@say4them yes, Its Van Gough's starry night (at least an adaptation of) in the background as well as the fact that the first building on the left is melded into his painting style as well and can be seen from such paintings as view of the Asylum
This song reminds me of when I was in Paris, and I drank the best coffee in the morning, and read a book in French. Possibly the best feeling in the world. <3
Seoul, Tokyo, New York, and Atlanta. I miss all of them. Never been to Paris just yet, but I'm sure I'm gonna fall in love with it :) Can't wait to visit this year.
Walking the streets of Paris at midnight. Been there; done that; loved it! Everyone should do it at least once. Sorry I missed the rain, but that gives me another reason to return -- in the rainy season.
this movie remebers me when I first saw Manhattan (1979) exactly the same style during the last 30 years...absolutely love how he mix comedy with great writers in the plot...
I saw it tonight and was walking back to the car in the rain and could hear the town bells ringing..it was only 9pm though but not one to ruin the mood......no horse and carriage went by.....alas...loved the movie.
I´m not a big fan of Allen, but he does have a way of showing cities that makes you want to move there.
Same thing happened with Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona, absolutely hated the movie(especially Cruz) but the way photography was stunning. I loved the way he showed Oviedo. The guitar player in the park at night was just breathtaking.
Yo ame este film... me encanto la fotografia los escenarios, absolutamente todo...talves el final me dejo confusa pero las peliculas de Allen son así..que melodia tan preciosa :)
@kaciewong if you can't get it anywhere, you can download an addon for Firefox that allows you to record every sound that your browser/computer is playing.
Sidney Bechet and his clarinet can be found in the centre of all jazz-musicians.
I know only a small amount of clarinet players but Bechet goes many miles in front of any of them. The first LP disk based on the music of Sidney Bechet still is one of the best byings I ever did. Sydney is a gentle and very able musician who knows languages and the result of applaus for all types of music.
Let's hope that honest Sydney Bechet gets a place in the newest books about jazz. He deserves it !
The title of this movie really fools you. You think this is going to be some predictable romantic comedy. Then you see its directed by Woody Allen, and you think; what is going on? You see the movie and is more blown away then when you first saw Annie Hall and Manhattan, but even so the only thing stuck in your head after great characters, plot and mood is the songs used - maybe thats because the director himself is a well accomplished jazz musician.
@xristospm Tu ne sais pas à quel point Paris est une ville magnifique, je dirais même magique, probablement car tu n'y es jamais allé. Va à Paris puis regarde de nouveau ce film, alors tu comprendras à quel point il est magnifique.
People will prolly say I am giving this movie to much credit, but I have seen it 7 times now, 4 times in the cinema and 3 online, and i honestly think that it is one of the 5 greatest movies of all time.
Thanks for this, I saw this movie with my husband, and next day I took my father to the cinema just to have the opportunity to see and "listen" the film again, at the end we just stayed until this song was finished, I find it great!!
This song and this scene in the movie always hit a chord in my heart. I was in Paris last summer. First time i had ever been out of the country and on my own. Funnily enough, they were filming this while i was there.
A good movie but pretty light stuff. A long way from Crimes and Misdemeanors and Hannah & Her Sisters. Woody got too close to the flame and got burned. Now he stays away. Also trying to rebuild his rep as a human being. As he should.
Maybe I didn't LOVED the plot (Though I would love going through the same experience), but I definitively loved paris, the photography, the music and cast, VERY Woody Allen!.
So I was lonely one night and went to see it. I was on a date a week later and went to see it. a few days after that, my cousins came to the city and we went to see it. It's weird, I've never seen a Woody film this many times in the theaters.

My sincere thanks for posting this. I was in the process of preparing artwork for this year's Burning Man event and running out of time and inspiration when I found it. Listening to it inspired me, and now I see that somehow some of the beauty of this song seems to be reflected in the art I was working on. Again, my sincere thanks.

This performance was the only outstanding thing in this otherwise mediocre (or worse) movie. The dialogue consists entirely of the characters whining about something or other, the plot line is telegraphed in the first twenty minutes, and the rest is so predictable you can even guess how the next scene will be blocked out,
Did anyone else google this opening song and immediately synched it on their iPod the following morning on the way to work after watching it?
