start of a horror movie? a space station crew has an experimental robot sent up. Things go wrong and the hero of the story (cady coleman, the last person alive) has to dramatically blow the robot out of the airlock which, for some reason looks no different to the emergency escape on an airliner.

@purplemunshkin They have a "task board" with switches and straps and handrails and dials and other typical space station hardware interfaces on it that they will use to train Robonaut to handle and manipulate. After they build up a "repetoire" of behaviors and actions in Robonaut they will start to apply those behaviors to actual tasks on the station, like cleaning surfaces and air filters and other "boring busywork" and let the human astronauts focus on space station science.

Space walks (going outside the station) are expensive and they take a long time to plan. With Robonaut 2, or future versions of a similar robot, NASA could place "hands", that use normal human tools, outside of the station within minutes/hours of a malfunction rather than the days/weeks it would take to prep a human space walk.
