My friends and I were talking about how the new "The 90's are All That" is the Nick at Nite for my generation. I'm just afraid it will become like Nick at Nite is now. Dull and boring :(
Anyhow, I love these so much! Thanks for the upload!
Thanks so much for posting these promos from Nick at Nite. I remember seeing a lot of these back in the early 90s during the commercial breaks. It's almost like I'm back in the early 90s when these promos were first seen. Thanks again!!!
I remember watching this as a kid ! i use to watch nickolodeon all day back when it was good then i would stay up all nite and watch nick at nite and watch the brady brunch, different strokes, threes company and cheers and sooooo many other shows i miss those days :(
My dad used to do these promos too.. Got canned earlier in the 2000's because they decided that Nick@Nite was a thing of the past.. That's actually what I'm doing now, is searching the old promos to hear him. It's still slightly surrreal for me, and I've heard him my whole life.
@RetroToledo I'm thinking that there was another b&w cartoon show on Nick at Nite though as well. I remember looney toons on Nickelodeon but this one had some really ancient cartoons from I believe earlier than the 30's, like Steamboat Willy type stuff. At the very beginning I remember during the intro a cartoon voice would always say at the very beginning "I'm tirrred" then they would show a bunch of really ancient clips of crudely drawn cartoons. If someone knows it please let me know!!
I was born in '84. Thanks to Nick@Nite, I got to discover the many great classics! I Love Lucy, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Mary Tyler Moore, Taxi, Green Acres, The Addams Family, The Munsters, and many others!
So was I. Nick at Nite was such a great channel, and it was one I saw almost every evening. There were many classic programs that I first saw on there since the start of the 90s. But sadly, the classics are not on there anymore. Their "classic programs" are ones from the mid to late 90s to today, and are not worth watching for most people. I heard that TV Land was dealt the same thing recently.
Nick at Nite has lost their way. Like MTV, what was once a great channel has been flushed down the toilet. They put crap on the screen constantly and butcher the credits along with the sound. Have since gone to DVDs and videotapes.

The bumpers at 0:41-0:51 and 2:25-2:35 in particular give me a warm, fuzzy feeling of nostalgia. Watching N@N and TV Land back in the day were like love affairs cause I was infatuated with nearly all of them! :)
I remember all of these and I was singing along to most of them. Brings back memories of my summer vacations staying up all night to watch Nick at Nite. Great memories.
nick@nite sucks dick. Thank god they have Adult Swim, or else I'd have NOTHING to do when I get home late. Yeah Everybody hates Chris is awesome, but they hardly play it.
Without nick at nite i dont think i would even be alive..George Lopez Every body Hates Chris Family Matters man i would have been dead years ago if nick at nite werent here (TV SUX TODAY)
Cable TV in general is so repetitive that it makes me sick. I dont know why they dont throw a few older and DIFFERENT shows on every now and then????
Ever since they added the @ symbol to their logo, it hasn't been the same. TV Land is still OK, but it's a shame not to show closing credits anymore! But I find alternatives such as Hallmark, WGN, The Hub, Sleuth, and TVOne. But pre-HD to generation Y is to black and white to Boomers and Gen X. Nostalgia just isn't the way it used to be...
Thank you for reminding me of my childhood. I had forgotten these promos long ago, but as soon as I saw them, I remembered them all again...watching Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, and Lucy late at night as a kid. Thanks for the memories!
Does anyone know where I can find a prom song that Nick at night used to run for The Dick VanDyke show? It goes something along the lines of "Dick VanDyke is Robert Petrie who comes home hugs laura and accidently trips over that thing".Its to long to list the entire thing can anyone help?

I'll probably get bashed for this, but I actually like the new version of Nick at Nite. It fits more with Nickelodeon, as the sitcoms appeal to kids, teens, and adults.
What they SHOULD do is devote TV Land to the classic shows from the ''golden age'' of Nick at Nite, (no more reality shows, there's already way too many on TV), and let Nick at Nite play all the more recent shows like they've been doing. That way everyone would be happy, both fans of the new and old versions of NAN.
@RCTelevision134 That's fine with me. I only want ONE channel that shows my shows (1950's and 1960's). Sadly out of over 200 channels there is not a single one that shows anything good. TVLand was great when it started (as was N@N) sadly both have gone downhill like every other channel.
When I was a kid, my parents would let my sister and me stay up to watch some of the shows on Nick at Nite. Boy, the good old days, or should I say, Nites.
wow thanks for posting this i remember all these promos and im only 28 lmao but yea i miss these promos and all the great tv shows like QTBlonde22 said nick at nite aint the same anymore i wish it was :[ well again thanks 4 posting bye now :]
Nick at Nite was the best! Nothing like it on the dial today. I grew up with this channel and I think it's a shame that future generations won't have that opportunity.
@benjaminviz I understand what you mean they have moved on but its not the same. They can at least add more variety of shows than the same 3 they repeat every night and TV Land, you must not watch to know that Classics are far and few between besides "Roseanne", consumes most of the hours.
benjaminvlz just because you didnt want to "waste your time" to make a petition, doesnt mean I wasted mine, I can do what I feel is right and if that just making a petition that falls on deaf ears, then fine at least I stood up for what I believed! so sending me a reply was a waste of your time, and if you want to send me another...save it! cuz i'm not gonna read it!
I ADORED nick at nite. It was quality time with my dad, cause we would watch all the old classics like the flying nun, h.r puffnstuff, randall and hopkirk (deceased) I miss it so much
I agree with everyone. I grew up in the 90's and loved watching Nick at Nite. The promos were cleaver and well done. I do like some of the shows such as Malcolm in the Middle and George Lopez, but they should NOT be on Nick at Nite. They are certianly NOT classics. We need the good old shows like I Love Lucy and Mr. Ed.
I don't mind nick at nite showing family matters or the nanny -but there should be a law where they can't show anything that was on after the year 2000. George lopez, malcolm in the middle and everybody hates chris are not classics. And they nevr will be. Meanwhile I don't know why you have all these but thank you for posting them. I wish there was more info out there about whoever made these, and the other intersitials like "how to be swell" and "milk man"
i made an online petition on a web site called "go petition" its title is BRING BACK THE OLD NICK AT NITE, i would post the link on here but it wont let me, if u want the link let me and i can email it to u
You know how many people have made petitions saying "bring back the old Nick at Nite" or "bring back the old Nickelodeon"? Where has it gotten them? Absolutely nowhere. It doesn't matter how many people you get to sign your so-called "petition". Nick is not gonna see it. Even if they do, they're not gonna listen. All you did was waste your time.
Nick at Nite done lost their minds! This is Nick at Nite at its best! Now, I remember staying up late watching "Dragnet" at two in the morning. Nick at Nite jumped a MAJOR shark when they removed the CLASSICS! "The Nanny", "G-Lo" nor "EHC" got nothing on the Classics! I want old time simple WONDERFUL, WORTH-WATCHING Nick at Nite back.
I grew up watching Nick at Nite in the 90's, so I love the classics just as much as you do. But, you need to understand that Nick@Nite has moved on. They started out by airing classic shows from the 50's and 60's. Later, they moved on to 70's shows, 80's shows and finally 90's and 2000's shows. Like GatorsNation said in the previous post, Nick@Nite has caught up with the times of modern television. It was bound to happen. If you still want to watch classic TV shows, you can always watch TV Land.
I hate how the modern day Nick at Nite. They've caught up with the times of modern television, and I really can't stand how it has that stupid ass letter A in the circle to represent the word "at". Wheres the dam T at? Its an A inside an incomplete circle. Its no different than when someone gives their e-mail address and says Donna at hotmail. No, thats not a real address. Well, at least not mine anyways. Again, wheres the "T" inside that incomplete circle?!!!
I haven't paid attention to the modern day version of Nick at Nite (2000-present). My mother and I have been without cable since late summer of 2005, so I can honestly admit that whatever shows are on that channel's line-up now are just crap and not to be considered classics. You are right; Nick at Nite has caught up with the times of modern programming, and we just want to ask the folks who are in charge of the channel: "What have you done with the classics?"
It's weird George Lopez is on Nick @ Nite now. I thought I saw it on another channel like ABC or FOX. I don't know why it has to be on Nick @ Nite when it's on other channels...
NAN used to be good. Now they have trash shows. George lopez sucks. It is played too much. I hate the marathons. It is played to death like fresh prince was. I dont miss that crap show either. EHC sucks as does malcolm. And The worst is glenn martin. This is the dumbest show ever.
I miss Donna Reed, Mr. Edd, My Three Sons, Dobie Gillis, and several others. I grew up as a kid during the early eighties, and believe it or not...I LOVED this old school shows. They outta make a Nick at Nite 2 where they start it all over again along with showing all these old and odd promo's.
Yeah, I feel the same way you do. All of these promos were from the early 90s, and that was the period of time that the channel had MTM and the other classics from years ago. Sadly, I assume that the shows on NAN are just shows of today that are not as good as the classics we all love. These early 90s promos were fun to see, but I bet the promos from 2000 to now are so awful.
These are the shows they need to put on Nick at Nite again: Dyke Van Dyke, Bewitched, Jeanie, I Love Lucy, F Troop, Gilligan's island, the Brady Bunch, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Get Smart, Mork and Mindy, The Lucy Show, Mr. Ed, Newhart, The Bob Newhart show, Happy Days, The Munsters, Alfred hitchcock, Dragnet, Lucy Desi Comedy Hour. Thats like 19 different shows. That way no more Fresh Prince Marathons why can't they play a bunch of different show instead if 20 of one show!
I want to pitch an idea to the heads of nickelodeon/MTV studios about coming up with only black and white TV shows from the 50's to the 60's. I would call it "Nick at Nite Black and White"
@QTBlonde22 I honestly don't think gilligan's island was ever on Nick at Nite-not trying to be demeaning to your comment -cause you named so many shows that were on it-but I think Ted Turner owned Gilligan in the 90's. I remember it being on TNT like all the time and space ghost coast to coast getting to use footage from it cause cartoon network was also a turner channel.
@trapadoored Gilligan's Island was on Nick at Nite around the early 2000s. I don't remember how long it ran, because that's around the time I stopped watching. So Gilligan missed out on the era of Nick at Nite that brought you these great promos.

Here in Australia we had Nick at Nite on Foxtel, Austar and the now-defunct Galaxy from 1995-2000 when it was replaced with 24 hr Nickelodeon for kids. It was my fave pay tv channel. All these promos aired in Australia. I loved watching shows such as Newhart (1972), Flash Gordon, Sherlock Holmes, Robin Hood (1956), Fireball XL5, Space 1999, Nanny and the Professor, Addams Family, Mr Ed, Ghost and Mrs Muir, and more. There's Fox Classics today but they don't have the charm of Nick at Nite.
Guess what? Nick at Nite, Nickelodeon, and other Nick-related channels just changed their logos on September 28, 2009(and I don't mean this in a good way)!!
i remember so many of these little jingles. thanks for uploading. i miss mid-90s nick at nite, especially in the summer when they'd show a different show in blocks every weeknight.
this is so beautiful to watch thank you so much for uploading this! Nick at Nite was so awesome back in the '90s. now Nick at Niite really really really fucking sucks. and TV Land really is awful as well.
the closet u may get 2 classic nick at nite is the hallmark channel they show cheers mash lucy golden girls that is bout as close as u get 2 the old magic
IMO they should bring back shows like Car 54, Make Room for Daddy, the Patty Duke SHow, DOnna Rede, My 3 Sons, Laugh In, Sat Night Live, SC TV, those were thedays!
Cable TV was great when it was new, daring, and not funded with crazy deep pockets. Now it's big money and it's just as watered down and annoying as broadcast TV was when cable came round.
I hope something else comes along like this in our lifetime -- Hulu is supposed to be the future of television but all they do is re-broadcast the same old dumb shows that you'll find anywhere else. Cable was really special until you got into the middle and late 1990s and it's never been the same since.
Man, I loved this stuff... along with the weirdo creepy shorts that they used to put in between USA Network Movies in the late 80s and early 90s. I believe they called "Saturday Night Nightmares" or something to that effect.
I'm only 29, but I loved watching Donna Reid, My Three Sons Car 54, and Mr. Ed back when they actually showed good classic shows, instead of Home Improvement re-runs. SIGH!
PLEASE can someone help me with the commerical that was on Nick at Nite I believe - it was a song that went "Though we've gotta say goodbye, for the summer" and had a harmonica or whisteling for the rest of the commerical, and it went over shots of a kitchen (I think it was a KFC commerical or something to that effect). Any help would be appreciated!
I think all of us need to get together and create our own channel for these shows. There's plenty of us who are willing to see these shows be put back on the air. People just need to get together and make it happen! *Wishful thinking*
The problem with the newer shows is that they've all been on TV in my lifetime. I wasn't even in high school when Fresh Prince ended, but I remember it. What's on isn't classic. It's what I grew up with. Home Improvement, Malcom in the Middle, Family Matters???
Back when it was Get Smart, Dragnet, Mr Ed, The Munsters, Mork and Mindy, etc I enjoyed watching. I wasn't really alive for the Jeffersons or Three's Company, but by that time I wasn't staying home at night anyway.
I remember a claymation promo for N@N that had Wayne from The Wonder Years and Lucy. Wayne said to Lucy "Hello georgeous!" and they wen't on conversing and it ended with Wayne saying "On Nick at Nite!" And Lucy said "OK i'll be there!".
I also remember a promo with a character with a remote and he said "Watch this!" and push the button and the logo change from Nickelodeon to N@N. Anybody remember those???
Look at how much creative effort they used to put into these promos! It's amazing. The network now is so bland and unimpressive. It's like any other cable network now, it doesn't set itself apart anymore like it used to.
Right on. I look at Nick at Nite, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, and Cartoon Network today and wonder how my passion has dwindled in recent years.
We should be pushing the limits on artwork. But what I see on television today is bland, boring, and dull. It's all becoming part of the corporation that only cares about profit and nothing else.
does anyone know where i can find that one nick at night/tvland promo where the bird is spazzing because appearently its not watching iether one of the chanels[nick at nite or tvland], something

RCTelevision134 1 year ago
@RCTelevision134 That's fine with me. I only want ONE channel that shows my shows (1950's and 1960's). Sadly out of over 200 channels there is not a single one that shows anything good. TVLand was great when it started (as was N@N) sadly both have gone downhill like every other channel.

Nick at Nite was the best! Nothing like it on the dial today. I grew up with this channel and I think it's a shame that future generations won't have that opportunity.
ps- TVLand sucks!
icecreamforcrowhurst 1 year ago
@benjaminviz I understand what you mean they have moved on but its not the same. They can at least add more variety of shows than the same 3 they repeat every night and TV Land, you must not watch to know that Classics are far and few between besides "Roseanne", consumes most of the hours.

Ed.
caseyw1286 1 year ago

QTBlonde22 2 years ago
You know how many people have made petitions saying "bring back the old Nick at Nite" or "bring back the old Nickelodeon"? Where has it gotten them? Absolutely nowhere. It doesn't matter how many people you get to sign your so-called "petition". Nick is not gonna see it. Even if they do, they're not gonna listen. All you did was waste your time.
benjaminvlz 1 year ago
Nick at Nite done lost their minds! This is Nick at Nite at its best! Now, I remember staying up late watching "Dragnet" at two in the morning. Nick at Nite jumped a MAJOR shark when they removed the CLASSICS! "The Nanny", "G-Lo" nor "EHC" got nothing on the Classics! I want old time simple WONDERFUL, WORTH-WATCHING Nick at Nite back.
NuBeginnin 2 years ago
I grew up watching Nick at Nite in the 90's, so I love the classics just as much as you do. But, you need to understand that Nick@Nite has moved on. They started out by airing classic shows from the 50's and 60's. Later, they moved on to 70's shows, 80's shows and finally 90's and 2000's shows. Like GatorsNation said in the previous post, Nick@Nite has caught up with the times of modern television. It was bound to happen. If you still want to watch classic TV shows, you can always watch TV Land.
benjaminvlz 1 year ago
I hate how the modern day Nick at Nite. They've caught up with the times of modern television, and I really can't stand how it has that stupid ass letter A in the circle to represent the word "at". Wheres the dam T at? Its an A inside an incomplete circle. Its no different than when someone gives their e-mail address and says Donna at hotmail. No, thats not a real address. Well, at least not mine anyways. Again, wheres the "T" inside that incomplete circle?!!!
GatorsNation 2 years ago
I haven't paid attention to the modern day version of Nick at Nite (2000-present). My mother and I have been without cable since late summer of 2005, so I can honestly admit that whatever shows are on that channel's line-up now are just crap and not to be considered classics. You are right; Nick at Nite has caught up with the times of modern programming, and we just want to ask the folks who are in charge of the channel: "What have you done with the classics?"

GatorsNation 2 years ago 3

@QTBlonde22 I honestly don't think gilligan's island was ever on Nick at Nite-not trying to be demeaning to your comment -cause you named so many shows that were on it-but I think Ted Turner owned Gilligan in the 90's. I remember it being on TNT like all the time and space ghost coast to coast getting to use footage from it cause cartoon network was also a turner channel.
trapadoored 1 year ago

Man, I used to watch Nick at Nite all the time. It was sophisticated, quiet and always had great shows.
Nowadays, the oldest thing on there is Fresh Prince, which is awesome, but on at like.. 4 AM?
The shows they push suck, too.. Like George Lopez and Glenn Martin, DDS.
Bring back shows like Cheers, the Cosby Show, Three's Company, and Gilligan!

SIGH!

Any help would be appreciated!

JDUB73EB 2 years ago
Look at how much creative effort they used to put into these promos! It's amazing. The network now is so bland and unimpressive. It's like any other cable network now, it doesn't set itself apart anymore like it used to.
AtomicSpike 2 years ago
