@EducateDaSoul umm im currently aware of the threats seeing as i ....LIVE IN LOUISIANA. my gf lives maybe 30 minutes from NOLA. and yet somehow we had the means and sense to leave.

there was a week of time that these people could have used to make arrangements, ESPECIALLY if they needed help in doing so. but the majority was naive and stubborn and wanted to stay. i also know this bc im from louisiana.

the same people saying they wouldnt leave were the first to bitch for help.

Most people were not offered chartered busing or else most would have taken it. Most people didnt know the magnitude of the storm. Some people outright refused to leave there was not over weeks worth of time to make arrangements. It was about 6 days when the storm started heading towards N.O.

there was public help available before the storm. after... not so much, but thats in part because no one expected the levee's to break (which is the real issue; still arent fixed) and also becausr they didnt expect that many people to stay.

The majority of people did leave that city. Some people didnt leave because they couldnt and you know that. Everyone couldnt get out and all reports have said that. All reports show that evacuations were impossible. BTW it wasnt just N.O. that was destroyed. There were other cities and towns near by that were all white.
