  • You are soo right....This is the Enterprise! NCC 1701 (and no bloody A, B, C or D) ...or that abdomination in the most recent film

  • This is the Enterprise I would have had in the most recent movie! I would not have changed a thing! it would have been completely true to the original design both inside and out! I would have also set it in the original continuity, I wanted a good clean origin story that showed the genesis of the great ships journey exploring space!

  • Where did you gets this and how much did it cost you, i wanna pick this up for my self.

  • @FNTrueWrestling

Master Replicas is out of business, so I recommend watching Ebay over time and wait for a deal.

A model kit from another company in this same scale is coming next year from a company called Polar Lights, if you want to build your own.

  • hopefully the music dosen't play the whole time its on

  • So...how much was it? Great video, the soundtrack made it epic!

  • Great video brother. Such a beautiful representation of a classic vessel. That show & ship got me through some tough times as a 6 year old. Thanks for posting.

  • it hard to belive they our working fast then light rocket system now at nasa

  • youtube.com/watch?v=xYpvO-7ky58

Heres a link to my 11 foot enterprise that i built just to see how big it acually was.

  • Ok, call me crazy but i could take this thing to bed and have sex with it. Its a thing of beauty!

  • Still without a doubt the most beautiful example of the Enterprise. It's lines are perfect. All the other Enterprises, especially the Next Generation one are lame.

  • @49bobbyk - I agree with you except for Enterprise-E. She's a beauty but still not as elegant as this lady (or Enterprise-A).

  • very nice

  • Amen to your comments to Abrams, Should have left her well enough alone...

  • Did they solve the problem with light bleed through where the bridge meets the saucer?

  • OMG I WANT THIS :D

  • That is sooooooooo awesome!

  • when Humanity comes to build intergalactic ships in the next few thousand years, the first ship for exploration should be the Enterprise (original)

  • wow that is one pretty enterprise ...nothing like what i had when i was a kid

  • Happy for you to have one Though. Enjoy it. Keep its 5Year Mission Going. =)

  • @thecopykidofthestarz

    Well,

It is a high end collectible and no longer in production. No way around those

    prices really. Maybe $800.00.

Were you to commission a custom build from a master model builder in that scale and that kind of lighting you would easily pay more.

There is hope that Polar Lights model company will release a kit in this same scale in the future, but they have not committed yet.

The lighting circuitry would be required still of course, the warp effect is complex.

  • @CessnaDriver2 t Polar Lights have hinted that they will release a 1:350 TOS Enterprise later 2011/early 2012. Preliminarily work has apparently started. Will be a fine compliment to their 3:50 Enterprise A (had mine for nearly two years and still haven't started it; the sheer size of it intimidates me, lol!)

  • @CessnaDriver2 Polar Lights suggest a 1:350 TOS Enterprise will be released late 2011/ early 2012. Preliminary work has apparently started. Can't wait for it to be released to compliment my 1:350 Enterprise-A!

  • I want one. OH ITS A BEAUTY! MY Father when he was young used to run inside to see her on tv when he was a boy. I watch it on the Computer.

  • How come your master replicas enterprise doesn't have the annoyingly added extra lines underneath the saucer section? I've noticed that some or most of the master replicas have them... even though the original studio shooting model did not. I think they might have decided to give the ship more detail after looking at what the guys did to the original 11 foot shooting model for the last Smithsonian refurbishing. They don't look very flattering to me. It makes the underside of the saucer cluttered

  • @WickIDwarrior

I have grid lines on the bottom saucer of mine as well. They are somewhat faint though. Not drawn heavy handed like others are. Mine is also an "artists proof". Which may mean something or not. They gridlines did exist on the bottom of the studio model during shooting of the series. There are some studio black and white photos they show them very faint on the bottom compared to the top. And of course even the ones on top were pretty much invisable on TV.

  • @WickIDwarrior I wonder why so many parts of the beutiful TOS enterprise reminds me of a 57 chevy... (my favorite car by the way) I hope that in the fututre we get more star trek with beutifull ships like the original enetrprise i like most enterprise ships but the new ships could just look better

  • nice man good job

  • cool

  • ESA NAVE DE JUGUETE ES GENIAL

  • I wish I could have afforded one of those beauties!!!!!

  • nise

  • I hope the ghost of Matt Jefferies is haunting Ryan Church's house

  • to be honest this studio model looks pretty mint condition n nicely well preserved ^_^ n i love the flasshing n rotating buzzard lights ^_^ heheh well done ;)

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Have you had any problems with the fans slowing down or being noisy, I heard that a few had these problems?

    Cheers.

  • Fans runs fine so far.

However there was some kind of oil like substance that leaked on the inside of one dome. When the lights are on it cannot be seen though. But dissappointing. It' seems to be a common problem.

  • @CessnaDriver2 Probably just some sort of mechanical lubricant used to keep the fans running smoothly

  • OK people. Need some help. i need an enteprise D. i'll pay a few thousand dollars for it. but i want it to be immaculate. the one above looks (no offence), good but not enough. who should i talk to? i think im gonna have to get someone to custom build it. wat do u think of "Custom Replicas"? is there anyone better? thanks....

  • no offense to the long time trekkies but this sip looks to be honest , old and by todays standards rather outdated. Im a long trekkie and to me the new enterprise woprks just fine and guess what it's brought in heaps of new trekkies.

  • They could have made improvements on the original design aesthetics and still keep with canon. Abrams was too busy trying to inflate this story with his own view, with no fidelity to what the show was about. The mistake that JJ Abrams made was, well, trying to make Star Trek into Star Wars. Cannot be done.

  • It always seems like when ever they remake a movie they screw it up.... The day the Earth stood still, War of the Worlds, Star Trek...... and so on..They need to give their new movies a new name,,, errrr....!!! Leave the classic material alone....... it can never be matched or beaten. Awesome model. Long live TOS! Jeff

  • star trek needs another leap into the future. new techs, new alliances, new problems...

  • beautifull still.

i dont see how people can compare this to the 1701 design of jj abrams and crew..

i dont compare those...best thing to do

  • There are certen mathmatics that all good asthetic design follows, such as the golden ratio of 1:1.61803399. The Original, the refit and E all follow these "rules", thats why they look so good on screen. Unfortunatly Ryan Church aparantly does not know about these things and thats why the "new" Enterprise looks so blody awfull, its all out of proportion. If I was Abrams I would have kept the clasic lines and just added details that was just not possable in the 60's.

  • @spacemonkeyjim

There is an elegance in the functional sometimes. Especially in aircraft, I think it was Kelly Johnson that said airplanes fly like they look. We have no idea what a starship, if they can exist, would look like. But Jeffries when he designed her, understood elegance that is certain.

  • Yes! Also, look at his Lief Ericsson Galactic Cruiser and the Klingon D-7. All representations of elegance. And for that time, REVOLUTIONARY! Trying to inject Star Wars qualities into this show is like trying to mate a human with a chimpanzee. The outcome is, well horrendous and widely unacceptable.

  • I agree. The movie ship lacks any semblance of elegance.

  • I second that one. Ryan Church horribly plagarised the TMP model, and looks like he designed the engineering section with adult toys. I mean, how many shuttles can you cram inside such a tiny hull??

  • Nice model! The Abrams model was a joke. I wonder why these upstart directors think they can make improvements on a icon like this?

  • Ryan Church's Enterprise was an insulting JOKE compared to this! This IS the original Enterprise!

  • Agreed. The JJ-prise serves as an exaggerated characacture of a classic design, I would also risk saying that the entire film itself also serves similar to the source materials.

  • @Actionguy1 I've worked as a designer in Video games for years and the new Enterprise was a disapointment to me too, It's an aggressive design, by that I mean in an effort to make everything different the designer hasn't thought, " does it look better, Should I change that" It's all a bit forced, A bit like when you see a really uncool mate dressed in cool clothes his Girlfriend got him, it's just wrong.

  • This is my favorite version of the Enterprise. So beautiful!

  • Aye she's a shining star in all four of her original cast forms!

  • If they make an A I will be all over it

  • May I suggest that the one in the first six movies was the best Enterprise of the original series? The one from the TV series looks boring.

  • She's a beautiful woman and we love her.

Elegance and grace. The refit is nice too, but Matt Jeffries created an iconic design that may very well stay recognizable until real starships exist someday.

  • @RedeemingLight I must respectfully disagree. I DO like the re-fit version and the Enterprise-A, but in my opinion, the original will always be the best. Enterprise B? UGLY!

  • fuck me i wish i was born in an era with such things being the norm :-/

  • You and me both.

    Someday, someone will.

  • @WerdnaFaz If you go through life being disappointed at what could have been you'll never find happiness in the present.

  • 9v

    1.7A

  • I lost my power supply.

Could you please tell me the Output volts and amps off the wall wart that come with yours?

    Thanks

  • Has someone an idea how the spinning bussard collectors are build? I am bulding a Enterprise model of my own and I want it to be as acurat as possible. So it would be great if someone has an idea.

  • That is the best replica I've ever seen of the USS Enterprise, Good job!

  • Pure beauty. This will always be THE Enterprise; As Scotty once said, no bloody A, B, C, or D (...or alternate timeline, if I may add...) ...what a wonderful model! Thanks for sharing.

  • Where can I get one !!!

  • do u have $999?

  • This is probably better than the actual model used for the original series!

  • "Weathering", to modelers it is known as the "rust ring". It is present on the actual studio model to this day. Weathering is a popular teqnique to give models a sense of larger scale. So the Enterprise picked up a little character out there on that five year mission. ;)

  • Trekkie pr0n!

  • That's really a great looking model and a great way to present it in your vid. I want the Master Replica Millennium Falcon but I'll never have a spare $2,000 bucks to get one. MR did a great job on the original Enterprise. This makes me want to finish painting my studio scale Viper from the original Battlestar Galactica, 5/5.

  • I want one.

  • I like the look of the NCC-1701-A better, but this is still amazing.

  • where'd you get the model?

  • JJ Abrams STAR TREK is absolutely the REAL DEAL. It's message is simple--go with your gut and your intuition. Think outside the box. And don't let destiny pass you by... "Your father was the captain of a starship for 12 minutes," Pike tells the young, clueless, rudderless Kirk about the man who saved countless lives including his sons. "I dare you to do better." And Kirk does. This film has heart, brains, and the bravado of the original. STAR TREK hasn't been this great in 20 years.

  • @jrice73 I beg to differ. JJ Abrams' Star Trek was the worst possible insult to the franchise and Roddenberry's vision of the future. It was a slip-shod parody. An ill conceived attempt to fix something that was never broken. The film had NONE of the heart, soul, or intelligence that was the orginal Star Trek series. It was a juvenile, dumbed down farce. Abrams is an "adequate" TV producer, but a feature film director he is NOT. Abrams, Kurtzman, and Orci dropped the ball in SO many ways.

  • a beauti :)

  • Stunning model! I hope my PL Refit-Enterpise looks half as good when I finish it.

  • This is the best Enterprise, it looks better for me than the new one!!!!

  • Yes indeed, 100% with you on that one!

  • WONDERFULL PRESENTATION! Congratulations! This is the ORIGINAL ENTERPRISE! "Star Trek XI ' Enterprise is a CRAP"!

  • Agreed. The original design is still perfect. The new movie doesn't even qualify as Trek to me anyways. Won't be seeing it.

  • i saw the movie last night. it was the most fun I've had in a LONG time, and is without question one of the best Trek films ever made.

  • What was the message of the film?

  • Agreed, the movie in my opinion as effects go is amazing but as a "Star Trek" movie is the worst of all 11, it does not have the spirit of Star Trek and resembles more of a Star Wars movie then a Gene Roddenberry vision. Why didn't they continue from Nemesis i can't understand, they could have showed the USS Titan and make a whole new adventure...

  • Agreed!

  • I don't know. What was the message of "trouble with tribbles" or spock's brain"?

  • Three years of episodes they can't all be winners. ;)

But always the mission statement at the beginning of the show was there to remind us.

  • This Enterprise is just a beautiful design, it's one of those shapes that looks right from all angles and shows that simplicity can be brilliant. The new one is uninspired and stupid frankly. This is just a timeless classic.

  • awesome presentation man

  • very nice video,,,,,,,go look at my 100k collection .

go look at my collection here under jsf525 and look at star trek part 1,2, ans 3 of 3.

    enjoy

  • Beautiful Starship. Looking forward to next year when Polar Lights releases a 1/350 scale TOS Enterprise. With lights like that masterpiece above, she'll be a thing of beauty. Too bad JJ Abrams had to mutilate her just for the sake of change. I won't pay to see it....

  • Amen!

I really want to build one myself my way.

  • lol :D nicely detailed lol to be honest its even better than the lego version of this that i built myself lol XD *me loves the polar lights and the engine lights :D.

  • polar lights is coming out with a bigger one where did you hear that ?

  • Thats the word- slated for next year. Subject to change, I guess. Heard it at Hobby Talk, and Starship Modeller, and I think at Fine Scale.

  • I'll be buying a 1/350 TOS-E when it comes out for sure, and will build it to look even more accurate than the replica here if thats possible...

  • Me too, if I have a job by then....

I'm sure you can do it, are you planning to light it? You should document your work and post it. I'd like to see what you do. I'm still trying to figure out how to accuratly light a 22" AMT starship..

  • I actually dug out my old 18" AMT TOS Enterprise kit that I never built years ago last week, which inspired me to look here. Now I actually want to start it soon. Then depending on how that turns out, I'll move up to the Polar Lights 1/350 version, which I found out about from your post, and want to light with glowing/spinning nacelle domes and the whole nine yards.

I wish you the best of luck in your job hunt, I can't imagine anything harder now, other than perhaps a death or divorce.

  • Haha, you got that right. Good luck on your starships.

  • Yeah, seems pretty definite that Polar Lights will be doing a 1:350 TOS Enterprise, available 2010. Will go nice with my 1:350 refit Enterprise!

  • Very Beautiful. Thanks for the upload.

  • Wold have been better if stuck with one theme and not have crossed into the end theme of The Undiscovered Country!

  • My birthday is 17 november ! THANKS ^^

  • You should be able to find a Master Replicas Enterprise for around 850.00 if you look around.

Custom builds of other ships to the same kind of quality would easily run thousands.

If your intersted in that kind of thing, there is a web page called "Resin Illuminati", just google it.

There are some great little kits by Bandai I recommend. Pre-painted and lighted. They have No D Enterprise. But do have E, refit, Voyager and NX-01.

  • WOW awesome just awesome! Is there an Enterprise D or E like this?

  • well, yes, but they are custom built by professional modelers and of course command a really high price.

This is really the only mass produced Trek ship with the kind of attention to detail and proper electronics that the ship deserves, and a price that though is high-ish, is still within grasp. I hope to see more ships from Master Replicas, but they are having so much problems right now, I don't see it happening.

  • Ah i see. So what would this set me back for?

  • Hi there, Very nice Video! - I'm considering buying one of these, but at 1200 a copy, wanted to ask - are you happy with the model, would you buy it if you had it to do over again? Thanks much! Jack

  • Try to find one for around 850.00. (non signature editions) Try ebay or private sellers on collectors forums. I am quite happy with it. But that being said, they are not perfect. For the average collector they are awesome. If your a model builder yourself or incredibly familiar with the Enterprise, you will find a few small issues, but not deal killers. The attention to accuracy was very very good for the most part.

I cannot imagine any fan of orginal Trek being dissappointed. A must have.

  • Still the most beautiful, elegant, majestic ship design ever concieved.A true masterpiece that will live forever.

  • I still LOVE this Enterprise. And in second place is the re-fit and or the "A" version that was in the ST II and III.

  • It is one of the first batch - 1250 built in that run. The last 500 are in progress now.

    I'm payimng $1200

  • Well done model. Very well done. I'll excuse the over-clocking of the spinners in the front of the nacelles because the color accuracy of the lighting there is so great.

But, could they possibly have zoomed out any slower. I think I got seasick from the sheer desire to move faster. Also, there a few examples of Shatner acting more poorly than in that clip. Whats with.... all....the... random pauses. It's not.... dramatic just............ silly.

  • That's . . . how Shatner . . . . ALWAYS acts!

  • How big is it, I'm wondering, is it 66 inches or a foot long (I think the model that was used where the engines light up was 12 inches and an 11 ft. where they were made of wood).

Anyway Nice Vid! shows the Big E in all her glory!

  • Fantastic model. Well Done.

  • Jeez, it even has that rusty looking circular panel on the top of the saucer just like the real miniature!

  • TOS would have looked so much more real if the windows lit up like this.

  • I have the same model on my car, its cool

  • How much cost one?

  • what does something like this go for? Awesome!

  • Why does the dorsal surface of the saucer looks like there's some brownish stuff? Is that dust or shadow created by weird lighting?

  • It is a weathering effect that was painted on the original 11 foot studio model. Master Replicas also added this weathering to their model. Modelers often refer to it by it's nickname.. the "rust ring". LOL

  • Ah, gotcha.

  • Rust in a vacuum? That makes no sense. The hull would be forever pristine.

  • ...Contrary to popular misbelief, space is not 100% vacuum. There's all sorts of gasses, ionic particles, and micrometeoroids out there that aren't visibly detectable at normal wavelengths.

  • It's a 'near vacuum' meaning that the density of matter per-cubic of space is negligible. Thinking about, I suppose a spacecraft would be hit with meteors etc which could contain ice and other materials resulting in a reaction in the metal similar to rust. But the Enterprise (and most StarTrek ships) has a deflector which is supposed to clear that junk out of the way. So I'll stick with my previous comment.

  • No, the meteoroids are deflected by navigational deflector (hence the name). Particulate matter regardless of size will not impact her hull, and there is certainly not enough atmosphere in superorbital space to oxidize metal, at least not on a time scale that we can comprehend.

  • dude, pull up the popcorn, and kick back to enjoy your model! Nice

  • That's so awsome! I wish I could afford it, but at least I got the next best thing from Diomand Select Toys.

  • Yes, that is a very nice one too!

  • Would you be willing to sell this.

  • No my man, you will have to get your own.

But you will find one exactly like it on Ebay or the Master Replicas website.

  • Magnificent! You can almost hear the thrum of the warp-nacelles...

  • Nice piece for a collection!

Does the audio come with it?

    5 stars

  • No audio. Just lights and a little motor noise from the spinning nacelle domes.

  • Thank you for the info.

    Still worth every penny!

    Great model.

I have one of the Enterprise NCC-1701A.

Just a small model, but one of my prized in my collection! Hand painted...lol.

    Live Long and Prosper!

    Gonna fav this video too!

  • Both, Master Replicas and Custom Replica, seesn great. What is the difrence from one to aother?

  • Master Replicas is about 3 feet long and was mass produced, you can find them for under 1000 dollars. Custom Replicas is 5 feet long and much more expensive from what I know.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • She´s a beauty

  • Jesus! My father is getting me a Sovereign and Galaxy Class Enterprises... hehe

  • Next to the original Enterprise, The Sovereign class is my next favorite.

  • I'm crying. I want it so badly but I can't afford it. Whaaaaaa!

  • That is really nice , you should get into making some videos with that, I know I would. Just wondering how big is it ?

  • It is 1/350th scale, about 33" long.

this is also the same scale as the retail Polar Lights model kit of the movie version of the Enterprise.

Would make for a nice display of the two together.

  • Beautiful.

  • 1199.00 is the cheapest version. Maybe less if you shop around.

  • how much was it!!!! i really want one ifs its under a few grand
