What happens when you die? The Church teaches it very clearly and simply: You face your personal judgment, where your eternal fate is determined based on your actions, and then you go to Heaven (straight or through purgatory) or Hell.

@Fetrovsky The gospel you speak of crept into the church about 100 years ago .Paul said ,for ME to be absent in the body is to present with CHRIST..WHO IS ME ? Do you have the power that Paul had ? Have you been to the 3rd heaven ?ARE YOU A MARTYR ? This doctrine came about from weak minded preachers tryin to placate the grieving familys they bury at the church buildings. BELIEVE THAT CHRIST WAS THE SON OF GOD- DIED FOR MY SINS-ROSE ON THE 3RD DAY AND SITS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER.....only the spirit can lead a man to the grace of God.Empty out those secret chambers of sin in your lives and be transformed to the image of the living GOD...ARE YOU 1 OF THE -"IF YOU AINT GOT IT LIKE ME - YOU AINT GOT IT" are you ? dont scare people from GOD with rules and traditions of men

@MATTWITT1976 ...I feel ya brother .....i was just pointing out for others and myself how we become lukewarm over time and forget when we 1st enjoined with the Christ. The joy of our salvation becomes less than it was when we joined up .Words hold the power of life and death....and i say things most of time based on the way i feel -mentally and physically....He shows me daily that my thoughts are not HIS. I long in my heart to meet a BEING in whom no GUILE OR DECEIT IS FOUND

-cont.- Jesus did not die just for you to be reunited with your physical body while your soul is alive and conscious in heaven or hell or in some other place of waiting. If you happen to be in heaven already then what's the point of the resurrection of the dead. This is a lie. The second death in the lake of fire is a death that will last forever, that is the punishment not eternal burning in hell and never dying. And I can assure you that death will come very quickly.

@rossdaboss1959 Eternal burning torture is not love. If a male lion kills a man or takes over a pride and kills all the cubs because it's not his, do we torture that lion for its actions according to our morals? No we do not so why would God punish the wicked with eternal torture? The Godly thing to do is eternal death not eternal punishment for the wicked. We did not ask to be born and we have the choice to live forever with God or die forever.

@DLando U are right, Just like it's not love what they did to Jesus before n while on the cross, Nails in his hands n feet, spit on, slapped, etc. U have to remember, this is the world that God made even us. He makes all the rules. Yes he gives us free will to come to him or the devil, heaven or hell. It's one's choice, there's no middle ground. As a human, i agree to eternal separation, but it's not up to me. It's up to God n nobody can beat him. LOL He loves u n died for u too. Acts 2:38.

@DLando You are stepping in and playing the role of God when you say these things. If you accept the idea that God does indeed exist, then step in with your own logical understanding of reality to tell God why he is wrong. You might as well start working on figuring out how to add ∞+1. Let me know when you get there.

What is the state of being before you were born? That is the state of the dead. You know nothing, no memory, no consciousness, no dreaming, to put it more succinctly you do not exist. The soul is not immortal, it can die. Death is not a separation of soul and the physical body and the soul continues to have consciousness, this is a lie. Stop perpetuating this lie, it only weakens the rest of Christianity and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. -cont.-
