wow this is great, i was just sparring my friend today and i was thinking about what to do about the other hand when i first build the bridge, when i thought about the concepts i came up with this and this video reinforces my speculations, thank you
excellent drill sifu jin. i remember when my sifu first introduced this move to me and it was around that time i really understood how dangerous this art can be. very vicious depending on the person executing the particular move in your demonstration but i have found this to be true in all of wing chun. i think footwork/stance should never be overlooked though and would like to see you show this more. gracefully bow -thanks for the great videos
Awesome as always! I have created a wooden man as well. After a few years I finalyl changed the arm angles to be better because it was affecting my habits. I just uploaded a video of recent practice can I just post video response?
@MiniMikeFTW You cannot blame the whole lineage. It's allways your instructor and you, that make your training effective. I was practicing wt in germany at Sifu Jimmy Jemirifu, also a former Leung Ting/Kernspecht student and we were practicing the very same drill, as you see in the video. the only small difference was, that we were pulling by shifting.
And i sure can tell, that what i've learned worked, because it saved my life literally
Hey great video, its great how you comment on posture and stance throughout exercises. The core is so important. Im sure you've been asked many times but could you tell me where you actually teach/train? Im strongly considering going to uni in the US and would be great to meet.
Keep up the great videos, these techniques really help me in Muay Thai
Hey Jin, not to stir up 'politics' and stuff but do you know anything about grandmaster Leung Ting's branch of 'wing tsun' theres a lot of controversy going on about it but his branch is the only one available to me in my area. Does it even matter?
@MrTofutommy Leung Ting is commercial only, not very effective WC, he lies, hes nots an actual private student of Ip Man like he says, he learned from his uncle Leung Sheung, who was Ip Man's first student. But, he doesnt lie as much as William Cheung, his stuff is NOT WC, dont believe ANYTHING he says, you can watch his vids and easily see that his stuff is fake. I suggest you just join a boxing gym or something and hit the bag instead of learning something that isnt very effective
i thought the lead hand was Man sau?

i really like this. By using his power u can take him off balance with so many ways or even pull him slightly so a elbow or whatever land on him.

Nice drill !!
I suppose you could extend it further by compressing into & attacking the centre of the person pulling/sheathing? They do this in tai chi push hands.
