I really enjoy your sound, love the kit and cymbals...however you really do need to loosen up a bit. It seems that is why you fall out of tempo. My favorite excersises involve jamming to AC/DC songs and seeing how well I can manipulate the feel, style and rhythm. Listen to Stewart Copeland from The Police, that guy knows feel.

I've SEEN it.  If they are open, you couldn't get a piece of paper between them. We could argue this all day, but we won't get anywhere. The open high hats just make it sound somewhat jumbled. Post up a vid with them closed and let the viewers vote on which one sounds right.
