I had to look up this strip on the official website to confirm that Jon is indeed staring slack-jawed in the last panel. After many critics have noted that removing Garfield's final thoughts could improve the humor of many strips, I find it especially funny that here, it is Jon who provides the silent exclamation mark, rather than the eponymous feline.
