  • Perfetto!!!!!

  • LISTEN to SIEPI, PETERS, VALLETTI, THEBOM. Quite a difference

  • Dowwnload the audio from this clip at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • A sad day for us Australians for we have lost a great ambassador. May the memories of your great performances live long on our heart. RIP Dame Joan.

  • @steinwaygrande1 Not just Australia but the World.

    We will all miss her.

  • @JasonDavis1969 Yes indeed for she made friends where ever she went

  • I just love this. This and the Lucia sextet are my favourites, and in both cases, Pavarotti and Sutherland are just phenomenal. This is such a full on sing for the tenor, and many make a real hash of it.

  • pavarotti's breath support is unbelievable...

  • thank you Patrick for this wonderful share

  • We'll never again hear this quartet as exquisitely performed as it is in this recording.

Just doesn't get better than this. A flawless performance by some of the greatest singers, ever. Every voice, and the blend, perfect.

There are some people, some talents (in a multitude of forms) who simply should NEVER DIE, or even get old!

I can listen to this every day and it'd never fail to give me goosebumps and a tingle in the scalp that feels like it'll fly right off my head. Every single time.

  • absolutely, I feel the same.

  • Amazing! Pav is great!

  • Absolutely! But [forgive me] it's not a Db, it's just a C# ;-)

  • Just?

  • Db and C# are the same note

  • Of course they are the same note. I was attempting a little joke. That's why I put the "wink" emoticon ;-) at the end of the post.

  • lol people have no sense of humor

  • yes... on the piano that's true... but not for the voice and other instruments

  • @mll20829 In fact for a singer there's a difference wether it's D flat or C sharp.

  • @mll20829 they are enharmonic equivalents, however there are slight differences between the two notes depending on the context of key. A C# in the key of D major is slightly sharper than a Db in the key of of Ab major. People with absolute perfect pitch can tell the difference. Pianos have tempered intonation which is why C# and Db sound the same on them.

  • @patrick96321

    Hahaha!^^

  • The interpolated high Db is dazzling as always, and now the music seems incomplete, to me anyway, without it.
