@gennkill Hi, to become an actor you don't have to be able to sing, but it's huge plus if you can. If you want to get as much work as possible i would strongly recommend you to start taking singing lessons. Not just so you can sing when directors might suddenly tell you to, it's very usefull for your voice in generel as an actor, especially on stage.

Good information. My granddaughter Hannah has been on stage in the Boston area since she was 4 years old. She has attended acting conferences and everyone is impressed. I was trying to be an actor for a few years. Took classes, did some roles in some independant films. But after a while I just quit. Realized that this isn't what I wanted.
I couldn't be myself. It is a business of who you know, and you have to change yourself to make people like you.
Anyways I quit it and I'm now taking pre med. Best decision I ever made. My friend thinks it was a horrible decision though. "Not everyone can be a model, so why quit if you are one of the ones that can?"

You need to have some acting experience to get an agent, usually. and acting classes are always very helpful, try to expand yourself to onstage or on-camera acting lessons. when i was little i did acting camps in the summer
hello, we are movie makers and we are looking for ideas from youtube so we can start making films so send in your ideas. our youtube channel has all the details you will need. if we like it we will put it on.
well, ideally you would get an agent and what not but you have to be careful with some people cuz they'll try to scam you and tell you that you have to pay them first. with a real agent, they try to get you into auditions and acting "jobs" and they don't get paid unless you get paid. so that's a good incentive for them :) you might want to build up a bit of a resume and/or an acting reel. visit a nearby college and stop by their advanced filming class. let them know you want to act.
i'm sure they'll be able to use you, or at least you'll get to meet some people that are interested in the same stuff. make sure your parents help you out with all this stuff. at your age it's good to keep them involved.

ok, how can you deal with being versatile, what you like most, louis? i'm a talent, i had been on local tv, even, made a commercial(cell phone). its very different the "scouting" in the states, from Puerto Rico. you can be talent in any agency, and they call for some casting you can audition.
You always have to keep yourself busy either working to pay for acting lessons or learning acting techniques, some people dont want to ecome a major star, and at first you wont just soar to to fame, only a few rare ones get that luck, like the guy from slumdog millionaire.
If you cant afford to get into an acting school i suggest getting some part time jobs, save up your cash and try and get into a school. Or you could apply to be an extra, you might even get paid a bit of cash as an extra and you can also gain experience from watching other actors. One thing i already know is that you have to be confident, you have to be self reliant, directors want someone who can hold ther own without any help, u gotta be a work a holic and very pushy to make it in acting

Getting into acting roles just isn't the same, I've been on a run searching for an agent for years.
I've already gained my perks, but no use if not 'tested'. I first took drama classes since I was 12, now I'm 20.

im 12 years old and, ive been in 2 shows/ school plays and in both of them (the both in the same school) ive been the lead actor, my first was in year three and then last year, but im hopping when im 18 or something ill be able to act in something like skins or shameless, my favorite show is skins i maybe a bit young, but i love it. I'd like to act now but ive never been to schools or anything. Any Tips?!?! I love acting, its my dream (not like my mates)

I live in Norway, i'm 14 years old and my dream is to be on broadway.
if i want to like, first be in an off-broadway show, will my chances increase if I have been to a school or something? And if I have never been discovered, will my chances of bein' on BROADWAY decrease? My plan is to get some off broadway roles, get discovered, get an agent, resume headshot blabla, and become a leading man on a new showstopping musical on broadway!

I guess you could consider my videos on here STUDENT films... but they're not for school... I will be doing local plays and later on move to California once I'm out of college. If I can't be an actor... no biggie I've got the education for an architect or engineer.=]

ok, how can you deal with being versatile, what you like most, louis? i'm a talent, i had been on local tv, even, made a commercial(cell phone). its very different the "scouting" in the states, from Puerto Rico. you can be talent in any agency, and they call for some casting you can audition.

You always have to keep yourself busy either working to pay for acting lessons or learning acting techniques, some people dont want to ecome a major star, and at first you wont just soar to to fame, only a few rare ones get that luck, like the guy from slumdog millionaire.

If you cant afford to get into an acting school i suggest getting some part time jobs, save up your cash and try and get into a school. Or you could apply to be an extra, you might even get paid a bit of cash as an extra and you can also gain experience from watching other actors. One thing i already know is that you have to be confident, you have to be self reliant, directors want someone who can hold ther own without any help, u gotta be a work a holic and very pushy to make it in acting

Search on the internet for a performing arts school in you're area, you dont have to go to collage. This can be after school or on the weekend.
