  • this is the rock n roll version of something that was once punk

  • Is punk not rock?

  • Kick out the jams motherfuckers!

  • one of the best live albums ever........

  • BOC....all the way!!!!!

  • At around 0:50 there is a doublebase machinegun for like 3 seconds.

    First time ever?

  • @Augustholmstedt I don't think BOC were the first rockers to do it (actually, I'm almost certain they weren't) but Albert does some similar stuff on their 1975 live album (On Your Feet Or On Your Knees) on their cover of "Born to Be Wild" in some parts.

  • I love, love, love this album. I remember drawing the cover to this when I was a teen in early 80's, I love everything about this!!!!

  • It an MC5 Song,Oyster redid it....

  • this version rocks and The hellacopters is a great band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • PUPPIES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • BUCK DHARMA!

  • At least they got the fucking lyrics right (other than motherfucker) which is more than you can say for half the band that cover this... looking and you rage against the machine.

  • I just love this version, it just drives and Bucks solo is to die for

  • Give Up the Ghost's cover of this song is way better. Check it out.

  • ONLY TWO BANDS COVER KICK OUT THE JAMS WITH ALL THAT MC5 FEELING !!!

THE HELLACOPTERS AND THE LORDS OF ALTAMONT !

  • @THUNDERJENSEN HELLACOPTERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Horrible.....absolutely....horrible. Rollins/Bad Brains own this song.....even more than MC5.

  • @Greendub76 Stay away from Detroit.

  • @kurtizzyflush ~ Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaa......ok cunt muffin. Fucking BOC....what a 'musical abortion' the were. I'll look you up next time I'm there tough guy.

  • @dubgreen76 you seriously need your brain looked at

  • @Bojoe777NaBl - You seriously need your vagina looked at....

  • The MC5 are like damm man, slow down Blue Oyster Cult

this is not how we did the original kick out the jams song :) lol

  • GOD!!!! This was the first BOC album I heard at the age of 10 in 79.....I was hooked...This whole album is on my top 10 list...Great versions of all their hits...

  • UBER ROCK

  • Hell yeahhh mann!!!!!!!!!!!!! so many bands covered this song and almost nobody knows it this day and age, KEEP ON ROCKIN. -peace-

  • this cover is TITS

  • holy FUCKING SHIT

  • Man, you have to check out the original to the right from 1970. The Black and White one. No wonder BOC did this Cover. Those guys ROCKED!

  • @chucksaden it's from 1969;)

  • WOW. This song and a good bong-hit have stuck me to the wall. Someone dial 911.

  • i have this very same poster handed down from my bro`s 1976 ...........

  • @MrBigjohn817 wall size!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song gives me a boner

  • BOC made this cover rock like noone else can!

  • this song has the most fucking awesome covers.

  • MC5's version will always be the best. But this 1s alrite. Blue Oyster Cult are gr8.

  • By far, the greatest cover of this tune. After BOC did this, no one else should have even touched it. Buck's axe work and BOC's energy overall make all other covers sound so lame. Why f with perfection?

  • Slipery digets!!

  • For all you who are complaining about how BOC cencored themselves and why even bother.... I will tell you why even bother... for a 15 y/o kid who played this album for the first time in the 70's and many times after it may have been the first time they ever heard this song... we never had youtube and internet at our fingertips... it was awesome to us and led us to the original. I doubt mc5's guitarist can come close to the solos that Buck lays down in this cut also. Some Enchanted Evening MF!

  • Pearl jam

    Blue oyster cult

    Presidents of the U.S.A.

    Rage against th machine

    Volcano Suns

Any other bands that covered this tune that I should know of?

  • Bad Brains!!!!

  • monster magnet

  • @Laminateddeffect Metal Magnet

  • Jeff Buckley

    Street Sweeper Social Club

  • MC5 are the originators...but BOC certainly respected MC5...by the 1970's the freedom to say Mother Fuckers was gone...

  • Kick out the jams, brothers and sisters? If you're going to start out that way, then why even bother?

  • Presidents of United States did the same shit, it was fuckin stupid

  • I saw the Presidents of The United States at the Masquerade, ATL, and during the encore, the ENTIRE audience got on stage with them. The singer was yelling, SOMEONE TAKE A PICTURE! I don't think anyone every got it captured. But to be there, on stage with them, was a once in a lifetime deal. It was pretty cool, and I'm not really a diehard of them. Now, BOC has woven a Magic Circle through Classic Rock History.

  • this song was recorded in my fucking home town of COLUMBUS,GA muther fuckers!!!!!!

  • kick out the jams mother f er

  • This contains one of Buck's most wicked solos.

  • for the best cover...i'd say this one over any of the ones i've heard so far...

    the self cencership was lame...

but people must realize when a band does a cover, they are doing it in there style of music, so you have to expect it to be different from the original...but if you want it to sound like it...this is the one to listen to...

KICK OUT THE JAMS MOTHER FUCKER!

  • this is a fav.thanks.

  • of all the bands that played this song the blue oyster cult did it the best!

  • brothers and sisters? man he should have just said it, it would have been cooler.

  • yeeeahhhhhh...the self censorship is LAME.

  • Thirded.

  • @Settpistol Because copying someone verbatim and giving an audience exactly what they are used to is original.

  • @Settpistol yeah the self censorship is pretty WEAK SAUCE lol

  • i like the ramblin rose action

  • Great album!

  • I think the vid you're referring to is R U Ready 2 Rock. Another great song, but not a great vid. Also, I don't think it's from the album. Sounds somewhat different in parts.

  • A cover, but one hell of a cover, by one of the great hard rock bands ever. When Buck lets loose after the 2nd "Come on, kick 'em out!" it's goose bump time. It's that sort of virtuosity that's missing from today's so-called "rock".

  • Can't say much more than that brother. There's a poor quality video somewhere on youtube of another song from this concert. Can't remember which one, but my guess there must be an existing video of this ENTIRE 1977/1978 concert. Anyone?
