I just built KDE 4.3.1 on my Gentoo Core2Duo laptop, with -march=core2 GCC flag, .31 kernel, new Intel GMA965 drivers and raster USE flag - it's quite fast, very fast, even faster then my old kde 3.5!

Well, Suse is a highly developed distro of Linux if I made Suse, I'd sell it than give it for free. You can run Windows in it as long as you have enough RAM and CPU as well.

Theoretically yes....also the min. requirements for OpenSuse is less than most of other distros.

Frankly...don't go for the distro which is faster rather than go for the one which suits u....may be try all the live cds

XP and BT3 are running in Virtual Box....
