He's being such a cocky bastard, and yet I know that his ass is toast as soon as they finish singing. Sorry, I know there is some serious debate over this but... fuck, that was hilarious.
Anyone supporting these pigs get the fuck out of Canada now. You support all these criminals coming and gathering in our country. Well fuck you too. Get the fuck out because your not wanted here. The people have a right to protest and freedom of speach. Those fucking pigs will get theres one day.
That's the Canadian National Anthem? Kinda makes me want to baton some people. All jokes aside, they can't take the chance of a peaceful protest turning into anything with 20 of the world's financial leaders in the city. They'd take a national incident over an international incident any day. Hell, I would.
@madtee87 just because things are worse in your country does not make this justifiable. i agree that many people in these protests were asking for what they got. but clearly many of the actions taken by police were unnecessary. canada is an amazing country and singing of the national anthem does not require scare tactics, and for the most part never would. too bad for you that your country is so backwards that you will get shot for that.
Yeah and if retards don't yet realize that your so called democracy is in actuality communism that protects the Zionist Jewish Khazarist Illuminated Rothschild bankers of the world, clearly u were not living in the time when the Bolsheviks (for example) invaded (all the Bolshevik leaders were Zio Jews by the way) Ukraine and due to that invasion they either killed starved or shipped off to the Gulag (7 million Ukrainians) hmmmm that's 1 million more then the holocaust how come I never heard that
Peaceful Protest... They have no idea why they are even there. Just another group of followers wishing they were cops. LOL stupid unlawfull assembly. If you want to protest and change the world at least look look like you have an educated plan or no one cares.
@PCAZCANUCK What makes you think they didn't know why they were there? You don't even know what an "unlawful assembley" is (free tip: peaceful protests never ever qualify for that).
These pussy liberals have no respect for the law. If they could get to the G20 summit they would storm the building and annoy the fuck out of everyone with their shit anthem.
did not sign a contract with any goverment stating they could have ownership over me..if they have such a contract ..then lets see it...i know i didn't sign my birth certificate...and the people who did sign ..did not own me!....your laws are void
The New Canadian Anthem: O Government! Our pay and pension! True obedience in all thy cause. With blind hearts we suppress our morals, For the Tyrant we serve! From far and wide, O Government, we guard thee from the free. Police keep our land, sterile and blind! O Government, we guard thee from the free. O Government, we guard thee from the free.

Given the disrespect shown by a majority of these "peaceful protesters" towards the police officers I believe they got what they deserved if they got rushed down the street. To all the morons that believe that this is police brutality I think you should be sent to places like China or Saudi Arabia for a field trip to learn what real police brutality looks like!!
I've seen tons of clips from these protests and have not seen any cases of excessive force yet. You have to remember that just because you have the right to peacefully protest that does not mean you have the right to do whatever the fuck you want. Furthermore as you can see by a majorirty of postings on this video any actual points to your protest are completely lost. I bet 90% of these protesters do it more as a social get-together than actually having any idea of what they r talking about!
@Dopamine666 You sound like you have no idea what you are talking about. I was there (not from watching clips) and saw the brutalities first hand.
It's besides the point whether people are there for no reason or any reason at all. what the point is that the Canadian bill of rights protects the Canadian citizen to peacefully assemble. That is what these people are doing. the fact that the cops beat them up is illegal and thats why they are being sued as we speak.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@natural - I'm not from TO and was not there, that is why I watch the clips - to see this supposed "police brutaility" in TO. Also FYI there are restrictions to the right to peaceful assembly. First, s. 63 of the Criminal Code prohibits “unlawful assembly,” which it defines as “three or more persons” gathered in a way that causes reasonable people in the neighbourhood to be afraid that the assembly will either disturb the peace tumultuously or provoke others to do so.
With 100 "black block" idiots out there causing damage that WE the taxpayer will have to cover I think the police are justified to move protesters down the street.
Furthermore, the police can use their ancillary common-law powers to regulate protests (in Ontario, see s. 42(3) of the Police Services Act). At common law, the police have powers that are necessary to discharge their duties. One of the duties of the police is to preserve the peace. If it is necessary to restrict a street protest to preserve the peace, the common law gives this power to the police.
@Dopamine666 that's why I said you dont have full information. the police even attacked protesters protesting in a designated area FOR protesting.. , the clips are all there, just search for "queens park g20" . how do you justify that?
The people you see in this clip were not protesting, they were going about their daily business, many of them live around that area. But they got surrounded by police and some were beaten up and kept there for 4 hours under pouring rain.
@natural "the clips are all there, just search for "queens park g20" . how do you justify that?"
Simple; google: Broken windows, burnt cars left by G20 riots in Toronto
Secondly these protesters were hardly "attacked" it seems most of them were resisting police direction and were moved on. Many of them cause their own problems from their own behaviour.
Something u may want to consider is that police are far outnumbered in these situations and are still resonsible to maintain control in TO.
@natural Good english for living in iran. Ya bullshit you dont live in iran you would shit yourself if you saw how the iranian police handle things. Iranian police take protestors and bring them to prisons and torture and sometimes even kill them. Going about their daily business? Since when is gather in a huge crowd on the streets daily business. The cops didnt even touch the crowd they just ran 10 feet at you guys and you guys started saying fuck you. Quit bitching.
@JG573 I suppose it's easy to see it that way if you don't really know how the riot police operate. They are supposed to suppress entire areas, regardless of activity within them. That means people who go about their business and happen to be in the area ordered to be swept fall into situations like these where the wall continues pushing people down the street until they have a large group formed of people who have been prevented from going where they needed to go (home, the grocery store, etc
@JG573 And they have American schools in the Middle East where they are taught very fluent English. Most end up being more eloquent than we are. Anyhow, these people were most likely all swept down the street and decided enough was enough and sang our national Anthem. I would have done it, because I value my constitution and my backbone. The "unlawful" assembly law is a blight on our representative democracy; under the definition used- all protests are unlawful as soon as it serves higher ups
@JG573 They did a lot more than just run at protesters. Maybe you didn't hear about the many cops caught on camera beating unarmed people. And incidentally, A LOT of people who came to Canada from police states, say the same thing that Natural is.
@Dopamine666 Did you know that group arrests are unconstitutional? Did you know that when you arrest some one they must be informed of their rights and that they are under arrest. Did you know that even prisoners of war, under the Geneva convention, can not be detained in the rain or other harsh weather conditions?
Given all of that I find it hilarious that I was detained in the rain for 5 hours without knowing if I was under arrest, without being read my rights and as apart of a large group.
@Dopamine666 Please. You obviously weren't there. SO many of the people harassed by the police that day were just people walking around minding their own business. I'm not even kidding. If the police actually were trying to effectively SERVE AND PROTECT then no one would be crying about it. But the truth is that the bullying started long before the protests. The bullying CAUSED the protests to me more raucous than they likely would have been originally.
@BoredomCorner u r obviously over exaggerating the terms "assault" and "kidnap". The police are sanctioned by law and the state to use reasonable force to detain or move protesters along. The "jeering" protesters in this video hardly looked roughed up, they r fine. Don't get me wrong, I don't think police abuse of power is at all right, I am against it. I just do not feel that this video represented anything other than some loud protesters getting moved along.
@Dopamine666 I suggest you take a look at what actually happened. There are several videos clearly showing the police STAMPEDING protesters who were just singing "O Canada" in public (sometimes in officially designated protest zones!). Furthermore, when a thousand people who've broken no laws are beaten up for no reason, and jailed without warning, charges, or access to a lawyer, that sure sounds like an abduction to me.
@Dopamine666 What would you call getting grabbed by unidentified people and thrown into an unmarked van, for no reason? That's happened, a lot more than you seem to realize (which I hope is a result of ignorance rather than malice).
@Dopamine666 Yes, just because security forces are worse elsewhere, this type of fascist behavior is Ok. Wonderful logic.
p.s. "disrespect" shown to security forces working for the ruling class is not valid justification for attacking civilians. I'm sure when you're on the receiving end of police hospitality, you will also defend those who are armed with weapons against those who are defenseless.
@Dopamine666 My mom lived threw a dictatorship in Haiti. Members of our family have been threatened some brutalized, a few prob killed. When she heard the things that they were teaching the kids at the school where she worked, and how they made the kids stand in lines outside for the national anthem . She complained and said "I had to live in a fascist state once... I will not live in one again. " Ii's disrespectful not to stand up for the freedoms that other desperately need in the world.
Signing the national anthem and sitting in the middle of a closed street is really disrespectful and this behavior should be punished by clubbing the protesters. Police deserves to be worshipped and adored. They are our masters and must obey. God, if only Canada would become a dictatorship....
@Dopamine666 I didn't say "police brutality"...but it is totally unneeded aggression in a bunch of peaceful people...who just want the cops to just cool it. We are not a police state where the cops need to flaunt their aggresssion. Just look at Vancouver now with the Olympics and the Stanley Cup playoffs. The cops here have learned to cool down..and let people live and have fun... Wasn't always that way out here......and it's not like we haven't had riots or looting in the past....
@paulfornasier Hey Paul, it is the job of the police, like it or not - to control crowds in these situations. How else do u think they r going to control a crowd of people that generally show zero respect for them or their job - with flowers and kind words?? How do u think it feels to the cop who may agree with some of the views of the protesters but still has to keep order and take ridiculous verbal harrassement from people that are there more out of collective hatred of any authority ?!?
@Dopamine666 I went to G7 protests back in the 80's....and the attitude and behaviour of the police was so much different. They set up barriers only where needed and policed them without hassling the general public. They had riot police...but they stayed in their place. Did you happen to notice thay they did absolutely nothing while the Black Bloq people roamed through the whole city centre?? Doesn't that look extremely suspicious?? They roamed from Queen st...down Yonge st.....
@Dopamine666 They went down Queen st...down Yonge st....burned police cars with the police within less than 50 yards away many times.......and made it to Queens Park...removed their black clothing and dispersed....and then the police moved in. Is that wierd or what???? No one can prove who was behind it....but you gotta wonder.... I know what it's like to be in a crowd like that...and if the police cool it...it does not normally get out of hand in Canada...
@paulfornasier well that is the point paul, it is near impossible to catch all these goons when they can simply blend in to the crowd. I don't at all but the conspiracy theories of cops being the ones causing the damage - there are enough moron kids that hate authority out there to do this vandalism. Face it Paul the cops r screwed either way - if they go after all the black wearing kids there would be people crying police brutality, if they don't they r guilty of letting this shit go on....
@Dopamine666 It happened in Quebec...and I wouldnt' be surprised if it happened again. Did you watch what happened in Quebec? The video is so clear..and on Youtube.... I wouldn't put it past the cops. We had a huge issue out here with police brutality at the summit at the UNiv of BC back in the Chretien days.... and it resulted in a judicial inquiry... The pattern is set....it's not like there is no precedent....
@Dopamine666 Did you watch video posted by The Secret Store in regard to the Black Bloq? You can see the cops constantly within range,,...and doing nothing. It took them a LONG time to get to Queens Park. Do you know Toronto at all? It was a long trip from Queen to Yonget St...to Queens Park.... How can they sit there while they are removing their clothing and dispersing?? It is absolutely bizarre...
@paulfornasier Furthermore, I think the crowd for hockey playoffs may be a little tamer than those for the G-20 as politics are not involved (unless Vancouver loses - then there may be problems if rioting breaks out - hopefully not).
@Dopamine666 In the 80's with the G7 in TO, the only thing that got trashed was a few newspaper boxes...and that was it. The police kept their cool..and they didn't have to crack down on the crowd at all. They were over the top this time....and not the first time it's happened in Canada. This was way beyond what was needed to protect the foreign dignitaries. It became a mission to block protesters....and that will always backfire in a western country. It's a ridiculous attitude in Canada...
@paulfornasier ever consider it is not the police but the crowds getting more chaotic?? I suggest u look into social psychologist theories on crowd behaviour such as Convergence Theory and Emergent-Norm Theory to better understand the dynamics involved when groups get together. Just because it happened in Quebec does not automatically mean it is the case here. I've heard the conspiracy theories and don't buy em. There are enough angry kids out there to do this shit - cops don't need to
@Dopamine666 These people were distinctly dressed...LOL. Watch the video. You are arguing points that don't make real sense. They were totally visible. Even the regular folk were taking pictures to catch them in the act....and the cops did nothing... And they cops never really explained why they were laying off the way they did. Watch when the police cars burn..and the cops just stand there...while only a few people are bashing the cars.....
@Dopamine666 It was an organized effort...planned...not a result of any dynamic on the street..LOL. Watch. I've been there before. Yes, there is aggression...but I neveer saw someone in a protest EVER with a stick like they had...and they were all equipped almost the same....that is a bizarre thing also.... ... I can't prove anything...and nothing has been proven as yet...but anyone with eyes should wonder who ws behind it...
@paulfornasier The "Black Bloq" kids were interviewed by media and took responsibilty - even proudly - for their vandalism in the riots. Most of them were probably high school age so I doubt they were cops. Also cops were far outnumbered in this situation so going after small groups of shit heads in a huge crowd may not be the best solution.
@Dopamine666 Again, I dont' agree. The cops were there in huge numbers. Look at what they did when they actually moved in..once these people dispersed. Again...you have to watch the video....and you can see that it is not a case of numbers. The cops had the equipment to take them out if need be...and they let them go for at least an hour, if not more...and they let them disidentify themselves after they got to Queens Park. I don't see firm ground at all to explain why the police did not act.
@Dopamine666 The cops used rubber bullets...used tear gas...and probably more...and they used it on peaceful people..once the black bloq dispersed. There is way that the cops weren't ready to deal with something like the Black Bloq. Funny thing about that name.....there was a group at a war protest in Vancouver that did the same thing...and under the same name. Bizarre to me.... This time, it was clear that they were acting on their own...as the peaceful citizens were pissed about it...
@Dopamine666 Having been to these protests...my read on it is that the police aggression takes away any public support for the police. But, I never found that it fomented violence or significant vandalism. I never saw anyone with a weapon. The police were doing video as normal...but they never moved in on the crowd. They held a line and that was it. I would expect the police to move if there was significant crime happening...so I'm boggled that they let them do so much damage and did nothing.
@Dopamine666 No conspiracty theories on this one. There was likely a bunch of kids that came downtown to cause trouble...and many of the drunk fans joined in on it. The police handled it very well...and have incredible support from the public. This is the difference between police attacking peaceful citizens and abusing their rights...and the police just doing their job...and dealing with criminals... The instigators in Vancouver were not marked clearly like the so-called Black Bloq.
@Dopamine666 Did you watch the riot unfold on tv? I've heard endless news about it and watched it as it happened. I'm not saying that there were no troublemakers in TO.......but I AM saying that the Black Bloq was incredibly suspicious...as they went on for over an hour...without any police intervention at all. They had their faces covered.... There were alot of suspicious things about the G20 vandalism and looting. Actually...they did little looting from what I saw on video....wierd...
@Dopamine666 If you've paid attention to the Vancouver riot....I never heard a single complaint about the Police and their behaviour....a radical departure from the G20 in Toronto.... The behaviour of the Police made all the difference in the world. I have no problem in believing that there was intentional planned disturbance at the G20 to try to justify the incredible abuse of people's rights and the disproportionate force being used against peaceful protesters...
@Dopamine666 I was jsut talking the other day with someone with the RCMP..and they said the same. The police have learned some lessons out here about excessive aggression...and it's a lesson that needs to be learned back in TO also. It is NORMAL to fight back against unneeded police aggression. We live in Canada...I repeat..not China.... Just wait until you're the person that is out walking and gets bashed by them for no reason...you might wake up...LOL
I can't believe all the comments attacking the protesters in this video. Yes, some windows were broken, but where is that in this video? It's just people standing around singing O Canada and then getting jumped by the police. They weren't being violent at all.
that guy in the tan shirt singing like a retard is soo lucky i didnt see him when i was there. woulda done the cops job for em and beat hs fucked up cunt face in. dumb faggot ass protestor. go set your mothers cunt onfire and fist fuck it with your face!!!! GOOOO TORONTO POLICE!!
IF ANYONE DIDNT WANT TO BE HURT LIKE IN THIS VIDEO. STAY IN YOUR FUCKING HOMES! DONT DO THIS STUPID SHIT IN THE STREETS OR PAY THE CONSEQUENCES! Protests like what you fucks did do jack shit! All they do is waste our governments time and money!
@Kuypers11 Wow so we should all just stay home and shut up?? Just do everything the government asks us to do, no questions asked?? Change has and will come through protest. These people have a right to and will. At least they are getting off their arses and standing up for what they believe in!!
THE G20 IS OVER SO I GUESS ALL THERE IS TO DO IS GO BACK TO YOUR JOB AT STARBUCKS AND SERVE ME MY MORNING CUP. OR PICK UP THAT BRUSH AND ANNOY ME AT THE INTERSECTION ONCE AGAIN.
ITS FUNNY, I WAS THERE THE WHOLE WEEKEND. I DID NOT WITNESS THE POLICE DO ANYTHING WRONG OR INHUMANE. ALL I SAW WERE A SHIT LOAD OF JOBLESS SQUEEGEEY KIDS BEING LOW LIFE SCUM AS USUAL. I DID SEE SOME PEOPLE PROTEST WITH HONESTY. FOR THE MOST PART THE POLICE WERE ACTING ACCORDINGLY ESPECIALLY WHEN THESE IDIOTS WERE THROWING BOTTLES AND GARBAGE AT THEM.

Dopamine666 1 year ago
@Dopamine666 I'm from Iran. Ive seen real police brutality there, and this was no different.
natural 1 year ago 20
I've seen tons of clips from these protests and have not seen any cases of excessive force yet. You have to remember that just because you have the right to peacefully protest that does not mean you have the right to do whatever the fuck you want. Furthermore as you can see by a majorirty of postings on this video any actual points to your protest are completely lost. I bet 90% of these protesters do it more as a social get-together than actually having any idea of what they r talking about!
Dopamine666 1 year ago
@Dopamine666 You sound like you have no idea what you are talking about. I was there (not from watching clips) and saw the brutalities first hand.
It's besides the point whether people are there for no reason or any reason at all. what the point is that the Canadian bill of rights protects the Canadian citizen to peacefully assemble. That is what these people are doing. the fact that the cops beat them up is illegal and thats why they are being sued as we speak.
natural 1 year ago 5
This comment has received too many negative votes show
@natural - I'm not from TO and was not there, that is why I watch the clips - to see this supposed "police brutaility" in TO.
Dopamine666 1 year ago
With 100 "black block" idiots out there causing damage that WE the taxpayer will have to cover I think the police are justified to move protesters down the street.
Dopamine666 1 year ago
Furthermore, the police can use their ancillary common-law powers to regulate protests (in Ontario, see s. 42(3) of the Police Services Act). At common law, the police have powers that are necessary to discharge their duties. One of the duties of the police is to preserve the peace. If it is necessary to restrict a street protest to preserve the peace, the common law gives this power to the police.
Dopamine666 1 year ago
So, u say that the police are getting sued for "beating up" protesters. Do people have that recourse in Iran??
Dopamine666 1 year ago
@Dopamine666 that's why I said you dont have full information. the police even attacked protesters protesting in a designated area FOR protesting.. , the clips are all there, just search for "queens park g20" . how do you justify that?
The people you see in this clip were not protesting, they were going about their daily business, many of them live around that area. But they got surrounded by police and some were beaten up and kept there for 4 hours under pouring rain.
natural 1 year ago 8
@natural "the clips are all there, just search for "queens park g20" . how do you justify that?"
Simple; google: Broken windows, burnt cars left by G20 riots in Toronto
Secondly these protesters were hardly "attacked" it seems most of them were resisting police direction and were moved on. Many of them cause their own problems from their own behaviour.
Something u may want to consider is that police are far outnumbered in these situations and are still resonsible to maintain control in TO.
Dopamine666 1 year ago
@natural Good english for living in iran. Ya bullshit you dont live in iran you would shit yourself if you saw how the iranian police handle things. Iranian police take protestors and bring them to prisons and torture and sometimes even kill them. Going about their daily business? Since when is gather in a huge crowd on the streets daily business. The cops didnt even touch the crowd they just ran 10 feet at you guys and you guys started saying fuck you. Quit bitching.
JG573 1 year ago
@JG573 I suppose it's easy to see it that way if you don't really know how the riot police operate. They are supposed to suppress entire areas, regardless of activity within them. That means people who go about their business and happen to be in the area ordered to be swept fall into situations like these where the wall continues pushing people down the street until they have a large group formed of people who have been prevented from going where they needed to go (home, the grocery store, etc
Willinthehall 1 year ago
@JG573 And they have American schools in the Middle East where they are taught very fluent English. Most end up being more eloquent than we are. Anyhow, these people were most likely all swept down the street and decided enough was enough and sang our national Anthem. I would have done it, because I value my constitution and my backbone. The "unlawful" assembly law is a blight on our representative democracy; under the definition used- all protests are unlawful as soon as it serves higher ups
Willinthehall 1 year ago
@JG573 They did a lot more than just run at protesters. Maybe you didn't hear about the many cops caught on camera beating unarmed people. And incidentally, A LOT of people who came to Canada from police states, say the same thing that Natural is.

@Dopamine666 Did you know that group arrests are unconstitutional? Did you know that when you arrest some one they must be informed of their rights and that they are under arrest. Did you know that even prisoners of war, under the Geneva convention, can not be detained in the rain or other harsh weather conditions?
Given all of that I find it hilarious that I was detained in the rain for 5 hours without knowing if I was under arrest, without being read my rights and as apart of a large group.
zTheOnez 10 months ago
@Dopamine666 Please. You obviously weren't there. SO many of the people harassed by the police that day were just people walking around minding their own business. I'm not even kidding. If the police actually were trying to effectively SERVE AND PROTECT then no one would be crying about it. But the truth is that the bullying started long before the protests. The bullying CAUSED the protests to me more raucous than they likely would have been originally.

BoredomCorner 1 year ago
@BoredomCorner u r obviously over exaggerating the terms "assault" and "kidnap". The police are sanctioned by law and the state to use reasonable force to detain or move protesters along. The "jeering" protesters in this video hardly looked roughed up, they r fine. Don't get me wrong, I don't think police abuse of power is at all right, I am against it. I just do not feel that this video represented anything other than some loud protesters getting moved along.
Dopamine666 1 year ago
@Dopamine666 I suggest you take a look at what actually happened. There are several videos clearly showing the police STAMPEDING protesters who were just singing "O Canada" in public (sometimes in officially designated protest zones!). Furthermore, when a thousand people who've broken no laws are beaten up for no reason, and jailed without warning, charges, or access to a lawyer, that sure sounds like an abduction to me.
BoredomCorner 1 year ago
@Dopamine666 What would you call getting grabbed by unidentified people and thrown into an unmarked van, for no reason? That's happened, a lot more than you seem to realize (which I hope is a result of ignorance rather than malice).
BoredomCorner 1 year ago
@Dopamine666 Yes, just because security forces are worse elsewhere, this type of fascist behavior is Ok. Wonderful logic.
p.s. "disrespect" shown to security forces working for the ruling class is not valid justification for attacking civilians. I'm sure when you're on the receiving end of police hospitality, you will also defend those who are armed with weapons against those who are defenseless.

Wasn't always that way out here......and it's not like we haven't had riots or looting in the past....
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@paulfornasier Hey Paul, it is the job of the police, like it or not - to control crowds in these situations. How else do u think they r going to control a crowd of people that generally show zero respect for them or their job - with flowers and kind words?? How do u think it feels to the cop who may agree with some of the views of the protesters but still has to keep order and take ridiculous verbal harrassement from people that are there more out of collective hatred of any authority ?!?
Dopamine666 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 I went to G7 protests back in the 80's....and the attitude and behaviour of the police was so much different. They set up barriers only where needed and policed them without hassling the general public. They had riot police...but they stayed in their place. Did you happen to notice thay they did absolutely nothing while the Black Bloq people roamed through the whole city centre?? Doesn't that look extremely suspicious?? They roamed from Queen st...down Yonge st.....
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 They went down Queen st...down Yonge st....burned police cars with the police within less than 50 yards away many times.......and made it to Queens Park...removed their black clothing and dispersed....and then the police moved in. Is that wierd or what???? No one can prove who was behind it....but you gotta wonder.... I know what it's like to be in a crowd like that...and if the police cool it...it does not normally get out of hand in Canada...
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@paulfornasier well that is the point paul, it is near impossible to catch all these goons when they can simply blend in to the crowd. I don't at all but the conspiracy theories of cops being the ones causing the damage - there are enough moron kids that hate authority out there to do this vandalism. Face it Paul the cops r screwed either way - if they go after all the black wearing kids there would be people crying police brutality, if they don't they r guilty of letting this shit go on....
Dopamine666 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 It happened in Quebec...and I wouldnt' be surprised if it happened again. Did you watch what happened in Quebec? The video is so clear..and on Youtube.... I wouldn't put it past the cops. We had a huge issue out here with police brutality at the summit at the UNiv of BC back in the Chretien days.... and it resulted in a judicial inquiry... The pattern is set....it's not like there is no precedent....
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 Did you watch video posted by The Secret Store in regard to the Black Bloq? You can see the cops constantly within range,,...and doing nothing. It took them a LONG time to get to Queens Park. Do you know Toronto at all? It was a long trip from Queen to Yonget St...to Queens Park.... How can they sit there while they are removing their clothing and dispersing?? It is absolutely bizarre...
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@paulfornasier Furthermore, I think the crowd for hockey playoffs may be a little tamer than those for the G-20 as politics are not involved (unless Vancouver loses - then there may be problems if rioting breaks out - hopefully not).
Dopamine666 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 In the 80's with the G7 in TO, the only thing that got trashed was a few newspaper boxes...and that was it. The police kept their cool..and they didn't have to crack down on the crowd at all. They were over the top this time....and not the first time it's happened in Canada. This was way beyond what was needed to protect the foreign dignitaries. It became a mission to block protesters....and that will always backfire in a western country. It's a ridiculous attitude in Canada...
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@paulfornasier ever consider it is not the police but the crowds getting more chaotic?? I suggest u look into social psychologist theories on crowd behaviour such as Convergence Theory and Emergent-Norm Theory to better understand the dynamics involved when groups get together. Just because it happened in Quebec does not automatically mean it is the case here. I've heard the conspiracy theories and don't buy em. There are enough angry kids out there to do this shit - cops don't need to
Dopamine666 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 These people were distinctly dressed...LOL. Watch the video. You are arguing points that don't make real sense. They were totally visible. Even the regular folk were taking pictures to catch them in the act....and the cops did nothing... And they cops never really explained why they were laying off the way they did. Watch when the police cars burn..and the cops just stand there...while only a few people are bashing the cars.....
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 It was an organized effort...planned...not a result of any dynamic on the street..LOL. Watch. I've been there before. Yes, there is aggression...but I neveer saw someone in a protest EVER with a stick like they had...and they were all equipped almost the same....that is a bizarre thing also.... ... I can't prove anything...and nothing has been proven as yet...but anyone with eyes should wonder who ws behind it...
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@paulfornasier The "Black Bloq" kids were interviewed by media and took responsibilty - even proudly - for their vandalism in the riots. Most of them were probably high school age so I doubt they were cops. Also cops were far outnumbered in this situation so going after small groups of shit heads in a huge crowd may not be the best solution.
Dopamine666 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 Again, I dont' agree. The cops were there in huge numbers. Look at what they did when they actually moved in..once these people dispersed. Again...you have to watch the video....and you can see that it is not a case of numbers. The cops had the equipment to take them out if need be...and they let them go for at least an hour, if not more...and they let them disidentify themselves after they got to Queens Park. I don't see firm ground at all to explain why the police did not act.
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 The cops used rubber bullets...used tear gas...and probably more...and they used it on peaceful people..once the black bloq dispersed. There is way that the cops weren't ready to deal with something like the Black Bloq. Funny thing about that name.....there was a group at a war protest in Vancouver that did the same thing...and under the same name. Bizarre to me.... This time, it was clear that they were acting on their own...as the peaceful citizens were pissed about it...
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 Having been to these protests...my read on it is that the police aggression takes away any public support for the police. But, I never found that it fomented violence or significant vandalism. I never saw anyone with a weapon. The police were doing video as normal...but they never moved in on the crowd. They held a line and that was it. I would expect the police to move if there was significant crime happening...so I'm boggled that they let them do so much damage and did nothing.
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@paulfornasier Hey Paul what do u think now!! lol Perhaps it was a bunch of police posing as vancouver fans!! Let the conspiracy theories begin !
Dopamine666 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 No conspiracty theories on this one. There was likely a bunch of kids that came downtown to cause trouble...and many of the drunk fans joined in on it. The police handled it very well...and have incredible support from the public. This is the difference between police attacking peaceful citizens and abusing their rights...and the police just doing their job...and dealing with criminals... The instigators in Vancouver were not marked clearly like the so-called Black Bloq.
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 Did you watch the riot unfold on tv? I've heard endless news about it and watched it as it happened. I'm not saying that there were no troublemakers in TO.......but I AM saying that the Black Bloq was incredibly suspicious...as they went on for over an hour...without any police intervention at all. They had their faces covered.... There were alot of suspicious things about the G20 vandalism and looting. Actually...they did little looting from what I saw on video....wierd...
paulfornasier 8 months ago
@Dopamine666 If you've paid attention to the Vancouver riot....I never heard a single complaint about the Police and their behaviour....a radical departure from the G20 in Toronto.... The behaviour of the Police made all the difference in the world. I have no problem in believing that there was intentional planned disturbance at the G20 to try to justify the incredible abuse of people's rights and the disproportionate force being used against peaceful protesters...
