Danke
I remember this from when I was 11 years old. It made me laugh out loud then, but now I quite like the song. I still don't get the choreography though. And the backing singer is hurting my ears...
this song should have scored much higher, it was far better than many of the other entrants that year. good singer but shame about those crazy dancers
I love this song so much, it means so much to me. Brings back so many happy and also sad memories. Love your white jacket marti!!! Wonder where it is NOW eh??? tee hee hee ;)
Actually, this is quite a good song and the singer is very good, but the performance, what a mess! They are going/dancing around without any sence, and the costume (Fotballhelmet and bathing suit???)...
I just doesn't get it, but this is on the limit to get many points for the effort though! :)
This is a nice song; quite a beautiful, haunting chorus. Though Marty bears an almost uncanny resemblance to a guy I used to work with, and whom I couldn't stand. Eh, another story. But why are these girls dressed like that? One with headphones, and the queen with a football helmet while wearing a bathing suit... I like this song but why this surreal execution?
Oi Oi!! Dont be dissin my dad! ok the choreography was rubbish but he cant help it. The only thing he did was sing and that was brilliant. i honestly think u should have more respect i mean i bet none of you would even dare to get on that stage let alone sing. And sing well at that.
PS the jacket is wicked man i want one. just kidden.
They were tellin me everything is on You Tube. So I checked, and here it is. Me, 25 years ago with probably the sickest jacket I've ever worn and loads of other astonishing choreographic "elements". But hey, I was young and I needed the money. What a laugh to see this now....
Greetings to everybody who's laughing with me. - Best, Martin
@lenardin Hey, your jacket is great, but what the heck did the dancers have to wear? ;-). Alles Gute, Martin!
@lenardin man you where beautifull i love the song and the sexiest guy in that years eurovision ,it was a beautifull melody and harmony for those years!
Yeah, that's the ultimate proof that Austria did everything not to win. They couldn't get any awful songs, so at least they made up for that with scary or weird performances and costumes. I guess whoever arranged this performance is the same person that talked the Turkish broadcaster into sending Opera to the ESC.
The song is pretty average itself but... OH MY GOD!!! The vocalist with the football helmet (that is, American football, folks) and the bathing suit? The choreography? Whoever thought of this whole thing?! And I thought I'd seen everything on Eurovision...
sad song , not suitable for this kind of choreography
but so special to remember

The song is a banal ballad, but the coreography is awful (0 points) Why the girls are wearing so awful???? ....

It was the height of fashion in 1981, put into perspective, it was not as bad then as it would appear now.

According to the writing at the beginning of this video, it's martY! (with a Y). Anyway, you weren't even born when this song was around!

The first ESC entry I watched ever.
A very good song with strong lyrics causing me shivers. Just the choreography was indiscutable.
Well, I probably won't forget that song, ty.
