hello, I had a green line on my display so I decided to replace the display. I followed the video step by step and it all worked out just fine. Before pressing the bezel back I turned on the computer and the display turned on. I turned it of and completed the operation. After my laptop was put all back together I turned it on and the Acer logo was in shade. Now when I turn it on the display will not work. Please help. My laptop is an Acer 5930.

Hi, how are you. I have aspire 6530-6522, i have tried to take the front bezel off it but I can't. i have taken the screws off and i only can take the top part of the bezel, left and right side too. but the problem is that THE BOTTOM PART OF THE BEZEL WONT COME OFF . ANY SUGGESTION! THANKS

@mimozastela maybe you just need to demount the 2 hinge bezels. if not, you need the demount the whole chassy, because there are srews under the round plastic.

when you just see the logo and then the brightnes get low, its a damaged display

90% Not the gpu. it will be the inverter or the light tube in your lcd panel. If u can see something for a short time after u turn on the notebook, it will be the inverter. Inverter create the correct voltage for the light tube. not so expensive. little pcb under the lcd panel. If u cant see anything after power on, maybe the light tube broken or just gone bad. If u are not an expert, dont try replace it. The third option is the cable :P

i hook it to the TV by HDMI still nothing, tv doest detect it.

I have a question, do this two acer aspire laptops have the same screen? the first one is 5100 and the other one is a 5720z, The screens seem to have the same specifications:

Does that mean that if I but the same lcd is going to fit both computers?

yes, but to use your laptop all the time you have to have with you an external monitor then rendering the laptop to do it primary function, to be a mobile computer.

get a extern monitor and if you see the all clear without lines, you have a damaged lcd screen.

are the lines on the monitor, too, you have a damaged graphic card.

Alright so i have an ACER ASPIRE 3680 i think its a 14.1 inch lcd screen. that i bought in 07' when i went 2 pick it up i stupidly picked it up from the screen boarder it started to slip and i gripped it harder but acidently gripped the screen This big black blob appeared and began to spread rapidly.. now i can only see through the top left hand corner of the screen, the rest is covered with what looks like ink inside the screen. Do you know how much it would generally cost 2 get it fixed?

It can be the display, inverter, display cable, inverter cable.

if only the brightness flickering it's the inverter or inverter cable.

if the whole screen flickering it's the display or the display cable.

it may can be only a loose conntact from one of the cables. disassembly the bezel and check the connections first, before you buy new stuff.

If your fan don't work yet, better buy a new fan or you damage more.

I don't know the reason from this laptop. But I don't think that your cat is strong enought to damage the display. I mean cats are carefully and don't jump on your laptop, don't they? There must be a other reason. But you definetly need a new display or must live with the splotch.

When you have a newer laptop which cost 1500 or 2000 USD, it's cheaper to replace it as buy a new brand new laptop.

When you have a very old laptop which is 3-4 years old it wouldn't be profitable.

So it depends.

Thanks for the video, it was of great help while replacing the LCD for my acer aspire 9412. The hinges are different. As for the cost of the LCD, I bought a used/broken acer on ebay, I asked the seller if the screen was working last time he used it. And indeed it worked fine, while replacing the screen BE VERY DELICATE with the inverter, as I damaged mine, so had to replace it from the other broken laptop. And I replaced the lid, since Acer hinges were very crap and weak until Gemstone came out

This metal foil is in some laptops used as a Wireless antenna, but mostly this is only a useless protector foil. It gives laptops without the foil, too.

Sorry i don't know which cable you mean. Mabye the inverter cable? If yes, its really difficult for a layman to change it and I advise against doing it. Rather buy a new Display and replace it. Then you don't waste your time.

That "L" shaped metal thing belongs to the hinge! It's normally riveted together.
