  • Does anybody know of some bands that plays in this style of music?

  • Never remake a gem like this. Re-release is the right word.

  • @Helmutlozzi Remake it with better controls no bugs and Slightly improved graphics.

  • WE NEED TO PETITION THE REMAKE OF THE GAME IN ALL CONSOLE'S

  • @kevobum I would say re-release, not remake :)

  • @Viecktoire i say remake cause they should add new missions and make it a 10 cd game

  • @kevobum I completely agree with you, i would die to play that game you speak of, but in the real world, with the current games market, it would not be what you expected of it..

Games like Grim Fandango have no place around big publishers nowadays.. they wouldn't go for it :(

  • beautiful theme build up in the mix of the Spanish-like phrygian dominant scale and Davis' modal approach of jazz. love when the bass goes to the flattened fifth. totally brilliant.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA lol, this soooooong, feeling so laaaaazyyyyy and dum :D

  • I like the 40s sound it has, this is some awesome music here.

  • Gamekings Brieven Maandag tune JEEEEEUJJJ!!!

  • @rebeljel84 Hahaha idd XD Episch ja!! :P

  • omg! How did you do that?

  • I still remember when I extracted grim fandango song from the .pak installation files... Good Old times! :-D

  • one of my favorite games.. and definitely one of the bests osts I've ever heard ^^

    I miss you Manny ;/

  • I've tried to find other songs and artists that play a similar sound to this song, "Blue Hector", "High Roller" and "Gambling Glottis", to name a few... but if that just isn't the most frustrating task in the world, I don't know what is...

So, does anyone know what genre/subgenre you'd call this? Slow-tempo Jazz?

  • Im trying to too man. No joy do far, but id really appriciate linking me if you have any luck.

Fwi I think it could be classed as latin jazz?

  • Same here! 'been trying to find this kind of music everywhere and no results!

    I want more down-tempo/brooding/smoky jazz!

  • Theres defently a slice of the jazz market that needs to be filled (or needs to make itself known)

But im still going to keep looking because I just cant stop :D

  • @colle89 me too man, tell me if you find pls :)

  • bebop?

  • @colle89 "Mr. Frustration Man" and "High Roller" are cool/modal jazz, find out Miles Davis' Kind of Blue. "Gambling Glottis" is a hard bop, a style of jazz from the 50s-60s, check out Art Blakey's band;)

  • every time i hear this music, i remember the lazy afternoons & my glory days in gaming...

  • it's definetly a lazy afternoon music :)

  • @3ngin321

    lol yes it is xD

  • @R9O89R it really was the golden age of PC gaming wasn't it?

Nothing but fond memories. Grim fandango, Total Annihilation, and Kotor. After that consoles sapped the spirit of the whole enterprise.
