  • I love the Gallagher and Sheen acts. My brother and I about wore out our copy of the record on our "talking machine" back in the early '30s. Thank you for making these acts available. Norm, Rialto, CA.

  • Hard to believe Shean was 74 when this was made!

  • Great performance.

  • How wonderful, a simple, catchy tune, two amiable gents, and clever dialogue. Great entertainment is so basic, so direct, no frills necessary. For a few moments we are transported by the talent of another, what a blessing.

  • Wasn't Shean the uncle of the Marx Brothers? If so, I guess classic comedy ran in the family!

  • In my opinion, this is one of the greatest skits of all time! I saw the movie on TCM about a year ago & I couldn't get this song out if my head! I even ended up naming my kitten Mr. Gallagher!! If you haven't seen the movie, I suggest finding it on amazon.com. It is definitely worth it! ENJOY!!!

  • Say, that's real swell.

  • I was so happy to find this! Does anybody know if there is more film around of them, perhaps the whereabouts of the experimental sound film they made in 1925? It's driving me nuts because I *know* I saw them perform the verse about the ladies on the Nile wearing nothing but a smile, but no luck finding it online.

  • @zenspinner check here on yt-or google vids-this song became a ad for a polishing product in some countries in the 60s--

  • @zenspinner I'm afraid you're out of luck, man. Original footage of them (like, when Gallagher was alive) was lost in a NY film studio fire.

  • I understand that some years ago the family of Al Shean (Albert Schoenberg) pulled the ASCAP licencese for this skit which the felt was demeaning. I thought they were wrong. (It's as entertaining to me as it was to my father and grandfather!) Now that it's in the public domain, what do you think!

  • Great video. Thanks for uploading!

  • @Towersky pleasure-i always like this scene in the movie--judy was not a good dancer in this picture,if you ever see it
