  • great job bro

  • your going to the fire steel

  • ill just use a fucking lighter or matches lol

  • Whoaaa! You really need training missy !! Simply keep the back of the knife in contact and scrape along the flint length. You may have to repeat the process a couple of times. And be careful, We will worry about you!!

  • You seem to be hitting your striker you need to slide

  • dude just take a knife and strike the steel with knife and it takes like 3 4 5 or less to start it but good job

  • great video, great fire......good luck!

  • Great just great!!

  • 6 minutes >:(

  • a easy timber to make burns for four min look it up cotton balls with prtullem jelly sorry can not spell

  • i meant to say... i LOVE starting fires

  • you rock! your very enthusiastic about it and you believed in your self that you could start it....very good job! I loe starrting fires...im a pyro...but VERY safe..job well done!

  • Well done girl!

  • Good job! I was rooting for you through the whole video. It is a great feeling when you know you can start a fire without matches. Heres a tip for you,get some cotton balls and rub vasoline into them. All it takes is one spark and that thing will burn great, many outdoorsman carry some with them when they go out in the woods. Well take care

  • Great vid, I love your spirit. Best video I saw all day. Congratulations :-D

  • Thanks Breehound, it was not easy, even though I was doing it the wrong way..lol

  • I thought that was raw flint you were using?

All you need do is scrape..

    Well done though

  • Thanks maxpullara1 ;-)

  • you don't need to hit the firerod against the knife! a scraping motion with a lot of pressure will give you a better spray of sparks.

  • Hey nice job, congratulations !!

  • Thanks Honza...love doing this.lol

  • wow! great job, i was excited too when i got my first fire!

  • Thanks slingninja82, I got excited too...very excited...lol

  • Thanks for the lesson. Not in firemaking. In showing how you did it. People commented how you could do it better. A new way to learn! Like - Look how I do it, can I do it better?

  • Yes I did learn alot Saschavogt, even though I was doing it the wrong way...so happy when it started too..I wanted to do an tap dance...lol

  • Perhaps do some more research before posting next time...

Your tinder was good but put in a motly ball, you should plan the layout of it better so you have a better chance of catching the sparks.

    Don't be discouraged

  • i think ur cool make more videos

  • are you 54!!! you look waaaaay younger!!!!

  • Thank you so much and yes I am 54 and will be 55 June 16...the key is staying happy, positive and keep smiling..lol :-)

  • jeez i thought you were in your early 30's

  • thanks warrior, I still feel like I am in my early 30's..thanks for the compliment.

  • nice!

  • If you scrape the knife against the flint stick You will yeild alot more sparks. Your Tinder was perfect. If you scrape your knife against the Flint rod rather than striking your flint rod on the knife, you will be able to spark a fire everytime if your tinder is that good.

  • thank you, at least sum1 is smart

  • you are putting too much effort into it, the speed is negating the effects of sparks

  • I realize that...I am going to make another video to do it right next time...this was my first time...but now I know the right way to do it... :-) thanks for letting me know

  • That is so cool! Congratulations, a lot of people talk about doing primitive skills....but very few get outside and practice it. Glad you like the knife, it was so great to see it put to use!
