  • I don't like that white gay ..

  • i wish i have a japanese mother~ :))

  • Dashi is soup stock.

In case of this roll egg omelette,

I use commercial granule Dashi usually.

Kombu or bonito or both.Kombu is seaweed.A bonito is a fish.

  • what is dashi?

  • That takes forever, I'll just be practical and stick with scrambled eggs >=]

  • unless you are a vegetarian, SHUT THE FUCK UP. (and I mean a vegetarian that doesn't eat fish since there are so many different breeds of you fukers)

Fact is that fish is DEAD. A chicken with it's head cut off also runs around frantically. There are no pain because the BRAIN is not connected to the NERVES.

If you don't eat raw fish, you are a fag anyways. American sushi is not sushi.

  • @TheOneSpam Actually sushi is not raw fish, that is Sashimi.

From wiki: Sushi is a food of Japanese origin consisting of cooked vinegared rice (shari) combined with other ingredients (neta). Neta and forms of sushi presentation vary, but the ingredient which all sushi have in common is shari. The most common neta is seafood.

Raw meat sliced and served by itself is sashimi.

  • @begothprincess

I know that. That wasn't even my main point. Regardless, I was trying to compare typical Japanese nigirizushi and what many Americans consider sushi (typically some sort of makizushi like California roll or whatever)

It's like you're trying to say that hamburgers are not cows, but rather contain cows. I am not retarded, but that you for pointing out the obvious. Oh and great job quoting a wiki page. That really proved you know what you're talking about.

  • @TheOneSpam geesh I was just trying to be helpful. Give other people an education about sushi that might not have known that. I never said you were retarded thanks for assuming. Also i quoted the wiki so people could get a proper definition of it rather than a mock up job that i could do. I prefer to be accurate and informed. From now on though i guess i will just let people remain dumb. Excuse me for trying to teach something and be nice about it.

  • I thought the title was obama XD

  • 20dislike should go die... xD

  • food fetish much?

  • she sadly tries to speak english

  • This was so interesting to watch! I never seen this before. Everything the Japanese do is a work of art.......this really takes great skill! That is the biggest Egg Roll I have ever seen, LMAO!!

  • i've never seen one before but it looks really good, would you just eat it on its own in strips like it showed at the end?

  • イライラするwww

  • what is the name of the pan you use? i have tried to find one and ave been unable to. teh ones i have found are too shallow. thanks for your help.

  • @duskemaiden Tamagoyaki Pan. There is a subtitle for that when she is first using it.

  • @duskemaiden its a tamagoyaki pan.. it says underneath it...

  • man, you can sleep on it like a pillow. LoL.

  • this feels like porno.... especially when the camera man spoke XD

  • that was soooooooooo Biiiiiiiiiig roll, but looks like fun to make it... >_<

  • thats a real eggroll

  • @666DerekisBack666 If you like japanese food at least have the respect not to call them japs.

  • lol the guy on the cam freaking out over the oil

  • my ex gf giggled and told me the same thing, *it's too big*

On the serious note, that thing looks amazing

  • Comment removed

  • wow! japanese way is really "slowly but surely" :-)

  • That looks amazing XD

  • I'm hungry now. Lol!

  • Hey Japanese food fans, I have bento lunch boxes on my page, so check it out!!

  • Watching her make this is oddly calming to me.

  • What can I use, instead of Dashi?

  • r u going to get high cholesterol after eating that large piece of egg?!?? =S no offense...

  • @vietnamkho do realize that there are only 4 eggs and you aren´t supposed to eat all of them on your own, so even if you eat a whole half of it, it´s still 2 eggs, perfectly fine for a lunch four times a week. It´s the same as an omelette so where is the problem?

  • umm my i ask you how many layer are they in your dashi maki?

  • 最後に日本語が混じってる(笑

  • thanks, great idea,

  • what is the name of the pan used? I would like to make this some day ^_^

  • Tamago frying pans,,,,,,,,,,,:)

  • これおいしそう! I love japanese food :3 But is there a way to make this without the special pan?

  • You can do this with any type of you want, just as long as you can flip it over in that manner.

  • ちょっと この人料理下手だよ!

    俺にやらせてくれ!

  • There are regional differences in this sort of omelet. Most US sushi places uses the Tokyo style which is very sweet. This looks more like Kansai style (Kyoto etc), which emphasizes the taste of dashi, or freshly made soup stock (the same stock used for miso soup and the basis of most Japanese cooking). My husband (and toddler son) always hated the US sushi restaurant stuff but loved the Kyoto one that has little or no sugar like this.

  • Amazing!

  • wat is dashi???

  • @kiki909 I'd love to post the link, but youtube wun let me, just use google:)

  • I love watching this video, she's so skilled with the eggs; everytime I make this I keep stabbing the eggs and the roll isnt so tight, its bigger (but I'm sure if I keep trying over and over again I'll get it right lol) : )

  • My Omelette taste salty instead of sweet -.- Weird .

  • @ljjclara did you mixed up your salt and sugar? ^_^

  • @ljjclara

Did you use her ingredient list?

She didn't put anything that would make her omelet taste sweet.

  • I did it ! XDDD Thank you so much ! ((:

  • whose voice is that - so hot and sexy voice - PLEASE CAN I MARRY YOU ..... i want to make you my BELOVED HUSBAND !

  • Who evers voice that is..

He must be really cute :))

    I love your voicee :D!

Oh and nice tamagoyaki o; it's gargantuous.

  • yummy I want one :D

  • She done it perfectly as not burn at all!

  • I feel like being fooled for watching the repeating process.....but it`s a good one!!!

  • OHHH!!!! I WANT IT

  • This is my favorite food. My grandmother is Japanese and she makes this for us whenever we go to her house! ^_^ I call it typewriter eggs, because of how you constantly are rolling it to one side and then sliding it back to the other to start all over again!.

  • oh my God tat is the biggest tamogayaki i've ever seen

  • i'll finish the cooking with only 1-2 flips for an egg....

but this really looks nice...i'm humgry now ^^

  • That's one big egg roll O_O.

  • oh yes. Looking at the sweat on her neck keeps me hungry :3

  • wow she's so careful. I'd have a bunch of mistakes even on my 30th try

  • I know, but she called it that in the description, but I'm simply using it just for comical purposes.

  • Wow..so artsy=)) awesome!

  • so its literally an egg roll... lol

  • so many layers =O

i should goto a store and buy myself one of those pans =D

  • gotta love the japanese

  • Did you put oil in the pan? Yeah no shit Copernicus...

  • lozl that comment made me laugh lolz..!!!!

  • That is AWESOME!

What exactly is dashi? Is it Benito flakes with boiling water or can you make it with something else, ^^; what is it made of??

  • Yeah, dashi is pretty much stock made from bonito. You can buy it powdered, though, you don't have to make it from scratch. A lot of groceries carry it now in their international section.

  • Im gonna attempt to do this in my big square pancake pan, make a huge one and freak out my co workers

  • What kind of dashi is that?

    Kombu Kelp? Benito?

  • I do this w/a regular 10 inch non stick frying pan. The sides aren't very pretty, but it'll do in a pinch. :)

  • oh mama !

  • O.O

    very good

  • That looks so tasty, and she makes it looks so easy to make. - 3-

  • Those are pretty big, I wonder where to get dashi broth, and i want to use proper Katakuriko but Where do you find some on the western world...

  • Stater Brothers in the dried goods isle.

  • is easy to make it =p and is good too XD. and u can put food on it and roll it up. she egg to make it

I want to learn Japanese so Bad

  • Such skill!

  • this made me so hungry xD

excellent directions and props to the chef =)

  • you make it look so easy id totally screw that up!

  • This would take such a long time, why not just fry an egg?

  • Because the taste is different...?

  • the taste is totally different, tamagoyaki is slightly sweet, much more moist, and has more texture than a regular fried egg.

  • Suggoi O_o.

    Very interesting.

  • lol i like how you roll them with chopsticks. if i had to roll them with chopsticks, it will take me the whole day =P

  • Amazing, what an art of cooking, talk about dexterity to roll the egg.

heck this 1 blasted me away when i thought i'm quite good cooking my own omelet in the morning T_T.

  • mmmm, i want some! :-p great vids!

    see [watch?v=YLrZZ04KObA]

  • omg i thot that rolling would never end!

  • Definitely not for newbees. So many ways it would go down the bin.

  • OMG it looks so good

  • what is dashi?

  • It's a soup/cooking stock

  • Thank you so much for this video!

  • NICE SKILLZ! first i thought that the egg rool thing was gona fal! but i guess not! AWESOME JOB!

  • 片栗粉!???

  • I think for the people who don't know how to use chopsticks for cooking should use 2 of those scoopy things lol (I don't know what it's called) because it will be hard with only 1 of those scoopy things... as the egg will keep sliding on top of the unfolded egg...

  • I have often wondered how this was made and could never figure it out, but now I know! Domo arigato!! Wonderful video!!

  • Excellent video and instructions! I tried making tamagoyaki (dashimaki) in the past without success. Since I've seen this video, I've made perfect tamagoyaki everyday! ;) Domo Arigato!

  • videos like these makes me hungry!!! 5 stars for my personal approval!

  • Arigato for sharing! I have started my Japanese diet, and I needed this info. Great for breakfast, zushi, or dinner. She looked like she was having a lot of fun doing it, too! Nice! What's the difference between a klutz and an expert? Practice.

  • I have always wanted to be able to do this but im too clumsy...i always get too frustrated and end up making scrambled eggs instead! haha. But you make it look so easy! well done!

  • Uwah, you make it look easy. And delicious.[: Yummy. I want some right now. Hee. :]

  • that is freaking huge!

  • This is such a great set of videos. Where I live in Europe it is almost impossible to find Japanese foods easily, and the very few Japanese restaurants we have here are so incredibly expensive, a dinner for two is about 1/4 of a month's rent...in EUROS! So I really look forward to teaching myself to do some of these dishes (which I know and love). Everything you're doing looks wonderful, and you've just gained a very happy subscriber. Arigatou!

  • I love all the video's. Everything looks so good. I'm now a subscriber. :)

  • Amazing!

  • I wonder is it the same as tamago?

  • Tamago simply means egg... but if you are referring to Tamago Sushi, then yes, this is basically the same as the Tamago in the sushi, except a small amount of sugar is added to make the egg sweet ^__^

  • Too bad these are in English.

  • WOW, thank you very much! She looks to be really a good cook! Say Thank to your wife from a Quebec girl who is very happy of her patience and help!
