God did not write the Bible. Jesus did not write the Bible. The Bible was written by men who were flawed. The Bible is their interpretation of what they believe God would want. In old Hebrew, Abomination meant "outside of the norm", the meaning of the word in the present time is not the meaning it had when the Bible was written. Different Christians believe different things depending on how they interpret the bible, but personally I don't believe God would condemn a man for loving another man or a woman for loving another woman. Ive seen the severe damage this therapy causes. when i volunteered at a gay switchboard, once in a while i would get a call from a gay kid who would ask for contact info on these therapy places, my job wasnt to give my opinion on it, just the info. I felt so guilty about it.

I am gay. I have always been gay. I tried not being gay for years. It did not work. I stopped lying and I have been a peaceful, content, honest and happy person ever since. Even within the very broad field of those denominations termed 'Christian' there is a vast amount of disagreement, much of which has led to war and bloodshed (see: history of Europe re: Catholics/Protestants) The thought of blaming gay people for the problems this country is facing is pathetic. I fail to see how someone's sexuality needs to be such a huge interest to someone else. Do you not want gay sex? Then don't have it. End of story. Period.

But I condemn being called a "homophobe" beacause I conclude that it's a destructive lifestyle based on stats from the CDC that show 72% of new AIDS cases in men are associated with gay men, and this from a population that makes up 2.9% of the US population. Further, studies in Canada and the US show that gay men live (on average) 20 years less than straight men. Smokers don't face such disparity in life expectancy.

So don't tell me what i should or shouldn't be reading. And I'm not saying gays are ruining "others'" lives, I'm saying it's a personally destructive lifestyle based on the FACTS (as per CDC's website). If you're not a gay male and/or shoot drugs with dirty needles, you're NOT going to get AIDS (chances are EXTREMELY low). FACT!

Considering that gays make up 75% of all AIDS/HIV infections, chances of contracting AIDS with a gay male is much much higher than the aforementioned scenario. Again, just using the facts.

Not sure what role birth control plays in all this? yeah, you use a condom, you reduce chance of getting infected with a bunch of things. And ?? Dishonest homophobes, usually "Christian" based are twisting data that says gay men with terminal conditions die sooner than heterosexual men WITHOUT life-threatening conditions. In the USA, transmission of the virus is soaring among str8 black females. So is being heterosexual, or being black, a "dangerous lifestyle"? Of course not. Even within the very broad field of those denominations termed 'Christian' there is a vast amount of disagreement, much of which has led to war and bloodshed (see: history of Europe re: Catholics/Protestants) The thought of blaming gay people for the problems this country is facing is pathetic. Rather than finding and excoriating an enemy why don't we work together to make the USA a country we can all be proud of again?
