He personally sang to me "Amazing" in Tin Machine days... AWESOME!  What a Man and he still Rocks at 65 years of age! I was at the Zigg Ziggy Sputnik, gig too at Croydon in the 1980's. Brilliant gig. and was also in the Blue Jean video! What about Specemin too, at The Bat Cave! They were something else. Check this out... I was at this gig.

The only thing. That this band ever came close too was a Ziggy Gig, in terms of Hype, class & pre-show A T M O S P H E R E... But even Sputnik , did not or could not match Bowie. Period... I saw Sputnik 12 times... Bowie? 70 gigs plus... 18 Ziggy shows of which none can compete with or could ever compare to. Sputnik were good... BOWIE, was/ is GENIUS. Amen.

Yeah Tony James still in love with the whole SS idea (apparently Eldritch said that's all he went on about during his time with the Sisters) I think TJ's site has a very long (and sometimes quite dull) bio about his whiole career (in which - according to TJ himself he did very littel wrong) but I forgive him, he helped with so much music that still resonates with me now 25 years on

Talk about a badly, badly under-rated band-it seems like they're stuck in a limbo where they don't have quite the cult status of say, the Plasmatics or New York Dolls yet are denied the superstardom they deserve as afforded to New Order and Depeche Mode-great band nonetheless!!! One of my favorites! (Thanks to the Max Headroom show for introducing them to me in '86!)

i agree. i have purchased every sss import and us release since their first album and have loved their progression and style. it just stumps me why they didnt get to "superstardom"...well let me take that back..they did at least to their fans ears....HUGE stars. i mean i dont usually listen to this kind of music but when i first heard them is was like "wtf...damn badass"

The Mick Jones thing is called carbon silicone, and is a side project, but thankfully TJ is still rockin' the space bass. SSS rule.Degs has left (fired or really did leave)and Neal's now on vox as well as Duane Eddy guitar :)
