I understand many series within the magical girl genre will have similarities... but this is seriously kind of ridiculous. They pretty much copied BSSM in every way. If you like the series despite that, okay... but people seriously need to stop kidding themselves by denying it.

Also, it seems that Sailor Moon's age range was a little older than Pre Cure 5's age range. For instance, living in Japan, I notice more "Pre Cure 5" shirts with Nozomo and Karin stamped on the front for ages 2-5, but more Sailor Moon shirts for ages 6-12.

In America/Europe, you fanboys/girls whine about copycats. But seriously, in Japan, nobody gives a damn. It's just another cartoon to watch, and the stories might be a bit different. People dont complain about CSI and Bones being the same

The comments about XXX anime being a copy of YYY anime do not take into account the years that the anime was released. I watched Sailor Moon when it started, while I was in High School. It started in 92/93 if I recall. It is now nearly 18-20 YEARS later! As such, they need to "revamp" the genre, or create new cartoons, for the new generation of children. I showed my daughter Sailor Moon, and it was cool, she preferred PC5.

I didn't "force" her to watch it ;-)

I just showed her a couple of episodes and asked her which she preferred. Of course, she was three years old, with a TON of PC5 gear (shirts, pants, shorts, backpack, lunchbox, rings, fake cell phone, day-care bag, etc). Your comment about it being for older kids is true, and my 2nd comment below mentions that - SM being for slightly older children and PC5 being for the younger ones.

I like the comments claiming similiarity to Sailor Moon, considering that both Pretty Cure and that series are pretty typical examples of the Magical Girl genre, and thus will have a ton in common with pretty much any series in that genre... and probably quite a bit in common with Sentai shows, too.
