  • definitely a chain pickerel. a nice one. you almost had him !!!!!

  • HEY PEOPLE!, does anyone know whats the best chain pickerel lure? ANYONE REPLY!

  • @trouttracker13 a top water frog or a weedless red devil

  • thanks ill try the red devil and hope for the best lol

  • @trouttracker13 : Anything that resembles a perch. Try a rapala shad rap model in perch design...its like candy to them

  • @trouttracker13 My grandfather caught thousands of them on Red Devil spoons. Generally they hit the same lures that Bass hit... Spoons, senkos, spinners are what I use... many surface lures work well to. They like the same kinds of cover that bass do too, but they're not as shy about shallow or fast moving water. I think it comes down to population too. In the river I fish they outnumber bass 10 to 1, so I catch them all the time. In the deeper, slower creeks I catch mostly bass.

  • @10072018 ok thanks

  • @trouttracker13 i like to use gary yamamoto senkos. use the 5" black ones and they slam em.

  • nice pike

  • the good thing is that baby let himself off the hook and nodody got bit.

  • u ripped that fishes head of with that hook set lol

  • damn, nasty hook set man. good fish

  • i hate catching pickeral, i dont even attempt to get the hook out i just cut the line.

  • I go fishing in Maine and I always go for trout bass or pickerel. So one day I cought 12 22inchers it was awesome we kept 4 and released the rest

  • got a pond behind are house all thats in there all of them avg bout a foot and half biggest one i ever cought was just under maby 2 1/2 feet they fight good to that makes it fun

  • I have lost a lot of little frogs to the chain pickerel's teeth, even sliced up a finger on their teeth a few times. All worth it for the fun and excitement.

I really like using a red 5" senko for pickerel. Well almost anything with red it just seems to make them go crazy. Great fun

That hat cam is a pretty cool tool as well.

  • are people half retarded saying pickerel are walleye, at least google it, stupidity is just not acceptable when all you have to do is open another tab and google it!

  • I would be most happy to catch that fish. 2 quick fillet cuts and 2 y bone v cuts& you have 4 boneless fillets of some fine white firm good tasting fish for the pan..

  • Nice Fish! I love catching pike and pickeral.!

  • Don't see the need for bait casting tackle when using senkos. Just my opinion.

  • Biggest pickeral I ever saw caught was a 9 1/2 lb. 27 1/2" inch. Caught in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts by my dad using live shiner & float. Huge fish in that lake.

  • i have caught pickerel on chicken liver and hotdog chunks once. they will eat anything.

  • Went to Northfarms today...damn...that place is TOUGH to fish....so much SLOP still around..did see a few kayakers...only weedless and top water...forget cranks forget rattletraps...

  • nice fish and nice hit!

  • Pickeral are part of the esox family, so are pike. Please educate yourself before commenting

  • Man I'm shaking my head and laughing at how stupid you people sound trynna name the fish. It's either a pike or a chain pickerel. Pickerels are NOT Walleyes in any way...they're just called Pickerels from Canadian terms but they are in no way related to the Pike family. Need proof? Go search Pickerel on Google and you tell me those pics and info shows a WALLEYE! Feel dumb now eh?

  • Respond to this video... that sir, is not a pickerel.... it was a small muskie or pike .....so new

  • awesome video i subbed

  • man...walleye and pickerel are the same fish.....perch and pickerel are in the same family. Pike has no relation what so ever!

  • @jon12021 exactly atleast someone gets it

  • @jon12021 pickerel are NOT related to walleye dude, not even close pickerel are in the SAME family as pike, wish people would do some research before claiming to have a clue

  • Nice chain pickeral there, kinda looks like agrass pickeral as well

  • it is a pike and its a small pike at that. pickerel is the proper name for a walleye but many people call a pickerel a pike in the usa for some odd reason.

  • Man i gotta know what frog your using 5*

  • It is 1000% a chain pickeral, not a pike. Walleye are not Pickeral nor Pike. Walleye are actually more closely related to Perch than Pickeral or Pike. Nonetheless, the fish caught in this video is a Chain Pickeral.

  • @skibum5722 Where I come from Pickerel is just another name for a walleye,I meant no offense by the comment.

  • @skibum5722 lol sweet dude, if i was fishing for those i think i would think it was a baby northern pike or musky when it was in the water, i cant really tell the difference between em, besides a slight dotted difference on the side.

  • @ChrisH11515 no im with you a pickerel and walleye are the same thing. pickerel is the propper name and the people posting this video are not fisherman because they think this tiny 2 lbs pike is big.

  • @ChrisH11515 A pickerel is way differnt than a walleye!

  • walleye and pickerel are not even closely related. Walleye are members of the perch family, while chain pickerel and their larger cousins the northern pike are both members of the pike family....

  • @ChrisH11515 yea man where am from we call that a pike.

  • lately all i've been catching oscar in a hole where i used to catch 5lb+ bass all day long.. i must of threw about 40oscars on land already :l (you can say thats inhumane bu i'd rather them die then all the bass die :l)

  • pickerel on baits like that is very common for me

  • nice fish man. don't use your good frogs on those picks though, definitely use something like a paddle tail worm and rip it across the top. I've lost hollow body frogs and plastic frogs alike to a feisty pickerel.

  • hell yea thats awesome! love all ur guys vids, I'm getting me one of those freakin hat cams!

  • super sharp teeth those pickerals always get off

  • Go away pickeral, NO ONE LIKES YOU!!!!!

  • top water is where its at,make them hit, whether they want to or not.We hit pickeral here in s.fla when the flats dry out ,good fish.

  • They keep falling off because your hook is to small lol

  • i havnt caught anyfish this year other than bluegill crappie and rock bass its terible this year

  • looks like a pike, is it part of the pike family?

  • Yeah they are part of the pike family.

  • wanna see a truely GIANT chain pickerel????? Go to Scranton Lake in SCranton PA...... I am POSITIVE there is a WORLD record in this lake.... why??? NO FISHING ALLOWED!!!! huge schools of shad or herring..... and I have caught MANY picks that topped 5 pounds!!!! WARNING: a trespassing fine here will cost you 500 bucks

  • where is this and wat is the lake/pond called?

  • It's a local pond in Wallingford, CT.

  • It's a pickeral.

  • i thought is was a pike too, until i took a closer look it is a pickerel, it is an average one though but good fishany way. i was wondering any tips to fishing those frogs i have one but never caught any thing on it, thanks

  • thats a pike dumass

  • it's a chain pickeral. There's no pike in this pond.

  • Where do you fish, normally?
