I was at a NAMM show about 15 years ago and they held a bass feature night after the convention. All the top bass players were there but the only one I really remember was Victor. Man when he came out doing his groove it blew all the others away. Vic just has the most amazing in the pocket feel to his playing. Yeah there are timess for solo's like this and time to lay it back and groove. Vic does them both with excellence.

You can't judge his reputation based on this; he was having fun and the audience appreciated it. His body of work speaks for itself; he has won many awards and is loved by many fans. I have met him and he is very genuine and very zen.
There is a reason he is well respected as a virtuoso bass player. Check out his other works and hopefully, you will see why.
