Thats a nice impreza my friend is gonna teach me how to drive stick trmw if everything goes well I might get one of those subaru's hkw much do they cost anyways?
Um, no, *you're* actually the dumbass. Because in gearing, without mentioning RPM, the automatic understanding is the gear ratio. If he had wanted to specify RPM, then he should have *said* RPM.
do you guys feel switching gears are more jerky in a manual car than in an automatic? or do you think with a good driver, someone driving stick can shift as smooth as an automatic car? someone reply plz :)
I only came here to make fun of people that don't know how to drive a manual gearbox. ^^ Automatics are for grannies and taxi drivers, get a real car -.-
Still a good thing you made the video though i guess...
you should never be affraid to use ur left foot for braking. you should exercise both sides of ur body. don't ever become fixated doing things only one way just because somebody else says so.
@allu771 true man . my cousin has a M3 with a 6 speed manual ( before he bought a DCT). and someone tried to steal the car but they couldnt cause he didnt know how to drive manual. and BMW notified him. thats why i think its better to drive manual in america. everyone here always wants comfort for everything. but only a few of us americans are die hard car fans and know how to drive manual
@allu771 well if nothing got damaged . the door was already open cause my cousin forgot to turn on auto-lock. and he kept stalling. and that M3 revs upto 8300 RPM . its the highest revving V8 in the World so even if tried to move and kept revving the engine nothing major happend
@SirWalshy1995 I dont know if this will help but say for example your coming to a red light, just put the car into neutrul then just brake accordinely. then start as normal
I'm learning to drive in a manual (it's what we australian's call a 'stick shift'), and I have trouble going down through the gears when slowing down. any tips on the clutch, etc?
when you go to a stop(say from 60MPH in 4th gear of 6 you have) do you have to hold the clutch down as you press the break along with going down to first gently, or can you just wait till you stop completely to hit the clutch and drop str8 down to 1st?
I'm really trying to learn how to drive a manual because my uncle is handing a 83 Pontiac Fierro down to me.. I know how to drive the dragster type steering but I have never drove and standard manual.. It looms like so much fun though!
@alkhars11 no one does and every1 stalls, just ask if your instructor would mind taking you to a car park if you really feel uncomfortable learning manual, if i was an instructor i would start on manouvres early on for clutch control, or you could go for an automatic license only and would mean you would not be allowed to drive manual on that license, give it time though, you need confidence
@RyanWrastlin thanks, another question tho, do you have to shift into neutral when coming to a stop? or can you just keep it in 2nd with the clutch in?
@INumba1Stunna You can stay in whatever gear you want, you probably won't be able to move away from second gear though. in the beginning, shift down to first gear when standing still.
And when you want to move away again, slowly release the clutch pedal and begin to gently push the throttle. You'll feel it move ^^
New driver? Or just used to automatics? If you know how to drive an automatic, then it shouldn't be too difficult. ^^
Decent vid, just that I wouldn't be driving down a hill in neutral as a lot of people said. Nice car though, a STi isn't the best car to learn stick on lol 1st gear goes by real quick in a car with 300 horsepower. The main thing with driving standard is learning your gearbox and learning your clutch. Learn where the friction point is and you'll learn how to get into first a lot quicker.
@TheKeyToBeingAmazing better focusing on trying to drive than eating/drinking/talking on the cell phone. plus, once you get used to it, it's pretty natural.
mhmhm its so stupid to bring act like they speak on behalf of an entire nation when they are just deplorable people arguing and what is so bad about automatic car drivers?
@bender43718 yes, you want to let go of the gas push in the clutch change your gear, then release the clutch as you push in the gas just like getting off from a standstill, if you have the clutch and gas in at the same time youre just going to be revving the engine but the wheels wont have any power to them
