  • I wish that i could play like you, but i cant even carry a guitar :(

  • marlowe, sorry to ask this if you've mentioned it somewhere, but what is this camera you are using now??? The quality looks fantastic almost like it's shot on film! If someone else knows, feel free to respond. thanks!

  • I really love that F Bass. Are you using both pickups on full? I assume they're single coil. Are they too noisy to use individually and are you using one more than the other in any of your videos?

  • You are one great instructor. I can opnly play by ear, so are perfrect for me. Have you ever worked up "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green?

  • @terryhuston Thx and yes Ive played "lets stay together" a couple of times on gigs

it is freaking awesome what you did, i mean, it s just pure genius...

to put all your knowledge on the internet requires balls of steel!

  • @MarloweDK do F basses, really put fenders to shame? i love my marcus miller jazz bass, but isnt it the player that makes the bass awsome/sing?

  • Thx for all the lessons as always, please keep the 'donate' button available...my finance is looking a bit brighter this year.

  • niiice

  • sorry if this sounds stupid or anything.... but what does L337 mean??

  • @MinerboMusic Its just my lick numbering system

  • @MarloweDK marlowe , why don't you compose a cd? i don't know if you have a family or all those things , but i know the world is eager to have you hitting their chest with your bass grooves that are so funky and blues and everything in between

  • @MarloweDK Just a random note. "L337" is gonna attract some gamer viewers in youtubeland.

  • @MarloweDK Any articles or vids on how that works?

  • Comment removed

  • @MinerboMusic 1337 is a video game term, which translates to LEET (if you change the numbers to letters) which is short for ELITE. But in this case L337 is Marlowe's lick numbering system. Sorry if that was confusing

  • which do you recommend for a beginner: a 4-string or a 5-string? Is the extra string important to consider?

  • @jcmoovee I'm no expert, but I play both the upright and bass guitar. A 4-string is the standard and is easier on both basses. You never see a 5-string upright bass, but the 5-string bass guitar adds a level of difficulty. I'd stick with the 4-string as it is easier to play.

  • @jcmoovee Unless the music you play calls for it, you should be fine with a 4 string, and it is easier to learn

  • @MarloweDK thanks :)

  • @jcmoovee Probably a 4 string for a beginner, that 5th string isnt neccacary when first starting out. and the 5th string isnt needed for alot of types of music, if you plan on playing heavly down tuned metal i would recomend one, but for the most part, you dont need a 5 string.

  • @jcmoovee 5 string is good for lower tunings. So if you play more of a heavy type of music, you might want to use a 5 string. But for Jazz, a 4 string would be fine.
