Affliction fucking rocks, great fun. Maybe doesn't pull as high DPS as demo but it's much more enjoyable (in my opinion). I agree SB filler is much better, hate seeing drain life filler locks when I'm playing other classes. Anyway cool video dude :)

it would save you a global cooldown if you pop UA and then right after corr or BoD

Ok. I go with this rotation. i would like to know how and why i a may be wrong. what i do is first curse of elements > Shadow bolt >haunt(sb helps crit)>*demon sooul* then bane of doom > corr > affliction > instant cast soulfire. spam sb and keep haunt up.

this is for single target.

Actually, you want to start off with a shadow bolt to get the shadow embrace effect going.

Also, you have to keep in mind the haste increase from heroism/bloodlust/timewarp. If you pop these, you want to ignore drain life (if boss is under 25%)and spam shadow bolts, because the major part of the dps increase from heroism comes from shadow bolting.

Impressive! I have problem with my dps as an Affliction lock. What stats do you prioritize? According to ElitistJerks, haste is the best so I go with that. Still my dps is quite horrible for a guy with my gear:( Any suggestions?

Since I play shPriest, I've started playing a warlock as there is even less on my server! Affliction is best for dps in 4.2? And what's mana like in long fights?

@RyanK733 Ahh, yes Affliction is currently the best Warlock DPS spec, but a lot of people prefer Destruction because it used to be. The mana is > NEVER < a problem, since there's lifetap. I would also suggest getting the lifetap glyph.

@TwelveOneBlue Mana should never be a problem since you have lifetap. And if you're rolling Destro ur a baddie. Worst dps by far. I roll Demo which is still kinda in a nerfed stage but it works with my raid comp.

@AyameLovesXion Hey, I checked the armory, you have some damn nice gear. 17k is about 21-23k live. I'd say you should be rounding bout' 26ish. If you run through the rotation several more times just to get used to it, I think you will easily hit that. But 17k is really nice DPS for a dummy, if you pop anywhere over 18 you're set.

I haven't truly played Affliction since I leveled my lock in Wrath, so getting used to it has been a little hard. But I definitely appreciate this video, and the tips. I wasn't really thinking of the exchange between target dummy and real time. On Alysrazor I only hit 21k on the Hatching. Not sure if that's even good or not? I worry, because I aim to be the best I can.

No, before the patch you could either choose to add Life tap OR SB as a filler but now that they nerfed Drain lifes damage it is not a officiant use as a filler anymore. They actaully nerfed the damage because of that...It's in the patch notes.

@XxTheProdigy Hey, Affliction is in no way better than Destruction for multiple targets. You are implying that it's possible to hold 2 rotations on 2 bosses at the same time as affliction, however, that's NOT possible. As Destruction you have better AoE and Bane of Havoc.

@XxTheProdigy first ull have to place dots on 1 target.then use soul swap,and use again on new target.While as a destro,u use bane of havoc on a target,then go to other target and start a full nuke.So in that way,affli isnt much better than destro.

Thanks for the tips.. I've been destruction in raid this whole time and I've been failing at pulling more then 14k fully buffed.. it's been frustrating the life out of me so I'm going to try affliction and see if that will help.. it's worst that I'm decently geared.. and Im seeing hunters and many other melee pulling upwards of 15k plus

@Smyfhdewd wrong, haunt's damage isn't affected directly by the number of DoT's on the target, haunt itself is the debuff that boost the DoT's damage, so it is obvious to apply haunt before ant DoT's.

1 thing i didnt see you add in to the rotation is Life Tap, i found that keeping your same ration that you have you can LT directly after Haunt is cast and the returning haunt will heal you for the damage your LT caused to you, with LT glyphed it reduces its global so you can actually hit it twice if needed before your haunt returns to you, you will not lose any dps by adding this in to the rotation and it allows you to keep that rotation for a inf. amount of time.

@SubStance889 The fact that Haunt will heal you for the damage LT caused you is immaterial—you'll be healed for that amount anyway just from following your regular rotation by the time you need another LT, thanks to Fel Armor and Siphon Life. Every Life Tap is one global cooldown worth of DPS loss, so it's not a good idea to give it a fixed position in your rotation. Rather, you should time it so it's cast during movement if possible.

@remnant24 your lifetap should be glyphed for the global cd, if not then reroll. As far as moving goes you should be hitting fel flame, not much damage from it but it brings your unstable affliction back to full time so you dont have to waste the cast time of renewing it when you are at another stand still. With this play style i pull 28k single target with only a 359 average item level, on a stand still fight i sustain 30k.
