I have a Canon Powershot SX200 and it takes fantastic pics that end up looking professional after editing (even before). I'm thinking about upgrading, and since this is more of a hobby than a livelihood what should I upgrade to? I want a non-fuss camera that's reasonably priced and takes amazing pictures.
@NikAizamKalashi i feel the difference concerning what's semi professional and professional is little today. d7000 is all we need. check out... freedslr . com remove spaces and take the chance to win a new Nikon D7000
i have question, if i don"t want to use live view mode, (eat battery a lot) how can i focus view finder of the camera in landscape photography? for example ,when i want to use hyperfocal distance,my target for fcous is 6 fit, how can i focus it?
in live view 5x,10x we can use it but in view finder?
Im a canon man, however it might just be me but my frame of view on live view is out of line compared to the actual shot, but i frame up a shot in live view.. take it. and then its out of frame its like the picture drops down a bit.. is it just me?
Hi, I have had film SLR's for years and I wanted to move to DSLR's. After researching on the internet, and spending a bit of time thinking about sensor sizes, I bought the EOS 50D this week. It had the biggest sensor I could get for the money I had. It's great. No regrets, although I have a lot to re-learn.
thats actually a good question! the Nikon D5000 got a monitor that you can rotate and stuff and shoot over head of crouds. It also has the Nikon D90 sensor that has 12.0 Mega Pixels. The Canon Eos 50D has got 15 Mega Pixels but just 9 focus points. The Canos allows you to capture Full HD video. The D5000 can record "Just" HD vidoes. i hope it helped...
I had my mind set on a 1000D/Rebel XS until I studied more into the 50D, now I can't make up my mind whether I should go for the 1000D entry level (I'm new to DSLRs) or go for the camera that might be a step up from entry but maybe that doesn't matter? please help, Thanks.
i had a Canon 40D and it was great camera. when i get some money saved next purchase is going to be a 50D for sure. My friend has nikon d40 and i didn't like it, it was not user friendly.
i had my hands on the d90. the handling is better end the picture quality is better,if you ask me. you can use ISO 1600 what still produces quite good pictures and the 50d has a faster picrate.
@bagusbali75able Canon! Nikons a total crap and waste good material that could be used to make Canons. While you're at it throw out your PC and get a Mac. Seriously it is preference. You need to decide what YOUR needs and preferences are based on research, not just asking. You won't get a straight answer. Both are superb camera makers.
Definetely Canon 50D, N6600. The D90 can't be compared to it, except that it has HD video for 5 min. In everywhere else, the 50D is better. The E-30 is a good camera too, but the 50D is a better DSLR.
i never knew my xsi had live view untill i was photographing a wedding XD i always thought you had to do it where the screen went blank while it focused.
hey i doubt this is the right place to ask but im thinking of getting this camera but want to know if it'll be good for taking skateboarding sequences.. like good crisp images at 6.3fps..
Hi, i am very interested at buying a new DSLR, i was wondering if there might be firmware updates on canon cameras? HD video shooting is a HUGE feature to me (so i dont buy a camcorder).
since the 50D has the same processor as the 5D markII, is it technically possible to shoot videos too? i don't really want to spend 1000$ more for the 5D markII but i would since 1000$ is the actual cost of (average) HD camcorders.
wildkid911: if u use the HDMI contact on the 50d, HD tv and recording system, u´ll see that it´s well yeah, maybe a bit complicated but an inexpensive thing to do, thinking of that u allready have the other devices that u may have to use :P
I´m not a Nikon man either, and the very first DSLR u get, is the brand u get married to, so...
I know, I will upgrade to a 2.8 version later but i currently have the 75-300 usm and i am really not satisfied with this lens, and it takes like another 6 months to get the money for the 2.8 is version

You can use your 50D for video by running the video cable out to a recording device such as video camera, but that added cost would justify the 5dII.

I really want to buy the 50d but it's have to wait until may next year because i need the 70-200 4.0 more^^
Do you ship to germany and how expensive is it?
i would like to buy one of your dvds

Yes, we ship worldwide, it is $9.95 for first class international (or just $5 more than US shipping)

dont waste your money on the f/4.0 lens. if you're gonna buy a "grey" series lens, you might as well save to get the 2.8 series. its so much better.
