Hi - I am very impressed with your videos and was hoping that you could help me to get a copy of the soundtrack. I have been searching everywhere and read from your post that you were given a copy. Is there any way you can help me out or at least point me in the right direction? I too love sound track music, and actually just visited the grave of Ruffian last week at Belmont Park. Please help out a fellow fan?
the greatest female racehorse of the 20th century, in words of Andy Byer, "the fastest horse i have ever seen" and Jess Jackson "the greatest horse of the century"!
I contacted the composer to ask if he knew where to get a copy and it turned out he could send me one. He is a real nice person and a wonderful composer!
So beautiful, good music, but I know what comes next, and I don't know if I want to cry today.
Does it seem like the colts have more press coverage?? I remember the match race. I watched it on t.v. But, even though I was 14,,, it just seems like alot of the general public was not as familiar with her as they were, say, Secretariat, even though she was as great. Did she get the magazine coverages as Sec did???
I was a little girl when this happened. Some of my best childhood memories were when my dad took me to Belmont and Aqueduct to watch the horses race. A few times, he actually took me out of school to go there. Those were the best days. He was a big fan of Ruffian because she was a filly. When this happened, we were all watching it on tv. It was the first time I saw my dad cry. And my uncle Joey cried too. I knew that something very big had just happened.
She did not like to change from off her outside, lead. That puts all the stress on those right side legs. She also threw the right front out a good bit as you can see on a head on camera. No wonder she had a fracture of her right hind leg, it being the first foot on the ground in full stride on a left lead. The front right gave way in her match race. The force of running the way she did, and those elements made for a tragic ending. Wonderful fast filly.

@TheCptnSQUASH I watched a clip that was showing the two coming toward the camera, which showed birds flying in front of her. It appeared she spooked hard.
There was talk that, perhaps, this lead to her injury. Any thoughts???
The benchmark in which other great fillies and mares are measured against. Zenyatta, Rachel Alexandra, whoever. All are measured against the achievements and ability that this dynamic filly possessed.
Beautifully done! With excellent choice of music as well!
(The only suggestion I'd make is to have the text bits up a bit longer - they fade away too quickly for average readers to catch in full, and I had to rewind a couple of times because of this.)
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. It was a labour of love and I enjoyed making this!
And you're right about the text bits, most go by to quickly. I think in the end because I knew them practically by heart I cut down the time they were shown too much ;)

Thanks, good to hear you like it.
About her lengths, all the lengths quoted in this video came from her official race record, so unless they're wrong...
