  • Make a RvD&B (Ryan Vs. Dorkman and Brandon)

  • "guys in normal guy's clothes"

and you mock my way of life! i know more of star wars than school! i own a book that tells how to fight in all 6 forms of lightsabers! you fight in forms:

    ryan - form 5/6 (combo)

    dorkman - 2

  • @droid1700 uhh.... there are seven forms and i would say that ryan fights in le-po style, i know not to say that they use styles but a few minutes ago i didn't know but last episode i actually ASKED them what styles they use and guessed that brandon and ryan used le-po because they DO really look like they are using it

  • @droid1700 uhh.... there are seven forms and i would say that ryan fights in le-pod style, i now know not to say that they use styles but a few minutes ago i didn't know but last episode i actually ASKED them what styles they use and guessed that brandon and ryan used le-pod because they DO really look like they are using it

le-pod: a saber style in wich the user attacks with a blinding flurry of attacks in order to defeat thier enemy, i in fact use this myself

  • honestly i just thought the ending for RvD 1 was just a gag. i didn't realise it had anything to do with cloning.

  • ditto. i made my first two short films in halo simply because i like chase scenes and wanted to make one (or two).

  • not jedi and sith but still use the force!

  • actually there are real styles there are around 7 forms my personal fav being shien used by the apprentice in tfu

  • i have a question about dorkman getting his arm cut off...HOW THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT??? lol

  • you guys ever consider actually learning a martial art to better these movies... it really opens up your imagination to a new view of what you guys are doing... though i think it's pretty cool shit even though it's not any formal style!

  • actually i think you could sell dvds if you wanted, from what i know, kevin smith did all his stuff in like jay and silent bob strike back without any permission from lucas, and he apparently never asked for anything for it

  • lol is the blue shirt trademarked... do we have to pay you a nickle every time i wear one?... lol

  • can I please use your music in one of my movies?

  • Hahhahahaaha, i love that "if thats still not good enough for you... the force did it." :P

  • 5:16 yuukuudan yuukuudan

  • considering you can use a light saber like a pro, i think a little saber burn through the shoulder is nothing....

  • "The Force did it." Answer to all questions :D

  • 5:09 "they don't help" he sounds so much like Kenobi

  • yeah :D

  • You don't have to be either one to have the ability to use the Force. The official term for people who can use the Force are called "force sensitives." They don't require training by either Jedi or Sith, they can train themselves by watching Jedi/Sith or being trained by rogue Jedi and then being rogue yourself. Or you can join one side or the other, and then go rogue. You have the ability to use the force, you just need the skill.

  • @goji3755 As Kyle Katarn says: "Neither side is 'inherently good or evil', its what you do with the power that makes you who you are."

  • @gnryeah tru that!

  • I understand where your coming from. The lightsaber is a weapon that only a Force-sensitive individual could master. If not, you'd be hacking off your own limbs instead of your opponents

  • I think part of what makes the videos so good (for me at least) is the fact that you guys chose not to wear costumes - putting 'Star Wars' in a real-world setting was something that kind of threw me off and made things more interesting :)

I'm so fired up now lol combining martial arts and my nerdy computer skills was something I never really considered - thanks for the inspiration! You guys are amazing!

  • WOW!!! Good answers. But can you guys watch my park wars films, bacause we get the idea of those your videos, so PLEASE??? and if you watch it comment it for me <=)

  • Wth there's official lightsaber styles?

  • how did you do the arm cut off scene? I can mask an arm to disapear but not look realisticly bloody/smoldering etc. and i cant' find any good tutorials. please help.

  • most forms use one hand . I think its jai - something that is just a variation.

    yes, im a nerd

  • How do you make the light saber move (RVD2) and float?(RVD1)

  • the right answer to: "why dont you wear star wars costumes?"

correct answer: cause were not complete idiots.

(not that im dissing the robes. they rock..)

  • he didnt have the burn on the back......

  • Form VI : "Due to its "jack-of-all-trades" nature, the success of this form was largely dependent on the practitioner's intuition, improvisation, and creativity in combat rather than the rote responses derived from other forms."

  • While I agree fully with the idea of not using lightsaber styles, it does make people feel more involved or immersed if you put the guarding poses or standard poses from styles in.

  • What I find amazing is that these guys, with no kind of martial arts training, were able to produce choreography that matched most of the experts and professionals that were used on Star Wars Ep I-III. It's crazy.

  • it is?

me and my friend do that all the time, ofcourse less good, but still i think i would survive like 1 minuute with one of these guys in a duel, ofcourse no real lightsabers xD

  • I'm just saying that these guys, with no kind of training, looked very comparable to the skills shown in the battles in the SW prequels. I say, the only difference is that here, they're a little slower and a little less physically engaging. It seems a little too rehearsed, but even in the SW films, it looks rehearsed anyway sometimes (when it's not supposed to), so,...

  • It looks rehearsed because it IS rehearsed lol.

    They are movies...

  • Where can I download the Visual Effects Breakdown dudes?

  • I can do Kendo pretty well. I'm try to master Iado right now. its a lot harder. But it's worth it

  • "Everything from Tennis to Treechopping," lol iono where that quote is from but it was genius! I lol'ed XD

  • Nick Gilliard, regarding the style of combat in Episode One, IIRC

  • u guys rock ryan is funny

  • he said the force did it. but he also said there just guys.

  • Ultimately though.... Light sabers are Star Wars... Ultimately... George Lucas.

But as long as he don't have a problem... No problem...

  • How can he after people have been messing around with SW for decades?

  • yeah but even if he don't mind his lawyers will because of the copyrights

  • dude, u guys are retarded, even the lawyers dont care! Theyre not professional videos. thus, theyre not making money that belongs to Lucasfilm!

  • pretty much dude.

  • hey dorkman has his arm again.

  • LOL motorcycle revs outside at 11:11

  • why did dorkman use a yellow lightsaber

  • thanks guys that 4explains that orange saber user that i couldnt get, cause of that i had wondered what the heck happened

  • good advice guys I'll pick up your DVD

  • LOL "if thats not good enough the force did it"

  • XD

LOL Lucas used that excuse for Yoda at the end of Revenge of the Sith (When he's talking to Obi-wan about baby Luke). Look at his chair xD

  • Lol its a good excuse XD... funny 2 lol

  • Since being inspired by RvD1, I've been renting samuri & martial arts movies to scope out moves(especially the moves that end the battle). I like the drama, comedy & action balance in the films(homage 2 Lucas' style). The panning, angles & framing are excellent too. The kicks/punches sound fx need more beef. Lucas likes mystery in the plot, so 2 "regular" guys works as well as no dialouge. Now to make movie long enough to use wipes.....thank you for the inspiration.

  • The Hammer of God? You mean Thor, right?

  • George Lucas

  • Lucas=Hammer that is.

  • The Hammer of George,

Or the Hammer of Lucas, but George sounds funnier.

  • It's very interesting how you guys say you were winging the fight choreography, because it honestly looked better than some professional stuff I've seen (take that as you will). If I ever shoot in California (or you guys in Ontario), I'd love to work with you.

  • Yes, it's called Form II: Makashi...want me to kill you? :P

  • Ya know, I was kidding. I don't see why I got minused.

Dorkman did say to kill him.

  • you have a huge point, dorkman was right about the form

  • That's what I said.

  • are u guys related

  • In Kendo, Basically 1 "Duel" Is 3-4 moves. That is one point. My brother is it it. There are no "Epic" Duels. This is for show and to look cool lol. Basically spinning is for show if you were to spin in two handed swordsmenship you would get stapped in the neck. move sword fighting in realy life doesn't look cool like in movie like this. Ryan and Dorkman are Correct.

  • in controversy to when you say duels last six moves; me and my friends were in teh mountains filming our new duel and one of my friends and i fought pretty quickly without pre-choreography and it lasted at least ten or twelve moves.

  • Are you both accomplished swordsmen trying to kill each other? Or were you trying to see how long you could make it last?

  • neither.

  • Well, there you have it. When we say real duels we mean when each person is trying to end it as quickly and completely as possible. It'll end quickly in such a situation.

  • @DorkmanScott So to have a sucessful Lightsaber fighting video you need a custom style, fast paced camera shots, and editing software?

  • where can you download the movie for free?

  • 11:15 "WTF?" lol

  • lol guys i thought you did know a martial arts style wasnt sure of ryans perhaps some sort of wushu. but i defenately thought dorkman knew fenceing. and ive watched a lot of films and read a lot about martial arts.

  • thx, ur questioning answering has really helped me

  • These are some pretty cool guys, i hope they come out with another film.

  • Totally awesome. I love your clip!

  • check out my videos!

  • The stab question was refering to RVD1..We know how Ryan came back..but not dorkman. Ryan was the clone. Dorkman was dead lol..but the question of how did dorkman survive was refering to RVD1

  • Ohhhhh, I guess that makes a lot more sense. Hah.

    The Force did it.

  • Oh I know it did...still..just fyi on what the askers meant lol..hey..you coudl have had a clone too..

  • Anyways the little movie you guys did was awsome and ovioulsy its aovie i dont know why people ask so many question like how did you survive

  • About the stab, you could blame it on the adrenaline rush. ;)

  • question if you guys are not in the star wars universe then how come you posess "the force" in both RvD1 and RvD2

  • The Force binds the Universe together. So "normal people" on Earth could access the Force without being Jedi/Sith. Since Star Wars was long ago the lightsaber schematics could have been "channeled" as was the first lightsaber. Anyone could have access to the Force anywhere, that's the appeal to fans.

  • one question regarding Dorkman's shoulder stab which wasn't addressed here was:

what happened to the scorch mark on the floor, since the sabre clearly went all the way thru the ground, and we get a clear shot of the floor behind Dorkman when he sits up.

I'm not complaining or saying it ruins the movie, I'm just curious if you guys forgot about it, didn't have enough time/money to make it, or what.

  • Oh man, that was golden, "The Force did it."

  • the force did it. lol

  • thats a good idea! i took a quiz and apparently i use soresou, what does that mean?

  • um normal guys......then whats with the force? lol

  • I don't know if I would call you normal guys, in character, since most people can't sword fight that well

  • I have another question. I found that the fighting in RvD2 was slower than rvd1. was this accedental or what?

  • lol, love that car noise at around 11:22. :D

  • And Ryan seems to use 'soresu...' (Thats the form Kenobi uses.)

  • at the end wats with da engine?! but i enjoyed this one

  • dorkman just keep doing the way you do its awsome

  • Yes It Is Called Makashi [LOL Yes I Look Up The Styles]

But Part Of Me Gets What You Are Saying But Another Part Of Me Completly Disagree's Beacause The Forms Could Be Used For Insaration And On Wookiepideia It show's You Who Uses What Style So I Would Suggjest Watching The Movie's And Looking And Seeing How The Fight But Dont Mirror Them Cause That Would Just Be Stupid You Should Make Your Own Style But Use The Forms As A Guideline To Point You In the Right Direction Thanks And You Guys Rock

  • Why those forms? Again, the forms are made up based on what's in the movies, the movies weren't based on the forms, and the movie styles are varied and inconsistent. If you really want a guideline to point you in the right direction, learn a REAL martial arts form like kendo, or one of the Chinese styles (my preference being the latter) and adapt that.

  • Yea I Guess Your Right But Just Like You Some Of Us Just Dont Have the Time To Go out And Learn Kendo I Know I Dont Have The Time And Im Only 15

And Once I Get A Job I Will Have Less Time But I May Look At A Couple Of Little Video's And Learn Some Basic's About Kendo But I Think That The Styles Are There Just To Point Out A Few Of The Fighting Styles In The Movies But I Think Your Fighting Style Should Reflect You More Then Basing it Off Of Something That Some1 Else Wrote

  • So uou just suggest getting a few moves and planning out what to do in attack and defense?

  • Actually, I found a couple of full forms on youtube.

  • Thanks guys for these vids! We've all enjoyed the RvD series!
