsonian archaeologists would use glass as a criticism for the book is puzzling to Brother Miller, he said. "If they read the book carefully, they would find out it never does make a claim of having glass in the new world," he said, although he assumes the peoples probably did have it.
PROVO, Utah -- That Hugh Nibley was a gifted scholar is not a statement that is new to those who knew him. But the man who had an extensive amount of scholarship, especially in the classics, never intended to use his talents for anything but the gospel, according to one BYU scholar.
"My son is being raised on lettuce, peppers, carrots and other vegetables," said Ticona, who is not LDS. "I believe it's helping his intelligence grow. He's learning his numbers and other things quickly. He's growing quickly."
Ticona doesn't have much time to talk — vegetables are waiting to be picked.
"They grow fast in here. Before you know it, they're ready to be picked and eaten."
The church provided the building materials for the families to get started, along with plenty of construction assistance and training. The homeowners and their families perform most of the building and labor. Principles of self-sufficiency are followed throughout the building process.
With the assistance of the church's Benson Institute Office in La Paz, some 100 families have built greenhouses over the past two years. Most of the families are LDS, but many non-LDS families also have been included in the project. The greenhouses are typically built underground where the temperature remains constant, allowing for perpetual harvests, Sperry said.

Don't you find it annoying how angry someone such as myself makes you?
And how your bitterness over Mormonism creates that internal angst?
Just think how much happier you could be if you simply let go of all that hate.
You could be just as happy as active Mormons who serve each other, follow the Word of Wisdom, focus on family, pay tithing, donate money, emphasize education, and stress morality and goodness.
Actually, it makes me sad to see so many in religious bondage to a false gospel and "serving" a jesus who does not even exist. No, your blind pride has decieved you again. Not bitter, no angs.Sorrow to the point of intercessory prayer for those ppl lost in mormonism is more like it. No hatred either. Your straw-man argument is broken on the rock that is the True and living Christ. May you find him in the pages of scripture before it is too late. Repent. Find the true love of Jesus.
Utah uses more Ritalin per capita than any place on Earth. (The Denver Post wire service, 8/88; The Spotlight, 3/6/89). Utahns lead the nation in the use of prescription drugs, (Salt Lake Tribune April 1, 1989 p. E3). The area south of Salt Lake City is known as Happy Valley as Mormon women abuse prescription drugs more often than other women.
Suicidal Problems. The suicide rate of the elderly (age 75+) for the nation is 19.2 per 100,000. For Utah it is 57 per 100,000, surpassed only by Nevada. (Deseret News, 12/29-30/86, p.2B). Teen suicide is 3.5% higher than the national average, second to Minnesota. (Vernal Express, Nov. 13, 1991).
Within the Salt Lake Valley alone, sex abuse rings have been reported in Midvale, West Valley, Salt Lake, and Bountiful The patriarchal system where the priesthood holders authority is not questioned allows pedophiles a unique opportunity. Bishops often support the perpetrator because he is a priesthood holder (Sunstone, Dec. 1991, pp. 4-6). Satanic abusers in Utah represent a cross-section of the Mormon culture. (Deseret News, October 25, 1991).
He specifically mentioned pornography as a dangerous temptation that should be avoided.
As he was concluding, he told the young adults that there are always voices that will insist that they are ugly ducklings who cannot be anything else.
"Temptation wouldn't be temptation if it didn't appear attractive, fascinating or even fun. But, like the pilot approaching a storm, you need to learn to avoid it, no matter how beautiful or intriguing it may appear."
President Uchtdorf, once an airline pilot, told of how aviators, though possibly fascinated by the sight of billowing storm clouds flashing with lightning, avoid them and the danger they present to an airplane.
"Isn't the same principle true when you see things that could cause spiritual harm?" he asked.
To the women he said, "Now, sisters, be gentle. It's all right if you turn down requests for dates or proposals for marriage. But please do it gently."
To the men he said, "The secret to finding the girl of your dreams is to get to know many of them. Then, when you fall in love and it feels right, ask her to marry you. If she says no, you continue to search and to pray until finally you will arrive with that young woman at the altar of the temple."
Project Linus is a national organization that provides love, security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need though donations of handmade blankets. StandUp for Kids is a nationally acclaimed organization committed to the rescue of homeless and street kids
The "Threads of Love" program began in February. The ambitious humanitarian service project produced hand-made blankets and afghans for Project Linus, hats, scarves and gift bags for StandUp for Kids and art kits and smocks for Ethiopia's Layla House.
Numerous area stores donated supplies and labor to help make the project possible.
I imagine it's also because unhappy Mormons either kill themselves or leave the church pretty quickly.

I really enjoy debating people who misrepresent what their own faith really teaches. Expecially those that dont know I am an estranged member but still a member none the less and know what is currently being taught. Why do people believe they have to lie to make their faith look good? :P

SALT LAKE CITY -- Evangelical leaders from across the country will be here Thursday for their first ever board meeting in predominantly Mormon Utah, and experts say the significance extends beyond the religious divide.
omiolo 10 months ago
@omiolo This would be important to the LDS if this was to try to make Mormonism a denomination, but that has nothing to do with this meeting. Gregory Johnson (a ex-mormon) is just trying to bring evangelicals stronger into Utah. This is nothing significant except it can bring the truth to more lost Mormons.

@Exodus314IAM "except it can bring the truth to more lost Mormons."

@omiolo "leader of the EVANGELICALS" the leader of the trut evangelicals is Jesus alone...no man. Mormons follow man, man and man. Mormons have no idea of who Jesus is and what He did for us all, the worst thing is they are fooled by man into a false Jesus!

PCEggo 10 months ago
@sonsofmosiah but Anti-Mormons both Ex's and other Christians' books will also use two or three dozen arguments and accusations that the authors must have known were invalid. For example, Joseph Smith is still attacked as a swindler for the Kirtland Safetly Society failing, when in reality, the Kirtland ledger book has been found, studied by everyone, friend and foe, and there are no illicit transactions in it.
You think Smith was a phony, but its a phony image of Smith in your head you hate.

One question I would ask all Mormons. Are you born again? The veil was toorn when Jesus died for us so that we would have direct access to the Father when we are born again. Mormon has put the veil back up with their priesthoods that must be received from men, temple works that are deemed worthy by men. Very unbiblical.
BurningLove17 1 year ago
Heretical. Jesus did not teach self esteem. Successful careers. Or longevity of life on earth. You must let go of the earthly desires. Repent and trust in the Lord. And you will be born again. Jesus said this was a requirement to see the kingdom of God.
BurningLove17 1 year ago
@BurningLove17 Of course. Mormons strive to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of our heart, might, mind and strength. Our faith in Him brings great peace and joy. Also, we are motivated to do things like: pay our tithing, follow the Word of Wisdom, serve others, etc. The happiness that comes is a result of focusing on a higher purpose in your life, and not in earthly things as you mentioned. However, material blessings often flow from goodly living, and that is not a bad thing.
DefendingMormonism 1 year ago
@DefendingMormonism Mormons "strive" to worship Jesus Christ. Other Christians just do. One of the reasons I quit the LDS church is because everyone is so miserable. Pay attention next time you go to testimony meeting. Those people getting up and sobbing uncontrollably aren't happy. Sure, they tell themselves and everyone else they are. But anyone with a basic understanding of body language can see they aren't.
sonsofmosiah 10 months ago
@sonsofmosiah What? There's an unspeakable joy that is often accompanied by tears and emotional responses. Besides that is just stage fright. Why would LDS members queue up to testify of the truthfulness of a gospel, when in reality their tears are tears of utter misery?
I don't know your story, but this being the best evidence you can come up with against the church either means you haven't thought this out very well or you're trying too desperately to justify something to yourself.
PCEggo 10 months ago
@DefendingMormonism
Jesus said, "i am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me."
foxfire0002 10 months ago
@foxfire0002 "Nothing you do can get you to heaven"
really? What is the purpose of the judgment?
omiolo 10 months ago
There is no judgment for the Christian in respect to salvation (Rom. 8:1). We were judged in Christ on the cross 2000 years ago. However, as Christians we will be judged according to our works (2 Cor. 5:10) with, most probably, varying degrees of rewards. But, remember, the judgment of our works does not affect our salvation.

@foxfire0002 "as Christians we will be judged according to our works (2 Cor. 5:10) "

omiolo 10 months ago
@omiolo In James 2:24, James says that "faith without works is dead," and he says that, "do you see that faith was working together with his works and by works was faith made perfect?"
Faith without works is dead faith. Living faith produces good works. Christ died for our sins. there is no way we can earn our way to heaven. What matters is living up to the standard God laid out for us. The ten commandments. we cannot fully keep them but we must try if we truly love God and follow him.

NO, you see YOUR interpretation as the word of God. You IGNORE most of the Bible.
omiolo 1 year ago
@omiolo wow, you are really loosing this discussion. Anyone can see that.
You don't answer to any of the verses, you just keep calling me a sinner and that is the only thing you've got right bro. I am a sinner. And so are you.
Why do you rely on doctrine given by a demon "angel"? The bible clearly says we shouldn't.
I don't interpret the bible it says we shouldn't do private interpretations. I let the bible interpret itself.

@mcriot80 "you are really loosing"
so NOW it is a competition? if it INVOLVES deceit. I declare YOU the winner. Your god would be soooo proud of you.............REPENT
omiolo 1 year ago
@omiolo Ok then. Just give me one answer since I have gotten zero from you, and I am trying to understand. I don't have personal issues with you or Joseph.
Are you telling me that the gospel wasn't preached on the earth from the first century until the 19th century when reveled to Joseph?
mcriot80 1 year ago
@mcriot80 "since I have gotten zero from you"
Demanding that you be HONEST is nothing huh? I even tried to help you realize that you should take the Bible says instead of twisting it to fit what you want it to say. And you call that NOTHING?
omiolo 1 year ago
@omiolo Can any Mormon in here answer me this?
1. Why don't you test the Mormon books with the oldest one, the Bible, if the same God wrote them who cannot lie? Since he never lies they should not on one single point contradict each other, but they do. Why?
2. Are you telling me that the gospel wasn't preached on the earth from the first century until the 19th century when reveled to Joseph?
mcriot80 1 year ago
@mcriot80 have you ANSWERED my questions? Why do your types ALWAYS do that?
omiolo 1 year ago
@omiolo Please pile up your questions and I will gladly answer them. And then you will answer my 2 questions, which btw are not vague and they cannot be interpreted in different ways.
mcriot80 1 year ago
@mcriot80 "Please pile up your questions"
why don't you answer them UNCONDITIONALLY?? Especially since mine were first?

@omiolo Ooops, repent.. you just lied. I asked the first question check above.
I thought your types were AGAINST feelings? Nope.
so NOW it is a competition? Nope.
Demanding that you be HONEST is nothing huh? I...(too long) ... instead of twisting it to fit what you want it to say. And you call that NOTHING? Ok, something but not much.
Why do your types ALWAYS do that? What?
why don't you answer them UNCONDITIONALLY?? Cause I want you to see your own answers.
mcriot80 1 year ago
@mcriot80 They probably can't. In fact, Mormons don't trust the Scriptures because of alleged "corruption" and must be amended or redacted by their doctrines. I'm sorry, man, but I don't trust and rely upon the doctrines of MEN.
Agent1W 1 year ago
@Agent1W That's not true. Mormons absolutely believe in the Word of God as revealed through prophets. We simply do not believe in the creeds and councils and faulty "doctrines of MEN" that resulted from those extra-Biblical writings. We trust that God, through his spirit, can help us understand the scriptures, and we also are grateful for Prophets and Apostles in our day who hold the authority to interpret scriptures correctly.
DefendingMormonism 1 year ago
@DefendingMormonism Then what makes Mormons different from the only Church ever mentioned in the Scriptures? If what you say is true, then wouldn't Mormons just be simple, true Christians? Why do we have denominations at all?
The whole Word is revealed to us. God has given us just what we need to know. The last bit of info was the Revelation of Christ recorded by John the Apostle, before the turn of the 1st Century. DESPITE this, some guy named Joseph Smith came along...
Agent1W 1 year ago
@mcriot80 Firstly, the doctrines of the Book of Mormon do not contradict the doctrines of the Bible. Secondly, the Bible itself is full of contradictory verses, so will you please explain that?
The gospel was not preached in its FULLNESS during that time. Truth was still on the earth, and there were many inspired reformers who did their best to interpret the scriptures. However, a Prophet with the authority to speak for God was not around during the great apostasy. The restoration solved that.
DefendingMormonism 1 year ago
- Yes it does. Jesus is the only way to the father through his grace... nothing else. Just to mention one.
The bible is the infallible word of God, there is not one contradiction. It's a contradiction to say there is since God is almighty and sovereign.
2 Tim 3:16
How can you trust a freemason, and worst of all, Human:
Jeremiah 17:5
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
mcriot80 1 year ago
@mcriot80 I trust in the lord. before you start bashing on a freemason, learn your history on them, they arent a specific religious sect they are a group of different denominations coming together and talking about the scriptures. the reason they are called freemasons is because they tend to be stone masons. Go Figure!
MrBlayneoh 11 months ago
@MrBlayneoh If you want to believe that that's ok... The word of God tells us NOT to keep things in secret or make secret signs... Truth stays out in the open, lies in the dark.
All glory to our King Jesus Christ, Amen!

@mcriot80 You have a right to believe what you want to believe that doesn't change the truth
mouseman905 1 year ago

Glass in the Book of Mormon

Defending nonsense: Oh, that quip invalidates my quotes and validates mormonism, yeah right.
Truth is, LDS inc. is religious bait and switch in its saddest form as the TRUE FACTS I pointed out do indicate. OPEN YOUR EYES!

DefendingMormonism 2 years ago 2

Healthy and Happy?
Religious bait & switch is more like it.

Truth be told. LDS=much sadness and grief

Back to the men, he said, "Please start asking."

To the men he said, "The secret to finding the girl of your dreams is to get to know many of them. Then, when you fall in love and it feels right, ask her to marry you. If she says no, you continue to search and to pray until finally you will arrive with that young woman at the altar of the temple."
