The fb players and powerlifters don't have bruises after they bench on their chest b/c they are just powering out of the bottom not dropping the whole amount of weight on themselves.

Now before anyone comments I'll admit I can't even do this weight 10 times; probably 4-5 reps on my good days with no spot either.     His first 30 reps were perfect. Not locking out you elbows creates constant pressure on the pecs, there by fatiguing his muscles which is the key to endurance training.

  • This guy is probably 300 pounds, and is a power-lifter, This is easily possible. Proportionally, almost anybody who lifts can bench 60 pounds less than they weigh 37 times.

  • @languageishellagay i dont think he is 300 maybe 280 but 60 out of his BW is not even 1/4 while out of a 180 guy for example its a 1/3 so u cant really compare that way - i guess heavy people have more trouble repping weights close to BW or exact BW than small or average people

  • I was at the University Of Hawaii from 1986 to 1988 and actually had a sociology class with Al Noga, from what I remember clearly is he did 28 x 225 at the combine and had a best one rep max of 425 lbs his senior year, doesn't sound like a lot today but the guy was built to the proverbial hilt and intimdating as anyone I've ever seen in my life, even mike tyson would back away from this guy on the street

  • 1-3 inches off the chest is how you do it,and if you really want to have fun put a pause in there at the bottom of the movement. That will take his 37 and bring it down to about 15-20. He looks to be somewhere up around 300-320lbs he should be able to do a lot more.
