  • what ferrets can eat?? mine is really skinny

  • @FerretCoco Ferrets must eat a high protein met diet. The best is Ferret EVO, also 8 in 1 Ferret Ultimate, the protein should be around 60% or more, and lots of fat. No vegetables. You can give your ferret chicken baby food or cooked eggs or chicken, tuna. For an underweight ferret you should also feed them Ferretvite every day and some Ferratone too. you can get all this at a good pet store like global or your regular pet store may order it. Check out some ferret sites for good foods.

  • @desdemonad thanks for the help I will upload a video of my ferret dragon, hopefully he'll have a friend soon.

  • Nice where did you get your ferret at please let me know I'm looking for a friend for mine

  • @27pITTMAn27 I got all my ferrets from the shelter, they have so many SWEET FERRETS OF ALL AGES THAT NEED A GOOD HOME, AND ARE VERY REASONABLY PRICED. CHECK YOUR LOCAL AREA FOR NEAR-BYE SHELTER'S. i NEVER GET THEN FROM PET STORES AS THEY JUST END UP SUPPORTING THE HUGE FERRET MILLS.

  • Thanks for the video! My fiance and I are baby-sitting a ferret before the new owners come pick her up. It's going to be hard to give her to them! We're going to give her a bath tonight, clean her cage, and put her "perfume" on. She's also amazingly tame! She tried to kiss me and I've never actually met a ferret before. Thanks again!

  • @nicolleashlynn sounds awesome, ferrets are so lovely and sweet when trained right and treated well. what is her 'perfume'? be careful of any toxic products, get pet approved stuff only or all natural stuff.

  • @desdemonad The "perfume" is smelly ferret stuff that came with her. It's for ferrets. I just call it her perfume because it helps her remain non-stinky. It's called, "Ferret Odor Remover." It's by Marshall.

  • i have 6 month old ferrets i give them a bath one by one also they hate but in the end they knoe who is going to win so they have the most digusted expressions when it's time to get a bath which for my youngest (which is 7 weeks old) is one time a month because he loves to get dirty also he's name is taylor

  • @rpagan98 tyler sorry

  • @rpagan98 i love that disgusted look they put on, its priceless. lots of young ferrets you have must be quite the party!!

  • @desdemonad yep i love that face only one likes taking a bath his name is banditt because he loves to steal my stuff but i know where he hides it he doesn't know though i don't want to break his little heart also yes it is a party when it comes down to play time they play for like 3 to 4 hours a day because they have so much energy and one is pregant her name is princess because she is my little princess and the father is banditt i don't what i am going to do cause now i am going to have 10-14

  • @rpagan98 oh dear, 14 ferrets!! try the pet store they may buy them, but have them be at least 7 weeks old. I hope the mom does ok, it is hard for them to have babies, especially the first time. a lot die and sometimes the mom too, i would get her fixed as soon as possible, the dad too, he will smell less and be more playful. let me know how the babies do. If you sell them be sure you give them to ferret knowledgeable people only.

  • @desdemonad thats the thing pets store don't play with them so i going to start up my own shelter and they babys were born the day i post my last comment and i have eleven and sadly i was too late to get the mom fixed so she passed away but the babys were fixed but the are so so so so so so so so feaking sad and the dad doesn't NOTHING to help so i have the babys in another cage and playpen and room

  • @desdemonad also i play with them every freaking moment

  • @rpagan98 My name is Taylor, and i love ferrets !

  • @TheSakura1100 AWESOME

  • This is the best video ever!!!!!!!

  • @hybridshocker74 Thanks so much!! Appreciate it.

  • @hybridshocker74 thanks, your awesome

  • dude 4 of them i cannot immagine how much poo you clean up

  • @FUCKINAdamnit ALOT!!!

  • i love ferrets! <3

  • @portugesegirl101. Yes they can but bathing them about once a month a frequently washing all bedding makes it bearable

  • Mine try to shower with me. Its really funny

  • @puddinpot33 Mine love to lick out the shower after or lick my feet and legs when i get out and sometimes, they come in while i'm in there if i deflect most the water.

  • do ferrets smell bad?

  • @portuguesegirl101 Thy can, they need their bedding changed often, every other day if possible, and good food, and a few baths a year, and their ears cleaned regularly.

  • SO EXCITED!! GETTING MY FERRETS TOMAROW!!!

  • @colurmecrazy Congrats, I hope you enjoy them as much as i do mine, let me know if you need any advice.

  • I just got a little white ferret today :) and named him oscar, hes so cute and loveable! I love ferrets so much!!:)

  • @00hannahbanna He sounds wonderful, is he pure albino or a dark-eyes white?

  • this is very cute ! can tell you adore your ferrets :)

  • @backgardenzoo I sure do they make up a huge part of my life, they make me laugh every day, I've had ferrets 13 years now.

  • That white one had CUTE PAWS

    I got to touch them

  • @MeAndMyBirdRio I play with their little paws all the time, they like a little paw rub once in a while LOL

  • haha love the end "night night fuzzys night night...." :)

  • when i bathe my ferret in the sink he just lays down an chills lol

  • Ferrets with red eyes scare me 0_0

  • if you got into that bath you'd need a good wash after you got out of it.

  • I love how the sable was sleeping ^^ I find how my ferrets sleep awkwardly very cute

  • @Rose53241 they sleep in the weirdest positions, it makes me laugh, half in and half out of their hammock or all twisted around each other, so cute

  • Ferrets are so smart! They know they need to dry off, so they roll in the towels and go through a a heater! A cat or dog coulden' even do some of those things! ;D

  • @AquaBubblez13 I know ferrets are really very brilliant little things, as smart as our new world monkeys, most people don't realize how very clever they are, especially at getting what they want!! LOL

  • @AquaBubblez13 My dog can try himself on a towel. o - o Never underestimate any animal. They might just surprise you.

  • @AquaBubblez13 actually my dogs roll around in towels after they get out the bath...soooo.. lol

  • @AquaBubblez13 my dog rolls on towels after a bath!

  • thanks

  • @LordGiygue hee hee yes, its terrible eh, poor little weasels!!!!

  • wow i cant even take care of my 2 ferrets they poop to much

  • @ilovenms best thing to do for poopy ferrets (and they are all very poopy) is to feed them the best quality ferret food or cat food you can get. Ferret EVO is super high in protien, so they digest more, poop out less. 8 in 1 Ultimate is also good. Also, for easier cleanup, but papers down in corners they go in and under their litter boxes.

  • ferret are like book it!

  • I love how it cuts the the cuties all tired out afterwards lol

  • i like ferrets but my parents wont let me have one.........IT SUCKS.

  • @theawesomeness9911 well, they are a lot of responsibility, how old are you??

  • @desdemonad like 40.

  • @desdemonad jk not old enough to live on my own.

  • Thank you so much for posting! This had way more information and was way more helpful than any other videos I've seen!

  • @TheEyeofawolf22 thanks so much that's real nice to hear

  • Keke, I am a big fan :D

  • @ferretfever101 sweet, thanks

  • adorable little group you have there! i have one and he is enough for me!!! lol

  • @KeKe10101000 sweet, thanks so much, yep, even one can seem like 4!!!

  • the ferts are so cute

  • @myKarla101 thank-you veey much!

  • One jumped right in the tub LOL

What color would it be classed as? Half-sable, half-champagne?

  • @RyushuSuperCat yep, but he keep getting more and more champagne as he gets older, gets hard to classify after a bit

  • @desdemonad

Ahh, I see. Adorable besides ^w^

  • @desdemonad Mine are all getting lighter that were champagne, now kinda goldie/grey/assorted, only my dark girl stays dark.

  • @RyushuSuperCat They love the tub when its empty, they play in there alot, then sometimes they don't realize I've run a bath for them and they jump in a get a surprise! I find it hard to classify,, he is a roaming sable i guess?

  • I would love to visit your house...I love ferrets...

  • actually thats really well behaved...my ferrets freak out way worse during bath time...

  • @ShinjuHoshi yeah, my ferrets are great little guys, very good for their mommy

  • Aww, cute! :D .. I'm getting a ferret. (:

  • they are sooo adorible :D

  • Look at your ferrets jumping in the tub! I have 2 ferrets and they both hate it!

  • @ElaineEC well, mine don't exactly love it, but they tolerate it and manage to have a little fun

  • After seeing the size of that ferret, I am convinced mine is obese.

  • @8xNinjax8 well, they look a lot skinnier when wet but samson is a very slight ferret for a boy. he's gained some weight recently though as he's getting older and slower. How much does your ferret weigh??

  • @desdemonad I haven't actually weighed him but you can just tell he's huge by looking at him. When he's sleeping, his body just looks like a huge mass of fur and I can't actually hold him with one hand any more. I need to use both otherwise I'd drop him cause he's so big. I remember when he was still a newborn and I could feel like bones on his neck...those days are loong gone.

  • okay not saying you give your ferrets bath all the time, but your not suppost to bathe your ferrets often whatso ever because their oil skins are very senstive (which makes them stink) and bathing them makes it worse if they get wet or washed to often

  • @typexxx13 absolutely right you are, mine get baths 2 times a year

  • hey check out my pet ferret after a bath: youtube.com/watch?v=aY_e2kipmb0

  • so cute :)

  • @peterxson thank you very much!

  • holy shit is your house like a ferret zoo?

  • @Womenftw12345 totally yes! LOL Should have seen it when i had 8!!

  • lol ferret boat.

  • @SammiCakesAdventures he he yep, pretty much

  • My ferret would see my half full bath and he'll be like "Not this again..." he would jump in and dive and grip his teeth on the plug draining it and he'll see me do the water again he twitches his eye like "Fuck no....." and he just runs

  • @emkaz35 he he funnny

  • @emkaz35 lol that is awesome,I'm not sure how my boys Loki and Olli are going to take it though they like to jump in the water dish so they might not mind it

  • @vikingwarlord1250 I hope they enjoy it, it can become a fun activity , some just like to swin around nad idve for treats, toys at the bottom.

  • I lOVELOVELOVE your leu ferret!!

  • @dreamera1 thanks a bunch !!!!

  • idk wats wrong i got my ferret monday from petco and he got sipped to petco at 11 am on monday and he likes to bite im afraid to give hima bath

  • @CrazyAllie3767 All baby ferret need to be trained not to bite, they are used to playing rough with other ferret, who have very thick skin, they don't realize we have thinner skin. You have to let them know when they bite too hard, by saying loudly, NO. Then stop playing with them for a few seconds and keep doing this. NEVER EVER hit or hurt your ferret in any way when he bites, it will just make him fear you and he will bite more. Be very gentle, he is a baby, and scared, he needs time

  • april runs and hides and poohs almost immediately after her bath

  • @mekanik187 oh dear, my ferrets just get really excited and dance all around.

  • your bathtub is REALLY dirty xD thumbs up if u agree

  • @adpadp123 its not dirty, its just a very very old stained blue tub

  • @adpadp123 lmao, no thumbs up, you stupid cunt.

  • Oh man mine hates stepping in water, I can't imagine what it'll be like when I have to bathe her!

  • @Rythen2 well, they don't love it that's for sure but she'll get use to it, and you only have to do it 2 or 3 times a year.

  • mine HATES bath time XD. but she loves my cats water bowl.

  • job well done girl..

  • @ferretlad8 thanks!

  • Not that they "like the water warm", but more like they hate it less than when its cold...

  • i wish ferrets weren't illegal in California. its a boner kill.

  • @chauncy424 boner kill? maybe its best it is illegal where you are if you was going to get one for sexual gratification

  • @jimmymagnum07 it means ferrets are so cute and make me so happy than its a boner kill because reality strikes a chord and reminds me i can never have one it doesnt actually mean i get a boner from them thats bestiality which is gross.

  • @jimmymagnum07 don't be sick LOL

  • @chauncy424 I know, its too bad, maybe your next governor willl change the law

  • ive read that bathing a ferret can actually increase there smell , i just got my new baby and ive already seen how much she loves water, not from a bath but i had put a bowl with a lil bit of water in it and i did notice she smelt extra musky after that.

  • @temari053 yes, they can smell more when you bathe them too much as it dries their skin and so they need to produce more oil, hence the musky smell, that why you only do it 2 or 3 times a year if they need it, or just give them the occasional wipe with a unscented baby wipe. I also use conditioner after to help with moisture and I have a moisture spray too

  • Ferrets don't beed to be bathed. None of my seven ferrets have ever gotten dirty and never needed a bath. If you can't handle the natural scent of a ferret, don't have them. Frequent bathing only causes dry, itchy skin (and ferrets are naturally itchy critters anyway). Now, playing in the water is another thing, and if they like it, let them do it, but a wet ferret does smell far worse than a dry one. Cream rinse? Oh come on! Boy, you fall for anything on the shelf, don't you?

  • @TheMrBlinx It does not hurt to bath a ferret 2 or 3 times a year if they get dirty. My ferrets happen to get quite dirty sometimes because I bring them to the dog free park on harness and leash and let them dig in the dirt , which they adore. If they need a bathe a gentle shampoo is sufficient, but a little creme rinse doesn't hurt and adds some moisture back.

  • Do they really like baths? My dads ferret had 2 babies 1 male and 1 female (I don't live with him i live with my mum). We wanted both (the female is getting spayed). My dad only let me have one as a friend wanted the male. So we want to get another ferret to keep her company, hopefully today but they are quite rare where we live..

Anyway, do ferrets enjoy a warm bath?

  • @XxbritpupxX Some ferrets enjoy a warm bath, others hate it and want nothing to do with water. Other ferrets love to splash and play in a small amount of water in the bottom of the tub or just a big, flattish bowl or pan with water in it and things for them to dive for, like raisons and other treats.

You def. should get another ferret to keep your girl company. try getting a ferret from a rescue if possible, they need good homes for abandoned ferrets. Look online in your area for a shelter

  • I used to have two ferrets :) They are hard to potty train and bathe and a lot of work, but they are quite fun.

  • @rejectedchik89 Agreed, a ton of fun, unfortunately, a lot of people don't realize the work involved, and get in over their heads, and the ferrets end up in a shelter, so please, everyone, learn all about ferrets AND THERE MANY NEEDS BEFORE YOU GET ONE!!

  • HOW MANY FERRETS DO YOU HAV IT LOOKS LIKE 10 OR 11 TO ME!

  • @mjfoley00 Ha Ha no, I only have 4 but I know lots of people who do have 10 or more. They are like potato chips, its hard to stop after just one!

  • How much do u spend when u take your ferrets to the vet?

  • @MultiWolfgirl ALOT!! I took my 4 in for their yearly check-up and needles (distemper and rabies), plus an ear mite swap, and it cost me $500. They go to a ferret 'specialist' vet though, he charges a bit more, but is very very expereinced in ferrets. If one gets sick, I have paid up to $1500 in tests and medication. I always put away money every month into a ferret fund for unexpected ferret bills.

  • I just got a Ferret From Craig's list for free he's a sweetie boy =D his name is meep and he's a Marshall's ferret he's a year and a half and his nails are really overgrown and he stinks it's seems like he's never had a bath before and that his previous owners didn't seem to know what they were doing =( but we are taking good care of him and I think he's happy =D i am going to take him to a vet the next time my mom has a day off which will be soon =)

  • @CutenessOverlode Oh, lucky Meep, he's found a good home. Sounds like the previous owners had no idea how to care for a ferret. First thing is you must trim his nails, you can either lie him on his belly with some feratone or petromalt on his belly to distract him and trim above the pink 'quik', on an angle. Then give the poor guy a goods bath, and when you bring him to the vet, ask if he is neutered, and if not, get it done, the smell will recede. Let me know how he does at the vet.

  • @CutenessOverlode all ferrets are gonna stink i have my own they r A LOT to take care of

  • @peep962 They certainly are a lot of work ' peep' , and can be expensive too. Ferret have their own very unique odour, very musky, I happen to like it, and if you keep their cage/bedding/litter very clean, its not too bad.

  • @CutenessOverlode ferrets actually only need to be bathed like 4 times a year if he smells its likely the food hes been fed and over washing that is making him smell, the better food theyre fed and the less they get bathed the less they smell

  • What i can tell you is what i have read many times. Over seas, mainly anywhere out of the USA, they do not descent them. It is considered a mutilation of the animal. There is NO proof that descenting helps the smell at all and it causes a ton of issues. I have 4 rescues & 2 are sick/have issues. One has an enlarged spleen and the other has adrenal issues. There is proof that both of these are caused by neutering and descenting at a young age. BTW like the video, 2 speeds FAST & Stop w/ferrets

  • @Porsche928sguy Yep, i agree, my next ferkids will be unaltered and undescented. i had four rescues, but I just lost my 4 year old girl to insulinoma, totally unnecessay illness due t oinbredding and early alterations by the ferret farm that sells to the pets stores, that people then buy, and /i end up with. I am willing to go wheverever i need to , to get a couple kits in a few years that are whole, and i will get them fixed when the time comes, but not descented.

  • @Porsche928sguy I have a DEW boy that had a 1/3 lb. spleen removed. It was 1/6 of his body weight.

  • @TheMrBlinx WOW! I've had some ferret with enlarged spleens but never so big that the vet felt it was needed to remove. I hope your fuzzie is doing OK now.

  • @desdemonad It was not a life or death thing, but was diminishing his life quite a bit. Instead or playing a lot, he'd play a little and sit the rest of playtime out. That's why I'm watching Buddy now (what are the chances two consecutive ferrets would have enlarged spleens?). Buddy has a "soft mass"across his abdomen. It's not constipation or blockage, and he still plays, eats, drinks and poops like normal (a LOT!). So, for the time being, I'll wait and watch. His behavior will tell.

  • Love this vid!!!!I want a ferret!!!!My mom would kill me if I bathe them in our shower!!!

  • @danielanimales1 hee hee yeah Mom's and ferrets always seem to clash, when your older you can have some and bathe them anywhere you want!

  • @desdemonad Yeah!!!When I get older,Im going to bath them in a tub!!!!Wohoo!!!:)thumbs up,shamed on the person who putted thumbs down....

  • awawaawwa there so cuteeeeeee

  • @Sourpatchkid3252 oh yes, yes they are!!

  • How much was yours? Where did u get them?

  • @ReneeRoberts15 I adopted all minef rom people who no longer wanted them, I got them for $75 each. Most shelters have prices around this, less for older ferrets, more for younger

  • @desdemonad i just got 1 for 15£

  • @aknipe106 wow, that's cool, i heard you can get them cheaper in the UK cause they're are not neutereed or descented first, is this right?? Ours all come fixed and descented and with their first needles, so they cost a lot, in the pet store a baby cost over $200, you can adopt for about $100 from a shelter too

  • @desdemonad he was toilet trained and everythin and taught no to bite hard, we just need to get his vaccines done, and wat u mean by "neutereed", i even looked it up in the dictionary, not there

  • @aknipe106 sorry, my spelling was wrong, its spelled neutered, and its when you get an animal fixed or spayed so that they can't have babies.

  • @desdemonad why would i wanna do that lol, its basically destroying some ones dignity and going against the nature of something, dunno but i think its wrong

  • @aknipe106 Well, some people don't neuter, but if you don't want your ferrets to have kits that you then have to find homes for, its easier to fix them. Also, if a female goes into heat for the first time and is not bred, she can suffer a serious, mostly fatal illness called aplastic anemia. Tthere are so many abandoned ferrets in shelters, breeding more ferrets is the last thing anyone should do. Its like cats, they don't get fixed, kittens are everywhere and then they are destroyed.

  • @desdemonad people always disagree on a lot of things, and what people do in different situations depends on the kind per person they are; so not all people leave or destroy unwanted pets. Besides there is a very simple way to solve this problem, only have males

  • I really want a ferret...are they hard to manage and how bad is the odor because the odor thing is what is stopping my dad from saying yes

  • @CourtneyKangaroo there is always an odor but i don't find it unpleasant but a lot of people do, you have to keep their cages and bedding really clean, change every week is best, and not feed them fishy food. Also older ferrets are better if you are a newbie owner, you could adopt a couple 4 year olds from a shelter, the young ones are VERY active and need lots time and attention

  • did you buy these or did you breed

  • @neworleansnigga08 all my ferrets are adopted from shelters or bought from people who don't want their ferrets anymore. I do not believe in breeding as there are already too many ferrets looking for homes and too many backyard and laboratory breeders sending out overbred ferrets prone to illness.

  • What, you mean they don't try to climb into the shower with you?

  • @orangedagaz HAHA well, actually, they are very interested in the shower, they run around trying to peek in and sometimes they slide in and discover they are getting wet, and jump out ASAP

  • wow this is so fuuny

  • @msapplepie68 thanks ferrets ARE FUNNY lol

  • umm how long do ferrets live for ?

  • the 'norm' is about 5-7 years. They are overbred in puppy mill like places and fixed to early. Ferrets in other countries who are not overbred can live 15 years. Like the UK or a ferret from the States from a REPUTABLE breeder, not a backyard breeder, someone who mixes the bloodlines.

  • @kingsnakelover33 ummm, they live only about 5-8 years in Canada because their bloodlines are not well mixed, they are overbred, and, unfortunately, prone to many diseases. A ferret from a reputable breeder instead of a pet store, who get them from ferret mills, live longer

  • please help me my ferret hates bath time i do it once a month and when i do hes ten times worse than yours he constantly jumps and claws his way out he HATES it i have tried everything please help me tell me what o do. i need help

  • i sent you a message, hope it helps! worst comes to worst, no more wet baths, buy some ferret dry shampoo, just rub it in

  • guys my ferret has a neorligical problem steriods is the only think thts helps him and in this economy can't be spending 75 dollars every other day its only a time to my ferret is gone :(

  • how come so much money?? I get my steroids by the 100's, cost about $25, lasts for over a month. Is he on Prednisone? Tablets or liquid. The liquid is expensive, better to buy the tablets and crush/put his medicine in some baby food (jar of chicken baby food in the stores is about $1.50, lasts 4 or 5 days. Also is cheaper if you get a prescription form the vet and get the medicine at the regualr pharmacy, not from the vet (more expensive). Let me know. Thanks

  • the steriods are on the way my moms friend is getting it for us

  • where did you get the ferret shampoo

  • just the pet store, and some vets have it too. if you can not find any, use BABY shampoo and rince well : )

  • @desdemonad Please clear something up for me. Do ferrets ALWAYS stink? Can you get rid of their odor, AT ALL? Permanently? I'd love to own one but my mom won't allow it in her house if there's a smell. And I hear that if you bathe them, the smell's twice as bad, because of something concerning the natural oils that they replace..

  • @TEHBR00TZ unfortunately the answer is Yes, ferrets always have a distinct odor, no there is nothing to be done, a lot of people do not mind the odor though, just be sure they are descented (usually already been done), keep theri bedding and their cage very very clean, but if you pick them up, they have an odor of theri own, just like any animal.

  • is the very white one the baby? (youngest??)
