These were pure hotlap, in the slip stream, balls to the walls overtakes.

Kobayashi is good, But he was on absolutely fresh soft tyres there. What is fantastic? For examle on last GP in China Petrov was on fresh tyres. He was 2 seconds faster than Kobayashi on a lap and overtaked him easy. I know u can say Renault is faster than Sauber. But not for 2 seconds. Sauber has pretty good speed in qualifying and even better in race.

@thfFromRussia Obviously Renault is starting to be a top team if Ferrari does not improve. Renault is steps ahead of Sauber, and the engine is torquey off the line and exit speeds. Even Kobayashi will agree it's hard for him to defend positions with "his friend" Petrov.

@Arai4lpinestars I just mean very much depends on the tires. And Sauber can be much faster than Renault or Ferrari if it has fresh tires and they have old. It is very important moment, but many people dont attach any significance to this.

@thfFromRussia your comparing 2011 tyres with 2010, there are completely different, in 2010 the gap would of been 1 second at most, and considering there was a ferrari there it would of been close to equal.

Kobayashi showed that he can race after his first race in F1 and even if he's in a sauber he's one of the few drivers that has the balls to make a move if theres a gap.

Kobayashi is already going to be a future world champion, he's got so much passion in a weaker car, i bet you any money if you stuck him in the same car as Vettel, he would give him run for his money, and possibly beat him

the only thing holding back the sauber team is the development of the cars, but they aint got the budget of say... ferrari, mclaren or the redbull team.... but if they did, Kobayashi would be on for a shot at the drivers championship.

Maybe ferarri should get rid of that over paid Crybaby prick, Alonso and employ Kobayashi instead, would be interesting

Yeah, man. Too bad Toyota insisted on Timo for too long. They had a better driver all along and he could have made a difference for the team and the sport. I would love to see Kamui at Red Bull at Vettel's side better than at McLaren. Honestly, I am yet to see what is so special about Hamilton.

@gecmartins in fairness, hamilton will go for tight gaps and attempt overtakes, but he makes mistakes doing it. like monza 2010 (i think!), when he went out on the first lap because he broke his front suspension on massa's ferarri.

sometimes i think the smaller teams have a better feel for balances, grip and brake setups, where as the top teams run better engines and aero packages. it's why you always hear hamilton complaing. and button too, who seems particularly sensitive to balance.

Look at Peter Sauber celebrate! Kobayoshi just resigned with Sauber, so they should have better results next year. More prep work, testing than this season, plus the team will already be established, so Kamui can look forward to 2011. In the meantime, best of luck in the remaining races in 2010, gets better and better!!!!
