Ceasar Milan, the dog whisperer, says a dog with his tail up is not that great..He's showing dominance and not like you said, ready to play..From the video your dog just looks stiff and not playful really... but he's still beautiful!
@BellaDawnaa Actually he has never said that...he has said "A og with tail completely up and shackles raised is not a generaly good sign" and Titus didn't have his shackles up. My brother in law has worked with ceasar (My brother-in-law is a proffesinal trainer as well. Titus has been trained to put his tail up so we know when he finds something or notices something in his "search & rescue" work.

Why do you let your kid hit the dog? he looks like a good dog, but still needs a lil bit of training. I also have a pit, so not talking bad about the breed.
2:40 ain't a good thing to do... Don't raise your hands on your dowgs, when teaching them you can bring them to release toys for you anytime, but hitting them on the nose is not the nicest way...

@tarantulaguy1976 i agree, my cousin had a wonderful pitbull until he attacked another family member. she still has him and is training with him but there are still risks. most of the time you will get a very nice, loving dog, but they have been bred to fight which in my opinion is wrong. yes, most dogs it has been bred out of, but you can never be too careful. Blue seems to be a great dog and personally i wouild have no worries around him, probably because he has a good home. but other people--
@millapeed1 I agree but also, do not take this the wrong way but if the dog attcked there are warning soigns and it should have been corrected before it happened....but sometime you have to know what to look for. Pit bull where actually not bred to fight...they where bred for bullbaiting and then forced to fight. Human aggression was bred out of the pit bull since the other handler had to handle the other dog so basically a fighting dog would have been safer, But dog fighting is just wrong.
@millapeed1 I have a rescued game-bred female, I rescued her, even if they have been fought usually they are good with animals. mine is. she'd happy to be in a good house now. they are the best dogs, as you already probably know. :)
i dont mean to affend but you now that pitbulls are a mix of many different dog breeds right? thats why they are classified as most vilent, becouse of all the other dogs that are mixxed in there!

Thank you for making this video. I have a blue nose pitbull. I've had him since he was a month old. He is going to turn 4yrs in Dec. And he is the most loyal and sweet dog. He has Never bitten or attacked anyone. I never let anyone bring another pitbull into my house with the intention of fighting my dog.That just upsets me that people think they are for fighting.
This is a wonderful dog..I have a female Pitbull and I was scared at first to get her because I have always heard stories of the breed until I watched Dog Whisperer and after I got Lucy, I dont want any other breed. The story of him saving your sons life is amazing..I have bit by other dogs even poodles. So it depends on the owners.
@jcedozer Not all pit bulls are shaped the same; they can weigh from 25 pounds on up and be a pure bred pit bull. Some are more squat and look more muscle bound and others are more leggy - long and tall. There's at least three bully breeds accepted - The STPB, ASTPB and the APBT. This pit bull looks like a pit bull to me.

when ur son plays tug with the dog, always make sure your son ends up with the toy last and puts it away. This will let the dog know that he is playing with your son's toy, instead of titus thinking ur son is playing with his toy.
When in was a kid I was attacked by a pit bull I hold nothing against the pitbull I have met lots of other pit bulls who are the most caring lovable dogs you'll ever meet pit bulls just have a bad rep

My neighbor's APBT does those "nips" too , to me. He's very loving with my 4 year old, and my German Shepherd (who has been known to attack pits before) - LOVES my neighbors aPBT. I adore my neighbors dog! Your Titus is beautiful and such a good dog! Thanks for the postings!

I think it hit the pit should not the little who is a bit familiar with dog shows what I mean, he also has a pit for too long a tail, he can have the papers but his mother could not have been covered by the other dogs goes up to 6 days and she can be pregnant in the 6 days of different dogs. its a very big dog and he play bites, but how fine is the line from playing and snapping out? i was just wondering because i saw that in the middle of playing your son started giving the dog commands. I figured you taught your son to do that, this way the dog would respect your son as a leader being that he followed the commands. I'm planning on getting a pitbull or a staffordshire terrier, but i have my young cuzzins over every other weekend.
@Thatssonessiesshow Titus had no pain, his where done with a laser....cost a lot more but worth it. His where done for search and rescue so he could hear better pitches.
i have a question. is it realyl necessary to clip their ears? like idk whats the point of putting them through pain, is it to make them look better or something, and some people also clip their tails .. idk but i find it cruel :S

@04vennum The actually were not clipped...they were done with a lazer. Cost a lot more but it has hardly any pain (not enough to make him even flinch), no scaring, no stiches, better healing.

@tarantulaguy1976 no way ! .. i dont think this breed is mean ... im just trying to seek some advfice from you aboput the breed and rep as a first time dog owner. ie how to deal with neighbors vice versa.. im sure theres alkot of haters out there that are psycho i havent owned a dog before. & i think the PB is the ideal dog for me. titus is a very gudlooking dog.& need somone who has a PB.to help me.i need official info from pit bull owners what works with Pits in training session most.
@TheRey4you i want to let you know, pit bulls are high energy dogs, being terriers, so they need a lot of mental and physical stimulation. It's always good to read up on the breed, and just remember each dog is an individual and may not conform to breed standards, so be sure the dog is right for you. :)
not name calling, but come on. Titus has been taught bit inhabitation.....he is also a registerted search & rescue dog......mayby you mis read him or something but he has no food territory aggression.
Dog trainer here looking for some good Pit vids for some colleagues. Just wanted to let you know that Titus is a very dominant dog. That's what the mouthing (soft bites) is, and you may want to watch out for future food or territory aggression.
And before you start calling me names, no I'm not saying this because I think pits are aggressive. I'd say the same thing about a golden retriever doing the same thing.
@sbguyaux My brother in law is a proffesinal tariner. Titus is not a dominat dog at all LOL!! He has no food aggression...thge cat scares him away from the food....my son RJ sits with him and eats....mouthing is not a sign of domiance my friend...better go get the book "Dog training 101" or contact my brother in law for some advice on dog language.....

When was the last time YOU got certified as a professional trainer of service/guide AND protection AND police dogs? I've been around a lot of what the people call power breeds in my life like Pits, dobermans, rotties, German Shepards, and my latest is an English Bulldog (not quite the couch potatoes they are made out to be btw). I totally understand why people are trying to put out the word that they are not bad dogs, just bad owners. I loved every single one of the powerful dogs I've been around since I was a little little kid. I think I'll always be inclined towards this group of dog breeds.
I agree totally that this breed is slated by the medi because they way they look ... there are no bad dogs .... just bad owners. The Alpha male of the house is ALWAYS in charge the minute he steps in the door .... I am the alpha female until my hubby comes home then when I tell my Staffie to do something, he looks to my hubby for approval before he does it lol ...... hes not dis-obedient ...he just shows respect for the pack leader.

Human aggression was bred out of the pit bull since the other handler had to handle the other dog so basically a fighting dog would have been safer, But dog fighting is just wrong.

@millapeed1 I have a rescued game-bred female, I rescued her, even if they have been fought usually they are good with animals. mine is. she'd happy to be in a good house now. they are the best dogs, as you already probably know. :)

Thank you for making this video. I have a blue nose pitbull. I've had him since he was a month old. He is going to turn 4yrs in Dec. And he is the most loyal and sweet dog. He has Never bitten or attacked anyone. I never let anyone bring another pitbull into my house with the intention of fighting my dog.That just upsets me that people think they are for fighting.

This is a wonderful dog..I have a female Pitbull and I was scared at first to get her because I have always heard stories of the breed until I watched Dog Whisperer and after I got Lucy, I dont want any other breed. The story of him saving your sons life is amazing..I have bit by other dogs even poodles. So it depends on the owners.

@jcedozer Not all pit bulls are shaped the same; they can weigh from 25 pounds on up and be a pure bred pit bull. Some are more squat and look more muscle bound and others are more leggy - long and tall. There's at least three bully breeds accepted - The STPB, ASTPB and the APBT. This pit bull looks like a pit bull to me.
Great job tarantulaguy! And those are love taps on the dog's fanny, I know that. I know your son's not hitting the dog. It's play to the dog and affectionate :)

when ur son plays tug with the dog, always make sure your son ends up with the toy last and puts it away. This will let the dog know that he is playing with your son's toy, instead of titus thinking ur son is playing with his toy.

My neighbor's APBT does those "nips" too , to me. He's very loving with my 4 year old, and my German Shepherd (who has been known to attack pits before) - LOVES my neighbors aPBT. I adore my neighbors dog! Your Titus is beautiful and such a good dog! Thanks for the postings!

I think it hit the pit should not the little who is a bit familiar with dog shows what I mean, he also has a pit for too long a tail, he can have the papers but his mother could not have been covered by the other dogs goes up to 6 days and she can be pregnant in the 6 days of different dogs. its a very big dog and he play bites, but how fine is the line from playing and snapping out? i was just wondering because i saw that in the middle of playing your son started giving the dog commands. I figured you taught your son to do that, this way the dog would respect your son as a leader being that he followed the commands. I'm planning on getting a pitbull or a staffordshire terrier, but i have my young cuzzins over every other weekend.

@04vennum The actually were not clipped...they were done with a lazer. Cost a lot more but it has hardly any pain (not enough to make him even flinch), no scaring, no stiches, better healing.

@TheRey4you i want to let you know, pit bulls are high energy dogs, being terriers, so they need a lot of mental and physical stimulation. It's always good to read up on the breed, and just remember each dog is an individual and may not conform to breed standards, so be sure the dog is right for you. :)

Dog trainer here looking for some good Pit vids for some colleagues. Just wanted to let you know that Titus is a very dominant dog. That's what the mouthing (soft bites) is, and you may want to watch out for future food or territory aggression.
And before you start calling me names, no I'm not saying this because I think pits are aggressive. I'd say the same thing about a golden retriever doing the same thing.

When was the last time YOU got certified as a professional trainer of service/guide AND protection AND police dogs? I wasn't attacking your pet, and I'm going off of a tiny clip of him playing with your son. But, no, you're making a point here, so anything going against it is saying that Titus is an awful animal.

I've been around a lot of what the people call power breeds in my life like Pits, dobermans, rotties, German Shepards, and my latest is an English Bulldog (not quite the couch potatoes they are made out to be btw). I totally understand why people are trying to put out the word that they are not bad dogs, just bad owners. I loved every single one of the powerful dogs I've been around since I was a little little kid. I think I'll always be inclined towards this group of dog breeds.

I agree totally that this breed is slated by the medi because they way they look ... there are no bad dogs .... just bad owners. The Alpha male of the house is ALWAYS in charge the minute he steps in the door .... I am the alpha female until my hubby comes home then when I tell my Staffie to do something, he looks to my hubby for approval before he does it lol ...... hes not dis-obedient ...he just shows respect for the pack leader.
